Engineer is absolutely insane if you play an actually small country. It was one of the biggest boost I could ever find for my single state Himalayas playthrough. Definitely the top5, though I would say it is higher. I did encounter some wierd interaction where an IG leader gets replaced immediately by a random bum when you abdicate, making it basically impossible to put a good leader in power by abdication, but otherwise - a based tierlist.

I went through the game files a couple months ago, there's one more historic character that appears in Norway/Scadanavia Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson who has Literary, Cautious, and Inspirational Orator and is an intelligentsia radical agitator

I find it kinda silly that traits like cautious and reckless cause you to act completely the opposite of the name of the trait. I feel that they should probably be different. Maybe cautious causes more radicals when at war and more loyalists at peace. Reckless the opposite. Something along those lines.
@bradleystevens4618Ай бұрын
would love to see a similar breakdown on what the "best" traits are for generals. I say "best" bc it's likely a lot more subjective/situational than with rulers, and "best" is usually whatever IG you're trying to promote right? But still a detailed dive into it for when combat traits actually are the most important factor (and how to make those situational assessments) would still be really cool and helpful
@Bloise49Ай бұрын
I really like the 'direct' trait, since they transfer the power from the landowners to the armed forces, at the same time if you can turn them to a general, it'll save a lot of money, because it speeds up your wars...

I would have preferred Plekhanov's traits on Lenin but I guess Lenin's traits aren't too bad... Wasn't expecting to see Bakunin or _Kropotkin_ in-game at all, though, so that's kinda neat I suppose.

Had bad is cruel? Its upsides are only really useful early game because consumption taxes fall off mid game, but also you could try to stack it with Consumption-Based Taxation law early game. That could work with a 75% reduction in the cost of authority for Consumption Tax, but how effective could that be when there is only a couple be efficient consumption taxes that are able to effectively extract wealth of the wealthy without also destroying lower and middle class sol. Normally you could tax grain, but you be deflating the SOL of the lower class. With cruel, you are lowering the SOL of your population by one across the board, so taxing grain will hurt them even more. Not to mention with all the extra authority you will have probably just spend it on decrees instead of using some of the more niche consumption taxes.
