Mantis lords (and the harder version, sisters of battle) are definitely considered one the absolute best bosses in Hollow Knight. Looking forward to what you think of nightmare king Grimm, when you get there. That’s my personally favorite, it was the boss that made me fall in love with HK combat.

mantis lords are one of the best boss designs ive ever seen in a video game. One fo the few times where a difficulty spike occurs while still using the same attacks. It means that when you get to phase 2 for the first time it actually feels beatable. That first attempt on phase two makes you feel amazing. I think if Mantis lords were not as good of a boss, Hollowknight as a whole would not have become popular. This boss hard carries the early game of hollowknight.

i have a massive love-hate relationship with the mantis lords i died to them COUNTLESS times and could only beat them once i got like 2 more masks buuut on the other hand the music slaps and the fight is really fun i hope you dont have to get slapped around by that bug trio like i did looking forward to the rest of your playthrough and heads up PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEEEAAASE DON'T GET SPOILED. Quick heal is probably one of my favorite charms. it makes what would normally be impossible spots to heal during boss fights very possible.

The BGM hard carries the mantis lords fight. After I've complete HK so many times and can play it half-heartly while listenning to a podcast, the fight feels slow and lacking; As soon as I start listenning to the mantis lords theme, the fight start to feel, while still not very challenging, but immensly satisfying again.

If you go back to the mantis village and in the direction of the mantis lords there should be an entrance to a room which was closed earlier, you can find a chest with some money and a charm that greatly extends the range of your nail Also I love your vids, please keep making more!

Mantis lords is one of the best fights in the game. In an endgame activity there's a version where you fight all three at once instead of just the two and it's even more fun!

Was probably explained already but yeah, overcharming means you can have 1 more charm in your arsenal and is really good to have the more charms you get. Only downside is that you gain a permanent debuff until you remove your overcharm - this debuff makes you take double damage from all sources.

I can give you a tip utilizing a not really in-game mechanic to alleviate traveling quite a bit. It’s something you usually realize on your own eventually if you haven’t already. Has sth to do with the menu. If you still don’t know what I mean and don’t want to know DON’T read further! Neither is it magic, nor a mystery to most players that you can quit out to the main menu and by continuing you will start at the last bench you rested at. Therefore working like a fast travel back to your last checkpoint. Of course, it potentially can also be used as an emergency exit before you die to save your Geo and prevent getting the penalty on your Soul meter until you track back to the Shadow you left and kill it. But in general, this can come in pretty handy if you know where and what you’re going. With this technique your map will be updated as well, thus no worries to lose any progress in that regard. At first, you’re probably resting at each bench you encounter and should do so. Later, e.g. just wanting to explore the last bit of a remote area, probably you travel to the nearest stag station and go from there. By skipping the (minor) benches on your way, you can easily get back to the fast travel station by quitting and loading as soon as you picked up or did whatever you wanted to do

Are you still playing with Joystick or did you move on to using the D-Pad? Because I think the D-Pad is far more reliable when it comes to precise movement. Not only is it very useful for traversal but e.g. pogo-ing on enemies is so much easier as well and will become more and more necessary throughout your journey through Hallownest. Just a tip (in the end comes down to preference): Platinumed HK the first time using the Joystick and only after a couple other games where it was absolutely required to use the D-Pad thus getting used to it, it only was the second time platinuming the game on my brother’s account that I used the D-Pad and found it to be far superior in terms of precision, therefore granting you more control and consistency. Maybe give it a try for a bit and decide. In the end it’s just a tip 🤷‍♂️

I don't know how far along you actually are compared to the vids on youtube, but now that you've earned the Mantis Tribe's respect, the asshole on the right of the Mantis Lords fight will stop closing the gates on you and you can get some goodies that they've stashed in that room. I think there's a charm and a bench there, something else as well, but I don't remember, what.
