I realize I unfortunately missed one emote, which is "The Lowdown" from Drizzle Season 2022. I would personally put this emote in C tier. (I did include it in the final tier list but somehow forgot to actually talk about it, sorry about that)

I think it's very tempting for every adult to put the dab in F tier. and I get it. it's cringe. But you can't deny it does the job of being infuriating to see from the losing side.

Although it was popularized because of the memes the weird thing is it has always been around for decades. I remember Power Rangers and Kamen Rider did it then people found out World War Veterans had done it before baby boomers were born.

I want to mention that in Splatoon 2 if you won with the Tenta Brella as an Inkling you would spin around the giant canopy and it was cool. But if you win with Tenta Brella in Splatoon 3 with The Square Show Off equipped you'll open this ridiculously TINY canopy that looks so weird and funny lmao it's just way too jarring.

Outside of me picking the emote that best fits what my Octoling is wearing, I really love those that are dance inspired! Being a dancer myself I could even recognise what genres they're from 😅 Examples include: - double-crossed dab (hip-hop -> one of the genres at the top of my list, and yes the dab is an actual dance move, my group even used it in our performances what you gonna do about it?) - shot caller (locking -> it uses one of the most commonly known locking sequences) - Breakin' + Your move (breakdancing -> self-explanatory, I'm actually training to become a beginner bboy so bonus points.) - Robo Steppin' + Robo-flow (robot -> nice that you know your dance genres, Chase!) - Nowhere Fast (Shuffling -> my favourite genre, it uses the airwalk shuffle which is a move I do all the time when I get bored while standing!) As for "Later, Undulator" it's pretty much just a body wave. A pretty common move used in a lot of genres but I love doing it because it's so satisfying and fun! Fun fact about XOXO: If you equip the mummy bandages, the Brinestone Jacket from SR, the pink sandals with the socks, and put on the shorts, then do this emote, you are as close as you can get to Sans from Undertale in Splatoon 3.

Upperkick Crouch and Backflip Atcha are my favorite emotes in Splatoon 3. They are just “Greninja” like. The Backflip in Backflip Atcha reminds me of one of Greninja’s victory animations in Smash Bros and the crouch in Upperkick Crouch is literally Greninja’s default pose or at least Smash 4’s pose.

For me, “Who’s Next” was the best emote for a long time, but once we got “Backflip Atcha”, that was instantly my soul tie emote. The backflip is so sick, and the pose gives off a dope feeling like your character going “you can’t fuck with me” and it’s perfect for my own personality.
