Buy the Bosch GAS18V-3N 18V 2.6 gallon Vacuum on Amazon: amzn.to/2MWC15g
Yes, The Best Cordless Vac! - Finding a good small wet/dry vac that is quiet is pretty impossible. It seems the smaller the vacuum gets the louder they are. Not in this case! Bosch Tools rocked the design of the GAS18V-3N 18-Volt Wet/Dry Vacuum to make it small, easy to use, powerful and quiet. The design looks simple and its ease of use along with all the other attributes makes this the absolute best cordless wet/dry vacuum that you can buy. It is also priced very well at $119, and that includes a standard washable HEPA filter. The quality of build is superb, with a 6-foot kink free hose that is very flexible to the IPX4 rated design with a fuel gauge outside the vac next to the power button. The circular tub creates an internal cyclone and also allows you to snap on the motor housing at any point you want. No searching for just the right spot for the top to fit. This new wet/dry vac will run on any Bosch 18-volt battery, so anything from a 2.0 Ah slim pack the current 6.3 Ah Core18V battery will work.
Runtime is everyone's concern when it comes to battery-operated vacuums. Bosch claims this vac will run 4 minutes per amp-hour of the battery. We found the numbers to vary quite a bit. For example, we did a lot of testing with the Core 18V 6.3 Ah battery and found that the vacuum running in the corner with no use would run for 30 minutes. If you were using the vacuum under normal dry situations, the runtime dropped to 25 minutes. If you were using the vacuum for wet situations, the runtime dropped to 20 minutes. So the harder you use the vacuum, the less runtime you will see, but the claim of 4 minutes per amp hour is very accurate for normal use. Runtime on the GAS18V-3N is very respectable!
The Bosch GAS18V-3N is rated at 51 CFM and is a vacuum only. There is no option to use this as a blower. Included with this vacuum is a washable HEPA filter. If you plan to use this vacuum on the jobsite, that is important and it is a huge bonus as it is not needed to be purchased after the fact. Remember the price on this vac? It's only $119 as a bare tool, with a HEPA filter, all the attachments, and an amazing hose.
Bosch calls the cyclone effect this vacuum creates "Rotational Airflow Technology". The cyclone help with sustained suction, due to a special structure of the vacuum canister. That special structure is circular. There is no doubt that it works and we show the vac working in the video. We had this vac connected to a saw and also just cleaning up a mess and the items in the container were always spinning around and keeping the filter free and clear to help with suction.
We are wet/dry vacuum snobs and this is by far the best wet/dry vacuum on the market at this time. Noone matches the quality of construction, noise level or runtime that this vacuum offers. Plus the price makes it affordable to many.

Mike, that is one reason why I do not get married to one battery platform. There will be a 15% off sale this weekend at Acme tools, so you can get this vac, a battery and a charger for less than normal. I have kids and stairs and the corded vac is just heavy and dangerous and does not stay on the steps. This is the best solution. I leave it in the closet and use for quick cleanup and spills that are common with young children. Just what mom needed for daily clean up on window sills, stairs. hard flooring, hair, smashed crumbs and yes, cars and trucks. We even took it camping. Lowes, $139 with Core18V 4.0ah battery and charger. The battery and charger would cost at least that much alone and it works with all my other Bosch tools. Super stoked. thanks again.

I bought one yesterday. I was very pleased with it's performance. I did think based on Bosch advertised pics, there would be a shoulder strap, plus there are "lock loops" on the top handle. What aftermarket strap would work? All the straps in my shop are single point for string trimmers and pole saws. Already talked with Bosch and they're looking into it. Don't want to "void" my warranty using an unapproved piece of equipment on it! LOL

I've gotta say this sounds like a great option, but if I were to buy it, it would mean needing to get another charger and a couple of batteries. read some negative reviews on Amazon, some saw suction was not good while others said the opposite, strange? One of the more mentioned complaints was a little red ring that hold the hose or attachments on breaks easy? Most of the negative comments were no battery or charger comes with it but, we should all know for that price you wouldn't get those. Being I am already in the Bocsh format with several batteries I will give this a try for our motorhome projects rather than bring in a bigger shop vac that needs a cord and gets banged against the woodworking

@WorkshopAddict

It will work with that dust port. It might be slightly light for complete dust collection on a miter saw as a larger vac would suck in more dust from around the cut. This will take everything thrown into the dust port without issue.

51 CFM? That's horrible. Come on Bosch, if Ryobis latest does 100CFM...then Bosch can surely do better. Granted, Hepa filter is a great feature, but 51 CFM is pathetic. But nice video Brian and thank you for always showing us some cool tools!
@jpslattery7344
@jpslattery7344 6 жыл бұрын
If you are referring to the Ryobi P770 (big boy on wheels), they rate it at 80 CFM but it's also a 6 gallon unit so I would expect a need for greater airflow. The comparable Ryobi in terms of size would be the 3 gallon P3240 which is rated up to 45 CFM while the 2 gallon Milwaukee (0882-20) is also 45 CFM. It seems that Bosch is within the same area as everyone else in this size class of wet/dry vac. One needs to compare apples to apples...

@@WorkshopAddict welp, that's good enough for me. ;) I'm switching alot of my tools to Bosch now (especially a lot of my Dewalts). I always said they will never have a good cordless tool until they fix those horrible batteries. And now that they did, and it's been heavily tested, I was only part right. They didn't become good... They became great. I'm super stoked about the Left Blade version of the StrongArm (the 7-¼ circular saw with plunge and track feature). No one seems to make a left blade 7-¼ track saw. And all right blade track saws are silly ... it baffles me to this day, since most of the tool users are right handed (and I lost use of left arm 11 years ago) yet everyone makes their true track saws right bladed. And a 6-½" blade??? C'mon?!?!? It's like everyone just kind of accepted it and went with it and 7-¼ were just left in the dust for tracks capability. All bosch needs now is to bring their PBD-40 (variable speed, digital drill press) to the US !! (Or at least make it 120v so we can import it without having to convert it and kill the warranty lol.) If bosch did that, US woodworkers would lose their minds lol. Can ya tell I'm excited??? Lmao. Thanks again for the video. :)

@@carterscustomrods see if you can find an adapter from dewalt to bosch batteries
@carterscustomrods
@carterscustomrods 3 жыл бұрын
@@WorkshopAddict I co sidereal that, but the Dewalt batteries have declined (along with so many other Dewalt staples.) About the only tool left that Dewalt is "The Best" with is their Oscillating tool. SB&D has truly destroyed the brand these past few years. :( 60% of my tools were Dewalt, but now I'm going to be down to just 2, or 3. My biggest issue is miter saw. The DWS779 was always the best value. I bought one a few months ago, and they reallllly stripped that tool down to a Ryobi level. I was looking at the Bosch Miter , and it is awesome, but I don't see it having a decent dust collection aspect. And for that price, it should have a much better dust collection design.

“The Ridgid might be more powerful but it’s really really loud”. Honestly how loud could it be? When someone says something is “really really” loud I’m thinking standing next to a speaker at a Guns N Roses concert. In terms of it being loud for a shop vac, I’m sure it’s not that loud either.

It's wet/dry but you only reviewed dry. The problem is wet use. You fill it one time you're done. The filter gets wet and you get NO suction until you either wait for the filter to dry or have a number of dry spares.
