My hold for spy x family vol 1 just came in so I'll be getting that tonight!! Also my top books looks very different but that's because I haven't read many typically popular book series. Mine also includes some children's picture books because I had to rate them for a lit class in college and they are some of my favorites for my classroom

I enjoyed putting videos like this together and for three straight years have created a best and worst rated books video according to Goodreads to see if anything has changed and it feels like not much has changed. Unlike you, though, I will keep a series in mind and will mention each of the books in a given series if they have reached the Top 10, despite not reading too many series. With that being said, books in the Harry Potter series have appeared several times on my best list, but I feel that their appearance is deserved. Only one book on the best list was one that I felt was ultimately okay. On my worst list, there have been a few books that I enjoyed, and one actually appeared in my list of 10 favorite books that I read within the year in which I read that book. It looks like you read a lot of series, so many of the representatives can come from the same exact series. The way you see The House in the Cerulean Sea is similar to the way I saw The Fault in Our Stars where I gave it a five-star rating despite the fact that I am not sure if I would do the same upon a reread. I do, however, have a decent memory as to what takes place during the book and can recall plenty of details. I felt that it did a great job with its target audience. I will definitely have to look into this video's counterpart, for I would be inclined to see how that list came out. Usually, the worst rated books were rightfully rated that way. If I don't count my Number 1 book (it only has 9 ratings so....) and sequels, my Top 10 books according to Goodreads are: 1. Into the Mind of Sherlock Holmes - average rating of 4.55 (strongly agree, gave it 5 stars myself, it's a graphic novel and the art style + the creativeness and how the reader is included in the story are fantastic) 2. The Name of the Wind - 4.52 stars (gave it 3.5 stars myself so I don't fully agree but I understand why it's this high up) 3. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder - 4.36 stars (strongly agree, gave it 5 stars myself) 4. Strange the Dreamer - 4.29 stars (gave it 5 stars myself so I agree) 5. Ranger's Apprentice #1 The Ruins of Gorlan - 4.24 stars (I agree, I finished it a few days ago and I will probably give it 4 stars ish too) 6. The Love Hypothesis - 4.23 (I rated it 5 stars and enjoyed it incredibly so I agree) 7. The Inheritance Games - 4.23 (I did enjoy the book, gave it 4 stars (in hindsight maybe too much tbh) but I don't quite get why people are hyping it up *as* much as they do) 8. Book Lovers - 4.22 (not my favourite Emily Henry book, gave it 4 stars, but she certainly belongs on this list in my opinion) 9. Once Upon A Broken Heart - 4.15 (meh. I gave it 2.75 stars. I sadly couldn't get warm with the spin-off even though I loved the Caraval trilogy but I understand why it has such a high average rating) 10. Today Tonight Tomorrow - 4.15 (not the best romance book I ever read, gave it 4 stars, I had a good time with it and it gave me exactly what I needed at the time when I needed it so I enjoyed it. Not sure if that makes me agree to it being on this list though haha) I rarely check average ratings on Goodreads so these were all surprises to me, how interesting!

Sanderson is no surprise at being in the top. Im surprised Crescent City is the highest-rated first in series SJM book, but I suppose at this point, the fan base is huge, so it also kinda makes sense 🤔
