Haha I just went hard on the lighting, I was so fed up with the quality.
@Side85Winder7 ай бұрын
Very nice You can see the difference between a premium chinese reel and the cheaper ones. Compared to my handing m1 it looks to have a few nice features and super premium light weight! Budget vs premium for sure. This is deffently a different class of reel competing on a whole different level. Its more of a vanford, emeralds or alx thea (dont forget abu garcia (the big 3 👍).
@yep.fishing7 ай бұрын
ALX Theta, are you on Australia? Abu is nowhere near as big of a player here but definitely in 3rd place. I do like Abu though for nostalgic reasons. I have the Tsurinoya Kingfisher on an Abu Rayrex

They are starting to line up! The Kestrel/Tegmen/Lanius/Zeus Air/Artemis eve LINNHUE has a 139gram reel and all around or under 50$ My wrists love them light reels, but the Lanius sure seems smoth!

Yes it definitely doesn't feel cheap at all, good line lay. I will add 1 shim to the handle knob and it will be perfect.

You can add the tsurinoya jaguar to that list

It looks premium. The designs seems to be taken from a Ryobi mid range reel crossed with a Stradic.

Try the kastking kestrel or other kastking reels 👍 slightly more expensive but its an American brand.. still cheaper than Penn andAbu Garcia. Some would say even better. Light weight and more durable than Tsurinayoa...

Hiya, i was looking for a reel but i was wondering. Around my local waters theres mostly bass pike and zander. i was looking at the artemis and jaguar but i have no idea how much attention i should pay to the max drag
@yep.fishing2 ай бұрын
This reel is more of an ultralight reel, I'm unfamiliar with the Jaguar but the larger Artemis is a better option than the Lanius.

So I guess this is a shimano Vanford that uses a long stroke spool for better casting distance. Am I correct?

Yea it's similar to the Canford but with Stradic styling. I think the main difference is it doesn't have X Protect/mag Seal tech

113 bucks is wild for a real like that. I just wonder what the long Gevity is like on a real like this. and obviously it isn't going to be any where near the same calliber as something like a daiwa airity. but for the price it seems like a no brainer for someone looking for a budget real I would love to see a video of you putting the real to the test.
@yep.fishing7 ай бұрын
It was $114 Aussie, it will last as long I guarantee it. They save money on marketing and not really having to do research and development either so you are not paying the extra premium.

What’s the line lay like ? What size would this compare to in diawa sizing ?

Is Tsurinoya any good for salt water fishing?
@yep.fishing7 ай бұрын
This reel has that gasket underneath the drag tension knob which will help prevent water getting into the reel. I would always recommend spraying any reel with fresh water and the drag tightened after any saltwater fishing.

hello everyone, I'm looking for a light reel for UL, buttery smooth? for now it is Daiwa Legalis. Which reel is still so smooth, with an excellent brake (up to 100 dollars) and that it is light?
@yep.fishing7 ай бұрын
This reel is buttery smooth. Better than my Daiwa TD Black. People say the Purelure Yannick is also good but I have never used one
@Sweetaccord7 ай бұрын
Copies will never be as good as the original even for the price. They don't use the same materials and fall apart over time. The bearings will corrode overtime. For the price it's same as Daiwa, but Daiwa will use better materials and bearings making it last longer and keep it's tolerance way better over many years.
@yep.fishing7 ай бұрын
Unfortunately I will have to disagree, you think that this is using far inferior components to Daiwa or Shimano?
@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL7 ай бұрын
Hey sweet accord! Ooc, where do you think budget daiwa reels are made? By the way, I am fairly certain they all use cast zinc main gears… and bearings are really technically consumable parts. Even anti corrosion bearings don’t last… I don’t quite think that this is a copy as well unless you consider every car to be a copy or every hamburger you eat to be a copy… Daiwa and Shimano need to look out for making profits and so while they do have a reputation to keep they will also be looking to do it as cheaply as possible. Now, all of that being said, show me a pricey/made in japan egg beater and I’ll totally agree that it’s a superior reel for obvious reasons. But… that’s not the point that yep is trying to make. He’s trying to show that there are other options out there that are budget friendly and aren’t bad products. It’s good to have competition in the marketplace. It drives innovation… you stop and companies get lazy and there is no need for them to move forwards. So… imho seeing products like this is a good thing for everyone. Hope that makes a bit of sense. Cheers my friend!
