Great recommendations. I took you up on Floris Elite and purchased two sample card vials. I liked the initial scent but that morphed into something I wasn't as sure about. Great list, Max, my Dad swore by Clubman, too. I wore the similar Canoe through college in the seventies but find the current formula a bit cheap-smelling. Brut still rocks, I agree, and for the price...👍

Great video! I love At The Barber’s, gives me a more modern feel of Drakkar Noir which I loved wearing in 93’ when I was 13yrs old. I recently picked up a bottle of Drakkar for nostalgic reasons. I'm all over this genre!!! I use Pinoud Club Man after I shave, poor performance but I feel the scent adds luxury to a good DE shave. My top 5 aromatic fougere/ barbershop fragrances D&G By Men YSL Rive Gauche Penhaligans Sartorial Paco Robanne Pour Homme Nobile 1945 Nobile Fougere Really need to try MMM At the barbers but heard the drydown is odd, love By the Fireplace, Beach Walk and Jazz Club.

@@TheBTEAMwins I really like it. To me, its powdery and sweet w/ lavender and almond. It sits close to the skin on me (not a big projection) but thats fine with me and it does have good longevity. I'd also say sillage is decent. I agree w/ other reviewers that say it has a mature and classy vibe while at the same time, the sweetness makes it also modern and somewhat youthful. I personally never really go with big bottles for starters (unless its getting a frag is getting discontinued) because there is always the chance you may get bored with it after a while but thats up to you. Cant belive u took le male in this list! Its such a classic scent. Although its overused, i still use this when i go to the club. Its such a magnet fragrance and girls really love it Of all these you got in your list, which would be the best replacement for a 20 yr old thats go to the club? My favorite, Is your favorite, Dolce Gabanna pour homme, Ive used it ever since it came out, The original, the Italian version, I own 6 bottles, With the original boxes, 125 ml, Yes a bit excessive, But as you know its getting harder and harder to get hold of these, they wont last forever. Hey Jeremy, these are older formulations. Back in the day many came in as Splash then soon after the spray caught on and that was that for splash bottles. I actually decant mine into a travel size sprayer as I prefer to spray... ;)

That Zino by Davidoff caught my interest. I’ve been looking for a Barbershop Gourmand. Though personally I’d like to get one that highlighted Lavender and Coffee, personally. Capture that smell of a Dad’s morning routine moreso than a barbershop. Shaving cream and Coffee lingering in the air, hint of Vanilla, A recently lit fireplace, butter and toast, then take those rich warm inviting scents and brighten them up with a splash of lime and a hint of mint. Unfortunately, my much desired fragrance doesn’t exist right now. :/

My list would include Aramis Tuscany Per Uomo, Zino Davidoff, and Patchouli by Lorenzo Villoresi. An honorable mention is a recent acquisition which is Valentino Vendetta Pour Homme. Other than samples, I currently only own two aftershaves, and they are English Leather and Captain's Choice Lime (a citrus take on bay rum).

This easily one of my favorite fragrance review videos yet. I can't believe you held up the Brut Cologne on steroids 25.6 oz bottle! I bought that a few years ago for $14 during the annual Target online fragrance sale and tell everyone about it. Brutworld USA has told me it's based on the original Faberge formula but who know? The best part of it is that it's in glass, unline their drugstore plastic bottles. Considering you're starting off with aftershaves, it's ironic that you need SOME gizenta shave in this video! I don't know even where to start with the aftershaves as I straddle the line between the fragrance and shaving communities. You should look into vintage Old Spice by Shulton as P&G's Classic Old Spice hasn't been the same since a few years after they bought it in 1990. I'm going to list the ones you should look into, but not in any particular order: The entire *Clubman line* (the ones you mentioned + Citrus Musk, Lime Sec. Special Reserve. Clubman Vanilla and even Lilac Vegetal. They just introduced three new scents - Gent's Gin, Whiskey Woods and Brandy Spice. Nothing cools the skin more *Jeris Osage Rub* - smells like Vicks Vapo Rub but cools the skin wonderfully *Floid Mentolado Vigoroso* - Floid is a brand made in Spain and is absolutely great for the skin after a shave *Proraso* Green or Red - The Red is their sandalwood and also makes the skin feel great after a shave *Joop* - only some famous fragrances still issue aftershave lotions and Joop's is excellent and includes witch hazel in the formula *Colognes/Edt's* Paul Sebastian (aftershave version is as strong as some edt's) Chanel Pour Monsiuer (my signature office scent for meetings throughout the 1980's). I wore the cologne concentree splash which was probably stronger than today's edp version. Tabac - aftershave, cologne and edt (edt has a slightly different scent) Penhaligon's Sartorial Royal Copenhagen Regular or Musk British Sterling English Leather Regular and Spiced by Mem (smells like Old Spice) Lagerfeld Classic Paco Rabanne Pour Homme Habit Rouge Giorgio for Men by Giorgio of Beverly Hills Aramis or Aramis Tuscany Halston Catalyst (think Old spice & Lagerfeld Classic combined but only in the vintage version) Some like you also include Azzaro Pour Homme but I consider that more of a sexy after work scent or when you wanted to impress a woman on the job. The bottle I bought in the 1980's was smoother and stronger than the version of today which retains the general heart of the scent. It gave me my all time greatest compliment by a stunning looking young woman.at a major 5th Avenue fashion house. I used to buy the splash bottles but I haven't seen them in decades. Is that a vintage bottle you have? For honorable mention, I would include the long discontuned Paul Sebastian VSOP, Davidoff's Good Life and Ralph Lauren's Safari. I agree about the greatness of Eau Pour Home by Armani but I never really looked at it as a barbershop scent. I bought it back in the 1980's and looked at it as a summer scent. I had a gent ask what would be a fougere that is a little different... Sartorial to me is that scent metal, honey, and fougere elements. It is just wonderful. Great list and think you should give Phoenix Artisans Accoutrements Atomic Bayrum a try... Not so much lavender an amazing aftershave imo.

Your selections are great but I really think that you need to look at Artisan Wet Shaving Companies that are producing real lavender smelling aftershave/colognes. If you haven't tried The Holy Black Lavender Creeper then have not experienced the ultimate in lavender shave soaps or aftershaves. The "creeper" is a cooling agent that comes on strong and holds on which doesn't foul the lavender smell. Phoenix Artisan Accouterments makes vegan shave soaps and splashes which ride the fence between aftershave and cologne due to the percentages of oil and hydrosols they use. Your eyes will be opened when you see what this shops are doing. I look forward to your wet shaving aftershave video of the future.

Your bottle of Brut is out-of-control! I love YSL Rive Gauche-- great lasting power on me. I wish Azzaro Pour Homme lasted longer on me. For some reason it vanishes after one hour. A shame because I love it. Do you think an older vintage bottle would perform better? I want to try Fougère Royale.

Brutworld USA told me that Brut bottle is based on the original Brut formula by Faberge but these young reps from P&G and Helen of Troy/Idelle labs (Old Spice and Brut, respectively) are quite often unaware of the history of the brands. For example, Brut was purchased by Unilever for Europe and uses the weaker Brut 33 formula which was released in 1968. I picked up the 757 ml bottle for $14 during a holiday sale a few years ago and the full bottle looks so great on the shelf that I really don't want to open it! It stands majestically above everything else!

As far as Azzaro Pour Homme, there's no question, if you find a vintage bottle it will last forever, it's very powerful! Current formulations are extremely watered down!
