I've lived in Michigan my whole life (39 years) and never heard anyone here even mention a turtle unless you see one while you're fishing or an unfortunate case of roadkill... I love Michigan, though. Four seasons, tons of fresh water lakes, amazing national parks, despite what people hear about the cities (Flint and Detroit lol), those cities have great food places and Detroit especially has a great history. Ann Arbor is such a great city as well.

I agree, in Maine, there is an issue of inequality, but that exists all over. Some towns are run down while others have country clubs and yacht clubs. However, dismissing Maine as having the worst standard of living is a stretch. I lived in West Virginia for a year, and not even the worst towns in Northern Maine can compare to some of the things I saw. Lots of natural beauty though…

@@thekarlkeeper8727 Not from Kentucky but, east Tennessee. When I was a teenager, there was a church my parents made me go to (because what kid actively wants to go to church on their own whim) where smoking was overly prevalent. It was one of those primitive Baptist churches that are normally found in very out-of-the-way places. Even though the church was overly Calvinistic and conservative, they were totally fine with cigarette usage. So much so that the church members (including the preacher) would take smoke breaks on the porch of the tiny church house before the first service, during the lunch period that is between the first and second services (because primitive Baptist churches do two different sermons in one day that the churchgoers are encouraged to attend), and after the second service. Because these types of churches also believe children should never be separated from their parents (which is why there is not a nursery or Sunday school in those churches) that also meant kids (specifically kids under the age of 10, that was when they had kids there because these churches are mostly populated by elderly people) had to be by their parents sides. This meant the kids had to be with their parents when they smoked. I am so glad I have the right of way to make decisions as to whether I want to go to church anymore, which I don't ever want to ever again.

Ohio: "Worst air pollution" Yeah I'm going to need a citation for that. The EPA designates areas as being in attainment or non-attainment for air quality standards. The state with the most non-attainment areas is California. More to the point, there are various levels, and Fresno is in "extreme" non-attainment for ozone. Cleveland is only at "moderate". Now I wonder what other stats on this list are wrong.

So just checked, and not only does Alabama's sales tax rate get blown out of the water by New Hampshire, Montana, Delaware, and Oregon which don't have state or local sales tax; but Alabama actually has one of the highest combined state and local sales tax! Definitely take this video with an extra dose of salt.
