I also appreciate that she uses grams instead of cups (she states both) it makes conversions and doubling or halting things easier. Also I’ve learnt the best recipes use weights not cups for measurements. Dunno why.

My son loves your food. My son is 15 months old now and when he started eating solids I realized how few things I cooked that were beginner friendly haha. You channel is wonderful. Whenever I run out of ideas I turn to it and everything is so tasty. My family thanks you!

Thank you for this recipe Nicky, I cooked it last night and it was a huge success, my only deviation from your recipe was to add two small red chillis to bring the heat level up a bit. So it has now been added to a growing list of your recipes that have become firm favourites of ours.

Wow this is the best cooking show I have come across I would highly recommend it to everyone it's very down to earth easy to follow..the videos give me confidence to try out new recipes and I really like the way they keep to the point not showing us how to chop an onion for 20-minutes.. thanks Nicky your doing a great job... regards Paul

I followed the recipe without wine and used our pressure cooker instead for about 30 minutes under low pressure, then simmering for 45 minutes. Family love it.

Wow, that Ragu looks really scrumptious and delicious. I do so enjoy watching your videos and trying your recipes. This is definitely on the list for the weekend with a glass of red wine or two! Great recipe, I have my own which almost the same but I add a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce and also my own made sun dried tomato and balsamic vinegar paste, adds a little more richness!

Love, love, LOVE slow cooked food!! This looks just delicious. If one needed to avoid gluten, do you think almond flour would work? Or should we just skip that ingredient? One of my fave food channels, I look forward to your uploads!

If you don't like red wine use Balsamic vinegar. Its all about the acidity just use a quarter cup or a good splash or do it by spoon till it tastes right.

Muy buena receta....asi es como se hace el "ragu di carne classico" Emiliano (Emilia-Romagna), sirviendose con pastas finas, tipo spaghetti (yo utilizo aprox. una cucharada sopera colmadita de manteca de cerdo en vez de aceite de oliva, ya que la manteca le da un punto de grasa y jugosidad muy bueno al guiso...es lo que se utilizaba originalmente, pues el aceite de oliva se incorporo mucho despues). Muchas gracias por el video y por compartit la receta.

Thanks Mary, so glad you're enjoying the recipes. I do bake cakes but not too often. We love a fruit cake and homemade Battenberg. I have a video for the fruit cake (well Christmas cake) and a recipe for the Battenberg on our site.

Does looks quite delicious that, if you dont have the time or rather somebody else does the cooking (and you live in the UK) then i just cant recommend Pasta Evangelists enough, the Ragu i had from there was quite extraordinary

Ooh looks awesome, that broadly follows my go-to recipe which is great to know. One thought, how do you feel about adding milk to the dish when cooking it? I hear it stops the wine from making the outside of the beef too mushy but interested to hear your thoughts.

That is AMAZING and very well presented, thank you! I adore that basic soffritto/mirepoix based long time low temp stewed dishes. They belong to the most incredible culinary transformations on earth ;) Do you know Richard Olney? What do you think of him? Imo, he has some mindblowing tips wrt stews and skimming techniques.
