The BEST BMW Digital Dashboard Gauge Cluster! | E90 E92 328i 335i REVIEW

After having installed this in to my 335i there is a piece of advice I would give to anyone who is about to install it. The service intervals for your vehicle are stored in the OEM analogue cluster. Make a note of how many miles or months you have left for each service (oil, brakes, filter etc). When you fit the digital cluster, you can then program it to know how long each item has left before a service inspection is due. I didn't do this, and my new digital cluster is telling me that my next service is due in 2106. I now have to take the digital cluster out, plug in the original one, write down what the service intervals should be, and then re-install the digital gauge.

If you have the apple car play screen that you put in the center of your dash above the ac, and the digital clusters WILL NOT go into imperial change the settings on the car play screen to mpg mph. I was stuck for the past days on metric and finally found how to fix it!

For me, it would not read my petrol tank correctly. It would constantly fluctuate from 100 miles to 10 miles then 50 miles and then say I had an empty tank. In the end i got tired of not knowing how much petrol I had so had to sell it on

I have an E93 with adaptive cruise control, dynamic bi-xenon and quite a lot of extras. I tried this for 1 week. In general this would seem to work well with most of the common American specs of the E9x, but any of the more highly specced ones should stay very well clear of this cluster. The less common features are poorly supported. Some not at all. Adaptive cruise control? It works, but no info on the screen. If a vehicle in front brakes hard or comes to a stop, there is no warning. Cruise control disengages without warning you in advance. Roof information is...poor, e.g. if someone opens a door while operating the roof, or the passenger door isn't quite closed, etc. Dynamic headlights (auto high-beam/low-beam) confuses the cluster. Auto high-beam "on" doesn't show on the cluster. Sometimes the system won't properly recognize an oncoming vehicle and you turn off the high-beam manually, and this then turns ON the blue high-beam symbol in the cluster...even though it is now off. EDIT: It seems a new version of the cluster (a friend decided to buy one) actually breaks adaptive cruise control AND the iDrive. After installing the cluster, cruise control doesn't work at all. It just gongs and an error message is on the cluster. The iDrive didn't seem affected until we decided to clear the fault codes with the original BMW scanner (at the shop). After clearing the codes, the iDrive reset and is completely blank. The iDrive on the E90s talks to the cluster and now this fails.

for mail tank just basically punch in your models fuel capacity so you can google up BMW E92 fuel capacity and punch it in. Should be 16.1 gallons and then just convert to liters

How do you solve that milage is all wrong in the different ECU of the car? Error codes of the car will have wrong milage (usually 100miles or milage from OEM cluster at the day of taking it out). I have the same cluster for testing and they don't properly emulate the KOMBI ecu, so data is not correctly pushed back to the car systems.

The Digital Cluster can only read mileage, not write it. Because of this the cluster can be automatically set to whatever mileage you have without throwing a tamper dot. I’m sure you could have it software flashed to match the ECU of the car if you ever remove it.

It's just a downside that all error codes have the wrong milage and there might be issues when when registering a new battery (DME ECU will stick at mileage of OEM cluster). Also there might be some effort to get old cluster in to adjust its mileage. IMO this is a design flaw they should fix hopefully by update. It's just odd to see 100km in my error codes :(

@@watty45256 I found settings in Factory -> 0169 where you can scroll down below the 'return' and loop back to the top of the list. The first 2 options 'Front Tire Exchange' and 'Door info', set them to 'Not'. That did the trick for me. Not sure if it screws up any other functions, but the front and rear doors show the correct status on my right hand drive. Hope it helps.

agreed… the older software version does not have the G80 but won’t show animation of doors being open (just notification) so you can technically disable it. agreed it makes no sense haha luckily if you keep the always on information (coolant temps, etc) you’ll never really see it unless the doors open

Anyone know the best "main tank" and "sub tank" values when programming in 0168. My 2006 bmw 325i fuel gauge has been finicky with this cluster. Not sure what I should set it to. Got a full tank of gas had 460 range. Drove 6 miles and I dropped to 270.
