I went to Con Dao 2017 by myself, and it was so chill. No tourists at all and i had the most relaxing and amazing time ever. I loved it! I was the only westerner on the airplane over there =)

Были там в 2016 и 2017 году. Жили в отеле Con Dao Resort оба раза. В 2016 году туристов было настолько мало, что 90% даже на английском не говорили. Там супер было красиво и дико, особенно в горах. Ездили, а потом шли пешком на другую часть острова, очень круто: природа, тишина, дикие обезьяны за нами прыгали, впечатлений море было. В 2017 погода сильно подвела: 14 дней дожди и только 1 час было солнце. В море заходили всего 4 раза по 1 минуте, просто умирали от скуки. А 2016 году нам 14 дней не хватило насладиться этим классным и "диким" островом (в то время). В 2017 году пришлось не купать, а кататься по тем местам на скутере, которые в 2016 года не объездили. И в восточной стороне острова, на высоком повороте попали в сильный ветер (я никогда такой ветер не встречал), слезли с мопеда прям на дороге, я упирался чтобы мопед вместе со вной не улетел, жена держалась за за него смеялась и кричала мне, хотя я ничего не слышал на расстоянии 50 сантиметров )). Это мы запомнили на всегда. Тогда погода была крайне плохая. В одно утро пошли пешком гулять, а на дорогах и траве лежали заборы после ночного урагана. В 2016 только один день было плохая погода. В этот день был тоде сильный ветер, решили взять велосипеды и покататься по поселку. Было не обычно кататься в отлив по дну моря. Нашел большую ракушку, привез домой. А вообще, так классно если с погодой повезет. Люди никуда не торопились, тишина даже в будний день. Улицы были днем свободны, просто райское место от суеты если погода вам повезет.

With the Bus to Soc Trang, Go to the Office of the ferry (Google Maps) buy the Tickets für the next das and be punctual at the Office there...

From Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao, there is direct 1 hour flight (1,7 milj VND) many times a day. Second option is to travel from Saigon to visit Vung Tau and from there you have a option to take a Speed Ferry (660 000 - 880 000 VND) what will take 4 hours to Con Dao or by helicopter (2,2 milj.) in 30 minutes.
