My FGAC5044W1 had an EC code but F decided not to replace it since my Amazon Invoice showed Woot but they said Woot is not an authorized reseller. Woot is a wholly owned subsidiary of Amazon. Then I noticed another reviewer on Amazon had the same experience in 2022. Outrageous really.

The Hisense DH3020K1W bought a year and a half ago seems to work fine. The one problem is that the once cool basement is much warmer. Btw, this Hisense i have was just a valve in back which i screwed a piece of hose onto with no removal of a any drawer or anything. Just thread the hose on and drain into wherever you want. The heat ing up of basement is not good, but i guess they all do it.

Is forenheight a new measurement I am not aware of ?
@grantandre79 Жыл бұрын
I’m pretty sure he’s saying “65 degrees for a night”… a time measurement rather than temperature? Still confusing since I’d assume most DOE measurements should be in exact time like 24 hours. But maybe dehumidifiers only need to run “for a night” regardless of whether you measure in Kelvin, Fahrenheit or Celsius? 😅

Yes. Larger units remove moisture faster and can therefore be used in much larger and/or more humid spaces.
@jeffthomas62424 жыл бұрын
According to her it does! No but, they all take garden size hoses. One thing that is never mentioned in these reports is that a lot of times the hose will get completely clogged and the internal bucket will fill up with water which will cause the unit to shut off. No one ever cleans the hose out which it should be every once in a while.

Thank you for the informative video. After reviewing multiple commentaries, I think we'll forgo the internal pump and use a gravity drain via hose to sump pump (as we do now). My Whirlpool dehumidifier is approaching 25 years old and its time for an upgrade I think. Two questions: can the hose be longer than, say, eight feet (the recommended size, not sure why) and does the model you demonstrated have a long enough A/C chord (3-4 feet) as I would prefer not to use an extension chord on a unit such as this for safety reasons. Thank you.
@consumer-analysis4 жыл бұрын
Theoretically, yes, the hose could be longer, although there's no way to know for sure if the water will drain properly without actually trying to run a longer hose with your exact setup. I measured the length of the FFAD5033W1's power cord at 6 ft.

Thanks for making this video. You guys do a really thorough job in all of your reviews. I'm thinking of using a dehumidifier with an evaporative cooler because my girlfriend complains sometimes about the humidity in the house even though we have some of the windows open a bit, and we live in Colorado where the humidity is typically 30-35%. Any thoughts about using a dehumidifier with an evaporative cooler? I thinke the dehumidifer generates some heat, but not that much. I may be able to link the two units together so that the water captured by the dehumidifier drains back into the swamp cooler.

My original intention for this humidifier was to use it for plants that require high moisture levels. After using it in my room, kzbin.infoUgkxtD9aJ2m6GU-X1IChQxjn9l31K1A7Kpwj however, I think that's where it is going to stay in the fall and winter season at least. The increased humidity in my room made the room warmer and more comfortable. I had first ran the humidifier for 4 hours with the timer setting for it. After the first hour, I checked my room and can feel the difference. When the full 4 hours was up, I checked again and noticed that the humidifier was shut off as it is suppose to. The moisture level never seem to get passed 56/57%. I then let it run until all the water is used up, which it wasn't all used up. There are still some left in the base that you are not suppose to add water to. I filled up the water tank all the way again, being careful when removing it from the base. Some left over water may spill out. After putting it back on and setting the unit to auto, I let it operate. It didn't stop running, rather I don't know if it did at any point since I didn't check it regularly, for 24 hours after which the water in the tank ran out. The moisture reading never passed 56/57%, which may be a good thing for me. Being situated right next to my bed, the noise was not very noticeable with the occasional water gurgle from time to time as the unit ran.
