You sir, truly need to do some research. Maine has the lowest crime rate in America, some of the cheapest land to buy, and natural beauty to spare. As a Mainer, how can somebody call this state a place with the “worst standard of living?”
@HotRod126674 күн бұрын
Exactly although I know people here that complain about the taxes. I’m a transplant from California and I can tell you that taxes here are not bad. And the fact that it’s the best place for cat parents is great. I have a cat. 😺
@CaliGirlJade4 күн бұрын
Honestly those things you stated have nothing to do with standard of living. Standing of living refers to the degree of wealth or material comfort available to a person or the community itself. Areas with high standard of living are going to be some of the wealthiest cities in the US with wealthy residents for example.
@GuPKay3 күн бұрын
Yes same, like Georgia does not have the issue with corrupt goverment issues and is known as a very nice place to live
@DavidCarroll9223 күн бұрын
I agree, in Maine, there is an issue of inequality, but that exists all over. Some towns are run down while others have country clubs and yacht clubs. However, dismissing Maine as having the worst standard of living is a stretch. I lived in West Virginia for a year, and not even the worst towns in Northern Maine can compare to some of the things I saw. Lots of natural beauty though…

The depression thing factors from our state having the some of the worst mental healthcare, here it’s not really taken too seriously, therapy here isn’t too affective, and wards or specialized hospitals don’t do anything too really help their patients, which leads too a lot of people faking that they’ve gotten better when they really haven’t.

I live in Allegheny County Pa just 9 miles from the city of Pittsburgh and honestly I’ve seen hundred and some vehicle accidents but out of that maybe seen 5 or 6 bike accidents and a few have been because of the driver of the car running the bicyclist off the side of the road or just driving in the bike lane. Sometimes it was kids playing chicken with cars 😅 I’m a firefighter and in the last 12 years we’ve all of a sudden had from 10 car accidents at most in a year to 50 to 60 in my town but the other station I’m at runs hundreds a year on the 376 and we get a few a day on average but yet motorcycles accidents are pretty common in comparison bicycles, BUT the trend of riding on public roads with E bikes is becoming a growing number and they aren’t using any kind of singles or helmets and wear dark clothes so they blend in. My friend Jordan has an E scooter but he has a full helmet and wears a traffic vest and has lights and turn signals on it so people have an easier time seeing him on the road and yet he got hit by a drunk driver and totaled his scooter and has a broken foot out of it.

That North Dakota has the most workplace fatalities probably has nothing to do with office desks and related injuries (paper cuts, typing elbow, computer screen eye injuries). These office "injuries" are mostly alleged by female employees and cost businesses a lot of $$; meanwhile, with North Dakota's oil boom, men are dying in oil rigs, i.e. actual injuries.

North Dakota is my home state and it’s the worst place to be because of construction! Every summer the whole state is basically under construction to repair their roads from the winter and sugar beet and potato harvest season. Those trucks break down the roads quickly. Same with our highways since most things have to be transported here by semi trucks. I’d say that North Dakota would be the worst state for alcohol and drug abuse or even car accidents. Somehow everyone forgets how to drive when winter comes around!
