Yes!!! I use booktube and goodreads to pick my next read. I'm pretty caught up on all of the popular ones. I'd love some suggestions that don't have a lot of hype and this suggestion would be a great way to do it.

Heartstopper is soooo adorable and happy a book!!! And the recent adaptation is sooo dreamy and cute like the characters just came out to play themselves!!! 💕 sadly volume 5 would be the last!

@@poisonedyoyo it is not disgusting, your attitude is. We aren't replacing anyone with anyone else, trans women are women and space needs to be made in female communities for them. Yes trans women should be allowed to participate in sports, yes trans women should be allowed to do anything other women can do. Rowling has made the general public feel comfortable and safe expressing transphobic views by doing so herself, constantly only posting about trans women in a negative light. The more the public feels safe harrassing trans people, the less safe their existence is. She posts the harmful stories that are so so few and far between, and always ignores all the happiness and positive impact that can come when people are allowed to be their true selves. Hailey is allowed to choose whether or not to lend her platform to any specific author or book, she is not required to promote anyone, especially anyone who has Rowling's level of fame.

I’m currently reading crooked kingdom and just read six of crows and so far I’m loving crooked kingdom and I think there both amazing books. Definitely my favourite grishaverse books EVER!!! 💕

Sequels probably generally get higher ratings because the people who are reading them most likely liked the first book too, so it kind of weeds out the people who don't like the general style. I recently read Heartstopper, Crooked Kingdom and Clockwork Princess so I've been spoiled by good books lol.

My top books are like 5 of the Harry Potter series, Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, A Game of Thrones and A Storm of Swords (GOT books 1 and 3), The Hate U Give, Born a Crime by Trevor Noah, The Help, The Green Mile, and Where the Crawdads Sing!! @@mariahsmith2751 I agree, it was quite boring, But for me that was not the biggest issue. I felt that everything bad that could happen to the characters happened. And while I understand that it is a WW2 historical fiction and that life was during war is hard and tragic things happen, but the events depicted in the novel were too many, exaggerated, and quite simply, unrealistic.

I've actually read three of these! (I'm surprised b/c I don't feel like I read a lot of books compared to booktubers.) A Court of Mist and Fury being on here doesn't surprise me; it was so much better than the previous one in such a popular series. I actually thought it was fine (the first was meh) and then the series (and apparently the books by this author in general) really slide downhill: lack of editing, lack of growth in writing... House of Hades was good as far as I can remember; I think I'm going to like the stuff from that world as a tv show better. Less time investment to watch than read, and maybe they'll make it less repetitive too... And I think I did read at least two vols of Saga b/c I read a lot of comics and graphic novels and it was so hyped. It's also one of the ones that taught me I don't much care for Image books, hyped or not. I get why people like them...there's this idea that when you get into comics you start out with superheroes from the big publishers and then "grow up" into creator-owned stuff...but me, I just turned right back around. Image/creator owned stuff I've read so far, have been just okay or gone so OTT with the graphic graphicness or whatever that I just don't care. Saga is so into gross-out stuff...meh. There's plenty of other comics I'd rather read.

Nonstop action? Character development? Greek dieties? Percy Jackson sounds worse and worse the more I hear about it, and that's not even counting the terrible writing when I picked one off the shelf at the story one time. I will probably still check out the Disney+ show but the book series sounds yipes.
