It’s hilarious the folks who pass these up because it isn’t made in the USA. Sorry guys. My Tisas was 10x better QC wise than my Springfield Armory 1911. These things are made right. All forged. The finishing and QC is perfection. For $400. You can’t beat it, and you never will. The Tisas is the Toyota of the gun world. And we all know why folks buy a Toyota over a Ford…. Because you’ll still be driving a Toyota 20 years later, while the Ford has long been in the junkyard. 😂 Turkey is doing it better. It is what it is. You’d be stupid to pass up a Tisas 1911 right now. They don’t have the best trigger in the world, but hey. That’s an accurate Mil Spec 1911. These aren’t race guns. These are combat guns. A proper 1911 should have loose tolerances, and a medium heavy trigger. They are designed to go bang. Every time. And that’s what this does. Perfection.

The milsurp colt fanboys are mad because they have been unable to gatekeep the GI 1911A1 the same way they have the M14, M1 carbine, and M1D garrand, the Springfield 1903A3 the colt automatic 1911A1 pattern pistol's original milling machines/specs from ww2, Korea, vietnam era were sold off to allied nations and place such as the Philippines to this day many of the supposedly "made in America" brands outsource their parts from abroad and assemble them here today just about every 1911 handgun is made to tight tolerances in some cases closer to original mil spec than ever before. If people want to dream about the colt of yesteryear and ignore the fact that they'll be a Czech owned subsidiary entirely in another decade they can but the Turks got this 100+yr old design correct. Need I remind you John M browning himself was not opposed to foreign nations financing and producing his firearm designs ever hear of fabrique Nationale? Or the other browning pistol's that led up to the model of 1911? Today anyone on a working mans budget can afford a plain jane derivative of one of his designs the series 70 .45 and I like to think that's exactly what he would've wanted this beautiful gun in use today for decades to come in the light not all examples stuffed in the back of some fudds safe locked behind an exhorbitant market value it's a single stack workmanlike combat handgun made of steel not a myth. I'd rather buy a Turkish made 1911 than give my money to Springfield for a hi-power clone that will suffer hard stoppage and extractor failures at 800rnds like clockwork that's what I think.

Fellas, I have had this gun for 6 months now. Make no mistake, even though it's $400, shooting this gun gives me an intense orgasm after each shot. This thing is one badass, quality-made, study as holy fuck, rugged piece of hardcore firearm magic, at SUCH a budget price. Over 1000 rounds, several ammo, steel, brass, different types of magazines, and I have not experienced ONE malfunction of ANY kind. Not only that, this thing is accurate as all fuck. I hardly have to think about my target much and I hit it almost every time, even with the crappy GI sights. If you're like I was, and was on the fence of buying this gun, thinking "Maybe I should just not cheap out and save up more for a Springfield instead", or "Maybe I should just trust a good name brand like Colt" or Blah blah Blah, GET OFF the fence and buy this damn gun. This $400 gun shoots better and is WAY more quality than my $1,000 Colt commander that is loose fitting as all fuck and rattles like a birth control pill in a wine bottle. This gun however, is fit DAMN well and is made with such quality that it's ridiculous for $400. GET IT.

You're lucky because in the last several months SDS was selling the Tisas 1911 in carboard boxes and with one magazine. SDS and EAA just do a poor job promoting Tisas and Girsan compared to Century's promotion of Canik.

Finally someone knows difference between standard grip safety snd beavertail. Mine only came with 1 magazine and in cardboard box but it has been great, accurate and reliable

I have to agree, but for some reason, I, too, find it annoying that people call every grip safety a 'beavertail'. Maybe because I'm older and come from a wingshooting, double barrel, side x side, background, I know the difference between a 'splinter forearm' and a beavertail. As Rush Limbaugh used to say, "words have meaning".

Just received this 1911 from Atlantic FA, purchased for $367 (May 2022). Very happy with fit and finish, excellent quality reproduction of WWII US Army.

These are really nice and respectable 1911s. I own expensive 1911s, but I'm not such a brand snob that I don't hold these Tisas pistols in equal regard. Only modifications I would make is change out the grip safety to an extended beavertail and replace the hammer with the commander hammer. GI 1911s always bite my hand, no matter how much they cost. Simple enough modifications I can do myself that won't cost too much. But you can shoot 9mm all day long for a lot less money than .45Auto. What energy/knock down power a 9mm lacks in bullet weight, it makes up for in velocity.....just like 7.62 Tokarev.

Thanks for your quality production and review. So many firearm enthusiasts would like to own a living piece of history like a Colt SAA or a Smith 1917 in 45 ACP or a surplus 1911. However, few of us can actually afford such artifacts. Tisas has addressed that problem by producing these as true as possible replicas and selling them at a very competitive price no less! Bang for the buck there. This handgun is a representation of American history and is a still a tool to be safely and effectively used as well. Again, more bang for the buck. My desire would be obtain a WWII pistol belt and holster or a interwar cavalry belt and holster to carry it.

I have the 1911 my great uncle carried in the First then my uncle had it mailed to Europe for the Second. I've owned it since I was 16, in 1972. I bought a Tisas 1911 A-1 for $330 a few years ago. My friend showed me the one he bought. I bought one the Next Day. I own more than one 1911 including some expensive custom guns. This Tisas was of such accuracy, reliability and quality for such a price that I bought one on sight. This is a Quality Handgun!

I have the .45 1911A1 and it is without question as good a 1911A1 as any other out there, bar none. Can't beat them for the price or for any other reason. High quality, for sure.

Had to get mine in .45 and a A7 holster. Although the cheap plastic grips are more authentic to pre Beretta 9mm conversion Army days, I got checkered and diamond walnut grips just to class the joint up a bit!! 😆

Local got one for $315 out the door. Came with case cleaning stuff n 1 mag but bought 4 mec gar mags same place for $17 a peice... added a wilson combat beavertail hammer springs and magpul grips all under $450

After decades of using striker fire sidearms on & off duty, retirement meant I could finally carry anything I wanted & getting reacquainted with the 1911 platform was a joy via way of this same pistol...a Tisas 1911A-1 in 9mm... After the normal 300 or so round break in period, it ran flawlessly & even with those tiny G.I. sights it was easy to keep nice tight groups... I felt perfectly safe carrying it concealed for several months before switching to a Springfield Ronin simply because of the better sights.... My latest Tisas is a PX-9 that I'm equally as happy with ...Tisas makes great products at great prices...👍👍

Any 'hammer bite' is incorrect grip. This is a ONE hand gun, you grip it tight, all fingers tight, this will stop the bite. See Army training film, piston training, this will show how to hold, correctly support and use this gun. This is a combat gun, not a contest pistol, but it will do an excellent job once you use it that way it was meant to be used.

As of 3/4/2023 I have had my .45 version, for 3 days, 3 rounds, two complete jams. My pistol is 100% non-functional. I can not recommend this pistol .

I grabbed the 1911a1 us army 45 for $339. it's my most basic 1911, very very similar to the army issue I carried in the Army (before adequate numbers of Berettas were availavle) Although it's basic.....it's my favorite and rivals the expensive guns. It's actually an improvement on the gun I was issued. Army guns were parkerized. The Tisas is grey cerecoted....looks like parkerized finish but so much more durable. $339 was a steal. and the gun came with wood grips, and the more ww2 correct plastic grips. Great carry case too.

I just shot this same model Sunday. Disappointed how loose the frame to slide fit was. I have a nice 1944 Colt arsenal rebuild that is much tighter. The Pistol ran fine. I would pay a little more for a Springfield mill spec.

The Springfield GI's on the market today are twice the cost of what the Tisas WWII US Army is currently. I'd pay maybe $200 more for Springfield but I do not see that happening in this market. My Tisas frame and slide are really well fit. I'll update after some range time.

Not to discount your experience with the Tisas, but you are paying quite a bit more for a mil spec Springfield. Close to double if not a bit more than that. So if that's your idea of a "little more" then I need to start doing what you do for a living, cause clearly 300-500 extra is no big deal.

I think theres a lot of colt fanboys that dont want to come to the realization a 100+ yr old design may have been reproduced correctly. I own an original colt anaconda I still dont fanboy. Before bringing a new tisas 1911 home I had the privelage of seeing it directly beside a ww2 era original the shop owner was also curious the pistol in many ways is a dead ringer with a few exceptions definitely closer than the RIA attempts. I also currently own a Ruger SR1911 as far as tight tolerances theres no noticeable difference. I'm sorry but if someone wants to overpay for a plain Jane GI spec colt Automatic pistol full forged series 70 innards they are welcome to do that but their just paying a lot of dough for a pony logo this is on par with in quality to what our grandfathers were issued. The barrel on the Tisas has reliefs done to the chamber mouth profile out of box that would normally cost a lot if done custom to increase reliability with other than ball ammunition types. The Ruger SR1911 out of box had nearly every modification youd want on a combat/carry 1911 from factory its slide, barrel, and muzzle cap are milled from the same block of we are not being favoritist those guns can shoot circles around stock unmodified competition colts. For most people provided they dont have some phobia of a foreign made pistol and their in touch with the reality that Colt isn't the same "made in America" company it used to be they themselves may soon be fully owned as a Czech subsidiary in another decade hollow as winchester is today in name alone. A lot of great handguns are made abroad is it so hard to believe the Turkish have produced a phenomenal value that finally offers something to you that was once only reserved for collectors for what they are intrinsically worth as a gun today? Springfield doesn't support your 2A rights wholeheartedly either and they cant even get the extractor right on their hi-power clones 800 round failures hard stoppages like clockwork most of us never even saw one make it to a shelf. Bottom like tisas Zig 1911A1 is a gun I'd carry once in a while and not mourn the holster wear or keep it in the safe to collect dust it is in every way true to what it represents doesn't mimic it IS. I forgot to mention those expensive kimbers outsource the same parts from the Philippines as RIA does meaning they may be assembled in Yonkers as prominently displayed on the guns but they are not "made in America" either they are at least 40% foreign made outsourced labor for all we know colt and Springfield (today) have indulged in these same practices I know colt has licensed their brand for Armalite sporter rifles to a small company in Texas at one point to appeal to budgets and the competition shooting market while keeping the Hartford Marks on the receivers. My point is your 1911 being made in Turkey or elsewhere in some facet isn't a new development. Let's call it what it is the collectors dislike this gin because I it somewhat decreases their market for people clambering to own a part of history and they cannot gouge the way they like for a clapped out gun that's been all over the world we sent most of the original series 70 machines to our allies our military sold those WW2. Korea, Vietnam era machines to other nations who are now turning out close to original products and supplying the market with mil spec replacement parts.
