(This is coming from a Tri-Stringer main) While i agree that Tri-Stringer can be difficult for casuals, i think the reason for that is different. I think the weapon is difficult because of how it's meant to be played. A misconception with it (and the class in genral) is that directs or simpe AOE spamming are the only way to play it. Tri-Stringer's true playstyle (imo) is to change HOW you use your arrows based on the situation. One moment, you could be in a situation where a direct is needed. But a couple seconds later, the situation changes to were spamming is needed. And then a couple seconds later, you need to try doing some directs again. Also, now that Tri-Stringer can paint lines with directs, you now have to consider situations where teaammates need a line to push forward a little ALSO, simple, brain-dead spamming won't work for this weapon/class. The spamming requires predicting where opponent are going to move. If you know where someone is moving to, you can spam shots around that area and get enough chips for a kill or for teammates to finish the job. . In conclusion, Tri-Stringer is a flexible weapon. It relies on the alternation of your shots, the prediction of opponents and how you use your spams/directs. But its because of this required flexibility that the weapon can be hard to use. But its because of this flexibility that i love it and the class soo much.

fully agree with you here. I can find it uninteresting to do the same thing over and over during a match so I appreciate that frequently changing and adapting the way you use the tri stringer is a key part of the playstyle. using it has a very different feel compared to like any other weapon but I do enjoy playing this weapon a lot. it definitely gets more fun if you can get past the initially rough period of trying this weapon for the first time

@meguchy_3 ай бұрын
@@unl3ash3d95 I respect Prochara's opinion, but this is made by my own experience: stamper is a hard weapon bcz it isn't like any weapon. The beams are slow, meaning you have to take into account that your shots must have some kind of delay before it hits the enemy. Yes stamper is a top 5 weapon, but that doesn't mean it's not hard. And what about stringer then, it's a low tier weapon, and the only famous player playing it rn is Erito 😭. Saying that the charger class is the hardest class in the game is oversimplifying the argument: what type of charger do you play? You've been playing it since exactly when? Do you know how they work? Simplifying things by "it's the hardest weapon/class to master in this game" doesn't make sense. It depends on the player playing the weapon. I personally have difficulties playing shooters, even tho it's considered as the simplest class of the game, simply bcz I'm used to weapons like Slosher, stamper, machine, pencil, stringer. Moreover, pencil is one of the weapons dominating the meta rn, and it's a charger. Are people "glazing" it tho? Maybe. But I'm personally not the type of player to do that. Also, taking into account pro players opinion, people that play at the top level, that have experience since the very beginning of the franchise, makes sense no? They know a lot about the game, and ProChara does a great job bcz he actually knows a lot about the game. On an unrelated note I've been playing stamper since October 2022, before ProChara started talking about it.

As an ancient H3 main, I can say that it's quite a bit easier than it looks. It looks intimidating, but in reality it's just Rapid Blaster that trades cover abuse for oneshots and inking, and should be played as such- not turtling, not aiming for oneshots every time, but using its high immediate damage and reach to be oppressive. A lot of players just stand and spam burst after burst, either pretending they are a splatling or a marksman at a firing range, but that's how you get ran over, you gotta stay mobile and seek opportunities to lay easy 80 damage on someone, with hitting 120 being a nice bonus. And if someone's too hard to hit, there's no shame in fanning the burst to channel that inner Rapid Blaster. You lose your ability to oneshot and reasonably even do a 80 outside of shenanigans, but near guranteed 40 damage is nothing to sneeze at. The fire rate is identical to Rapid's, and H3's inking when fanned is FAT so it's great at catching opponents to then aim them down with a straight shot- particularly at max range, but unlike Rapid putting its blast's inking in front of the opponent, the fan catch is still potent up close as it doesn't have to worry about shooting the ground or jumping in combat. Overall, it's still not trivial, but it's not nearly as hard, slow and vulnerable as people think. Especially if you pack Opening Gambit, stock H3's kit is by far the best at sustaining its boost between free assists with sub and special and an effectively chip damage main, and even if you run out you've got Tacticooler to top back up with that sweet free mobility. Try it sometime. The L3 is lowkey the final boss of shooters. It's a lot more honest and less intuitive, and its advantage states are nowhere near as strong in 3 as they used to be because midrange is overall a lot stronger, 99.9 is not a thing, and it still hasn't recovered from the nerfs it got back then- at least Dualie Squelchers kinda deserved them, being strong before MPU and still decent after MPU, not the case with L3. But it still can get things done. Also, shoutout to my man Bloblobber. It's a devious beast, it seems braindead at first but "naive" Bloblobber skills don't transfer to proper aggressive Bloblobber. Take H3 I described above as the base, reduce its effective range (as in, where you have agency, not the opponent dodging does) to the point where it being kinda slow actually matters, make its projectiles slow enough that your own movement massively influences their heading (on top of requiring prediction and precision to hit oneshots), and add the hardest and the most satisfying cover abuse in the game. It still won't make the top 5 hardest weapons list, largely because you can always revert to naive Blob and just spam it if all else fails, but it's deceptively deep, and as an end result you get a kinda-sorta Stamper sidegrade with less consistency, but more inking, more cover abuse, and Kraken instead of Zipcaster.

I unfortunately have to disagree with your top pick. Stamper might be hard at first but I feel like it’s way easier once you pick it up and adapt to the play style(a lot of which requires using the range to your benefit). IMO well stringer is the hardest to learn right now. I feel like a lot of people are drawn to it due to the multiple arrows but once you cross the gap of facing people who AOE spam vs people who are timing each shot and adjusting to your position you notice it takes a lot of skill and tracking. You also have to remember to only use half shots when up close for the one shots because if your spread is too wide then you rely on chip damage which is so easy to do when you’re getting not in a good position. Definitely an easy to pick up but hard to master weapon. I would say it’s even harder than tri stringer because instead of pushing people away you’re constantly teetering between the idea of “should I push the enemy team or play offensive and get the kill” and making the wrong decision could make or break your backline due to its range where as tri stringers know to stay in the backline to survive. Oh and lets not forget neither kits give you any inking tools either(maybe stamp but not really 🤣)

The weapon is a melee weapon so it’s encouraging you to play like a frontline but if you remember to bait people more with the range before picking fights then it becomes a lot easier. It can be hard because it’s counterintuitive to a melee weapon play style but if you’re used to weapons with range gimmicks then it’s not so bad.

A lot of weapons in the game that were nerfed in Splatoon 2 but worked okay with main power up now are generally hard to play efficiently in a competitive and casual scene and it's a little annoying, especially as I know that a lot feel that Splatoon 3 is better for competitive compared to Splatoon 2.

Wow I guess I play hard weapons even as a solo grinder. I already mained the splat dualies when I started watching chase so I decided to pick up tetras, after that I started to watch SourBraix and I picked up new squiffer, then I was watching a lot of stamp gameplay and I started playing stamp and stamp is now my secondary. I usually pick the easy top tiers in games so I guess this is an outlier to my other competitive experiences.
@Grenze_Splatoon3 ай бұрын
I actually had a somewhat easy time playing stringers and tetras. I can easily flex to them and get somewhat decent results. Especially tetras. This is why a lot of videos are for one person or generalized, everyone has trouble with different things. Either that or I’m just cracked at this game and need to get replaced with a robot. But then again there’s tri slosher for me. I really struggle on the nuevue kit. I seem to be really good with hard things and pretty bad with good things, now that I’m thinking about it.
@SpaceCadet223 ай бұрын
It's funny, Tri-Stringer is my go-to pick when I'm having trouble using my main weapon or am off my game in certain modes - my main is Goo Tuber. Different play styles for sure, but I think the tough part with Tri-Stringer is aiming, and since I play Goober aggressively and sometimes too close, it's actually a lot easier for me to aim when I can take my time, comfortably sniping from further away and over walls/ledges. I was honestly kinda surprised seeing Goober on the thumbnail and not in the list.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the tenta brella. I main splatana stamper and sometimes that weapons feels harder to play. With the mix of very slow speed, very aggressive play, and the amount of awareness you need is baffling. It just might be hard for me, but I was surprised it didn't get an honorable mention. I decided just to stick to stamper, cause I didn't want to dedicate myself to what I thought was the hardest two weapons in the game lol.
@maru_spl3 ай бұрын
As a stamper AND tent main, I can confirm that both are insanely hard to learn and master. Stamper is a lot harder and more complex mechanically, and tent requires insane game awareness skills. The thing about tent is also that it doesnt only take skill in solo, but if you play competitive with a team, its like the entire team has to learn the weapon and how to play off of it effectively. Shouldve defo been a honorable mention at least
@Spookie_Dookie_Pookie3 ай бұрын
@@maru_spl True, I think one underrated factor of the weapon is that it plays aggressive but slow (because of it's movement speed). So the tent makes you have to have good discipline to play it well. If I played the game more, I'd definitely try to pick it up, but for now it just has to be one my fun weapons.

I disgree with Rebrella, and it being harder than Tent (which I totally think should be on this list.) I think what gives rebrella significant bias here is how good is it is combined with how hard it is to master - you will have to play better to win with rebrella, but at an equal skill level, I do believe tent is much harder. Tent is extremely slow and commital - backing out of an engagement can cost upwards of 10 seconds (brutal in a teamfight). It also has a lot of bad matchups into it, so it has to be very wary of who it is going after, heavy move speed, and how many positions it *can* play at (keep in mind how commital it is) all togther mean that tent plays a brutally different gameplan to any weapon, where it wants as much information as possible. It is super easy to mess up. Not to mention a suprisingly difficult aim requitrement - top tent players will not uncommonly miss oneshots due to it's shotgun nature forcing you to hit at the centre of the reticle, plus how close it is meaning opponents will be moving more distance on your screen.
@Chase2473 ай бұрын
Yeah tent is definitely a contender

I agree that tent is the hardest brella and I feel like everyone sleeps on it because of the lack of players that play the weapon. Keen made a really good tierlist for this concept. He plays stamper AND tent so his insights are really cool. I also want to add that stamper def has the hardest kit out of all the weapons in the game but imo just main weapon by itself tent is the hardest in the game
@mythlessrwf3 ай бұрын
I’d like to argue they’re equally difficult to play. The skill sets for Tent vs Rebrella are practically on polar opposite ends. While tent requires a more methodical, slow approach with huge emphasis on info gathering, rebrella requires you to rush in, disturb the peace, and create as much chaos as possible in the most creative ways you can think of in that moment You need to set up traps and create fake information with shield launches to even catch an enemy off guard. Almost every fight as a rebrella is do-or-die-you can’t sustain a drawn out battle unlike the other Brellas, you instead need to set up traps with your subs and play around the terrain to gain an equal or better the odds. It’s really hard to retain that momentum for how ink hungry it is and how weak its shield is

@a-ramenartist973422 күн бұрын
I'm a brella player. I think that, aside from kit strength, splat brella is probably harder to learn than recycled brella. Yes you have to learn shield launches, but the weapon is set up to be rather forgiving in that sense, and the main fire lines up pretty well with other main weapons like slosher, since you don't often flare with recycled, which is where the difficulty of splat brella comes from. In addition, recycled is a much more selfish weapon. You're primarily playing for your openings to get in and get kills. Of course all weapons have to play around their team, but splat brella especially does, meanwhile recycled is a more typical feeding weapon, if a little more reliant on its special than most because of undertuning.

For me, as much as I LOVE Brellas, I could never quite click with Tenta Brella. The sluggish movement (particularly the startup and endlag during a shot) and how long it takes to bring up your shield makes me lose all my muscle memory for Brella, and the damage falloff is so intense that I struggle to even kill because of how slow it fires. Hmm… I actually can’t think of a weapon that’s harder to use than those five. (At least for me that is). I would just slightly change the placement of the weapons. 1. Tri-Stringer 2. Stamper 3. H-3 4. Dualie Squelchers 5. Recycled brella Yeah I just moved Tri-Stringer to the top. The reasons being: 1. As mentioned in the video it requires nearly perfect accuracy and the hit box being insanely unforgiving doesn’t help either. 2. This has also been mentioned in the video but the weapon NEEDS players who know what they are doing because there are some things that makes this weapon even harder. 3. The weapon combos really bad with its own shots. One arrow deals 35 damage and the explosion 30. Because of this even if you hit two shots and quickly follow up with the next one there is a high chance the enemy survives because he already healed enough. Same goes for the 30 damage explosion. It happens regularly that the enemy survives this too since it deals exactly 100 damage. This makes it one of the few weapons in the game that can’t follow up on itself. 4. No sub that deals damage. (yeah sprinkler deals damage but come on it’s not used for that) Having no sub that can combo basically makes you even more dependent on your team to finish the job for you. So in short you are incredibly inconsistent and lack combo tools of your own which causes you to depend on your teammates like a parasite on its host. (Huh that was a long ramble😅)

I think, that Stamper ist difficult but u have to keep in mind that u have to hit every single shot with weapons like Squiffer or Reeflux, if u want to get any kills. In the most cases u can’t miss a shot and after that hit another without dying. U must have perfect Aim for that and in the case of stamper u just have to hit on charge Slash and the throw a burst bomb.(Ik that there are so many other combos to use but this is straight up the easiest way to kill someone and it’s not that difficult. And the kit of V Stamper just fits perfect. So the weapon isn’t bad(It’s straight up one of the best weapons in the game right now), and when u master it u r so powerful. But if u master Squiffer u have to be concentrated the hole time or u just die.
