Eclat is really good. I ran the Talon brakes for a couple years before my bike was stolen. The bike shops were all out of stock on the Talon brakes, so i got some Evo 2.5 with some Odyssey Ghost pads. The Ghost pads are female as well, and i've been liking them

Ive been looking for a set of talons. Hard to find in stock anywhere. I have evo2s with the force pads and they work awesome. I just really like the look of the talons. Hopefully they restock them soon

I just sanded my pads down on my skateboard a little bit. Cleaned the rim with alcohol as well. Only squeaks when going backward.

My favourite brake pads, sometimes a bit difficult to get hold of in the UK.

They used to have issues with chunking on chrome rims. Odyssey slim by fours were my fav clear pads but I like the female design. so a tip to keep your pads wearing evenly and working perfect brand new out the box is sand them down slightly and instead of toeing them in or anything like that kinda drop the edges of the very front and back sorta like how ghost pads are with the center section high. then set them up to hit flat and with that little bit of give in the pads have it actually sit 100% flat on the rim. barely need to drop the front and back edges just a tad. but sand em down once every bit if need be clean your rim and thats it. theyll wear even and less likely to chunk but feathering can be a pain.

I have these and wouldn't ride any other pads. I had a set of ghost pads they worked but were loud af. I change out to kool stop bmx pads for trails when I don't need to stop dead. Also helps eliminate unwanted noise at the trails

I haven't seen any other pads that have this much material on them either. Leads me to believe they will last a really really long time when installed correctly the entire time.

Try Kool Stop clear pads for super grip, or salmon color pads for a less aggressive grip.

The Odyssey pads that come with the Springfield Brake Kit (Ghost I believe) don’t have a protruding stud. I have black pads and rims both, so my pads suck. I’m ordering these Eclat pads ATM due to your review. Thanks man!

Your brake arm needs a slight adjustment. They actually make a tool that allows you to slide it over the brake arm and slightly twist the arm for proper contact . It straightens out the arm and therefore your pad contact is spot on. Put those new pads without the adjustment and they’ll wear exactly the same as the original pads. It’s science bruh. In a pinch you can use an adjustable wrench.

One of the reason I stopped riding gum /clear pads is the tip ripping off like yours did here... Fly had some that were bad for that... Getting 11 months is pretty good though
@badfourlife
@badfourlife 3 жыл бұрын
Also gum and clear pads collect like 5x as much dust compared to red/black pads
@Brant_Moore

Understandable man. I haven’t had the issue a lot but 11 months is such a long time. Especially since they would’ve lasted longer if installed right
@grabslide
@grabslide 2 жыл бұрын
They would be even better if you just couldreplace inserts like in road bike pads and i'm pretty sure that they would not rip even if instaled with too much toe in

We cried out for these soft pads for years. Who remembers the standard Dia Compe AD990 cantilever style pads that were like pressing two pieces of plastic against your rim? Chrome rims were the only thing that made them work but not Alex Supra E, the chrome was shit on them. Sun BFR were the best.

@@Brant_Moore I solved that. I took one of the spacers off the brake pad that would be on the outside of the brake arm. Thus keeping the nut on the male brake pad out the way, and it worked fine.
