In this video, we take an in-depth look at the exciting new Monza XL 27.5" Cruiser BMX bike-a bike designed to blend old-school BMX nostalgia with modern performance. If you’re looking for the best BMX bike for adults that combines comfort, rideability, and that classic 80s vibe, the Monza XL 27.5” Cruiser might just be your perfect ride.
Use my exclusive code NostalgicFriends to save $100 on your pre-order at Monza BMX.

Why choose a 27.5” BMX bike? I’ll break down why the 27.5" wheel size hits the sweet spot for adult riders who want the classic look of a BMX, but with the comfort and stability needed for long-distance cruising. Learn how the Monza XL compares to 26” and 29” BMX bikes, and why this 27.5” BMX cruiser may be the best choice for riders looking for a balance of nostalgia and modern geometry.
We’ll also discuss why Monza went with 27.5” wheels instead of the more common 29” size, how this BMX compares to Monza’s previous 24” and 26” models, and why the Monza XL 27.5” strikes the perfect balance for adult riders. If you're looking for a BMX bike that offers comfort, durability, and a retro look that takes you back to your childhood, this is the bike for you.

i just per-ordered a 27.5 and a 24" off him a few hours ago thanks for the discount code!,,you zipping around on that big bike sealed the deal,looks nimble enough for me 😉.....i would prefer maybe slightly longer handle bars because i'll probably put a laid back seat post on my bike when it comes to make bike look even more badass and BMX'y we'll see (comfort comes first on this bike though 😛) and hopefully that seat is nice and cushy soft for those long rides,, and maybe id change the grips to a more comfortable soft AME raised triangle style or ODI Mushrooms etc etc.. buts that a cheap and easy swap out anyone can do once they get the bike...other then that aint much else i would change,bike looks awesome
@TheNostalgicNeighborhood
@TheNostalgicNeighborhood Күн бұрын
Oh wow, you’re gonna love them both! Stoked for you 🙌 So far the seat is awesome, I’m going on a long ride on Sunday, if it bothers me, I’ll give an update. Those smaller/cheaper upgrades are a good part of the fun. I have AME grips on all my bikes but my 24” Monza. I’ll probably swap out for Ame on it and my incoming 27.5”

Good question! We’ll have to check with Thomas. They are Dia-Compe, not sure if they can be made/ordered all blue, of if it’s a “you get what you get” scenario from Dia-Compe. I’ll circle back here once we know.

Price really went up on Monza bikes. Doubled I think. Riders are going to want to know where to get the tires. Smart ones will probably grab two to three pairs. I’ve never seen 27.4 gumwalls
@TheNostalgicNeighborhood
@TheNostalgicNeighborhood 22 сағат бұрын
The 24” with Skyways were always a little more expensive than the 26” that had spoked wheels. I think they went up around $200. Maybe more like $100 if you use my coupon code. Manufacturing and shipping costs have increased, and then they’re upgrading things like the cranks. I assume that combo explains the price increase. I think the 27.5 seem so much more expensive than the 26” because the 26” were discounted towards the end, because of excess inventory (which happened to most bike companies and shops after the post-pandemic demanded dropped off.) Good point about having extra tires on hand! 👍

Goldilocks!!! 💯 That GT will always have a special place in my heart, but if I’m going on a longer casual ride… this is the choice. I need to ride them back to back to be able to put my finger on it, but I feel like the posture this one puts me in is more comfortable 👍

Yeah, it’s all about what feels good to you! 👊 I have a 27.5 MTB and despite the same wheel size, it feels very different from this Monza. 24” is still my choice for the pump track, and my 20” is what I’m slowly learning flatland tricks on. 👍

Nah, 27.5 and 29 should not be used in the same sentence as BMX. At 58 years old, I’ve been an avid BMXer, Road Biker, AND Mountain Biker. I’ve fully immersed myself into each of those subcatagories. 27.5” isn’t BMX. It’s beach cruiser/neighborhood basher at best.
@TheNostalgicNeighborhood
@TheNostalgicNeighborhood Күн бұрын
OK boomer 🤣 Just kidding… from a purist perspective, I hear you. But there is also another subcategory called ”big bike BMX” and/or “big wheel BMX” lots of legit BMX manufacturers like Gary/Craig Turner, Torker, Race Inc, Supercross, etc all make 29” bikes and label them as BMX. But it’s just a label, if it’s a fun bike, I’m good 👊👍

I hear what you’re saying, but I also have a 27.5” Salsa Timber Jack mountain bike. I have a 20” flatland bike, a 24” Monza, and two 26” BMX’s. The geometry on this new Monza feels way more like a BMX than a MTB. I don’t think your perspective is unreasonable, but I’d say it’s more than barely a BMX, but either way, no question that it gives off fun old school BMX vibes. 👍

@@TheNostalgicNeighborhood Yep, it's very much a subjective thing so comes down to personal interpretation. Having fun is all the matters when all is said and done! I finally found and ordered a suitable and available new BMX to get me back in to the hobby again after all these years. A 20" bike with 21" top tube and a 'mellow' trails geometry to suit my intended riding style. If it's as much fun as I'm hoping then I may at some point get a 24" model, perhaps the WeThePeople Atlas, so to have that extra option when desired.

is a 27'5 BIKE of 14-15 kilos of weight still acceptable for getting a fun workout as a middle-aged guy in a pump track? I do not need competition speed at all, just fun and a good balance and feeling.. I like that 27'5 seems useful in daily life, but want to try some pump tracks as well... but mostly getting out an hour or half an hour each morning on a bike that feel more like a BMX! Thanks for a nice review...
@TheNostalgicNeighborhood
@TheNostalgicNeighborhood Күн бұрын
I haven’t tried this one on a pump track yet, but I’m sure the answer is yes. I’ve ridden my 26” Hutch at our track and it’s fun. But, the 24” Monza really shines in that situation. If I could only pick one though, I’d go 27.5 if you’ll be doing more riding off the track 👍
