Great show. Photography Online has become one of my favorite channels on YT. As for the small beach, I can fully understand Harry’s excitement. I came across this video only this weekend. However, I visited this beach somehow by accident three weeks ago, when I visited Lewis and Harris for the first time. This place is really beautiful.

I have a set of questions for 1 topic and I hope you consider answering it in a future segment. ETTR, ETTL or perfectly expose; which method to follow? Can one be generalized for all genres? Does the style (dark and moody vs bright and airy) play a role in this choice? I can't formulate anymore questions, but I hope the idea makes sense.

Great show again. It’s surprising to see such similar landscapes and seascapes Scotland and the Eastern part of Canada have in common. But I would trade with pleasure some of your castles with our harsh winter. We are still having a lot of snow this week.

Thank you for another brilliant show. I had to Video a Biker funeral a while ago and although it came out alright it is so good to get some simple explanation of how to Video properly. I also found the Camera settings so simplified and useful to set up my camera for wildlife type photography. I think you are fast becoming the first emergency service to the photography sector. Just love it.

Your video inspired me. I went to the beach found some large piles of rocks and used slow shutter but I will have to try again with a wide angle lens. I had a Canon 100-300mm on and was afraid to change lens in a the windy beach conditions.
@PhotographyOnline
@PhotographyOnline 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Suzie. Great to hear you’re getting out with your camera. You’re right that a wide angle lens will probably give better results as you can then bring the foreground right into the face of the shot.

Harry, I have been following your video segments closely, and am on the verge of upgrading my phone for?? You speak highly of Dolby Vision, but I have reports that it’s difficult to edit outside of Apple, which I am, but not opposed to iPhone. Other phones considered, Samsung S22, Sony Xperia 1iii. My video edit is now done on Davinci Resolve. Your Dolby comments invite me, but is there a downside in the back room?
@PhotographyOnline
@PhotographyOnline 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mahlon. You are correct that to get the benefits of Dolby Vision you need to edit with the Dolby ecosystem. As far as we know, this is only on Apple products at the present time. So iMovie would be the best platform to edit with. we are not sure about Davinci, but these things change all the time. In the future, more platforms will support DV. We have no experience of the other phones you list, so we can’t really offer any advice or comparison here. Thanks for watching and for asking the question.

Happy birthday 🎂🎉 Harry great Show 1 question I am just learning about my New Camera when you were talking about the Al servo 1st image priority you stated you have to make priority to the shutter if you want full shots your camera can take them put the lever to the speed? Vs to the focus?
@hmphotography
@hmphotography 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Doug - it varies from camera to camera, but on some yes, if the camera's priority for 1st image is set to focus, rather than shutter, then it can limit how quickly it will take the image, as well as the maximum frames per second (fps) it will shoot at. Essentially if you want the camera to shoot at it's highest possible frame rate and speed then the priority needs to be on the shutter, but this comes at the possible cost of not being totally perfectly focussed.

Sorry for beeing a sour grumpy Guy here but i have always found your show great.. however this last show does irritatate me …. ISO is NOT part of exposure in digital photography, it does NOT change sensitivity of the sensor.. its artificial GAIN added after exposure, it does not generate noise at all it just amplifies all of the signal INCLUDING the noise.. in film this was diffrent but then again it was also called ASA back then..
