Dc is a digital controlled reel, has some smart electronics for the spool control in the cast. The light combinations indicate what mode the reel is set to. 👍

There is 2 braking masked, a beginner friendly mode and a pro mode so there are 2 different colours for that. I think I the red light is when the brakes are engaging.

Acehawk AG venom is a soft rod, comes in 7ft 3 piece. Can’t remember the casting weight maybe 1-8g

Well so far it's been the same as the GIU silver, only flaw is a tiny amount of play in 1 knob otherwise flawless. After using the silver for maybe 100 casts there is play in both knows just a little. My theory is that bushings can get worn down a little. So basically my experience is that the AA was a let down, but easily fixed and aim very happy with it, the GIUs so far have been worth the money but I don't feel they outperform the AA for my type of fishing (typically 3g up)

Hi Jacob, This was probably my first Aliexpress rod after watching some KZbin videos and bought it mainly off alot of positive reviews. After using for a few weeks I absolutely hated it it. It wasn't so much the action but the feel in my hand. I have fairly average size hands but the grip and reel seat are way too small, it feels more like a kids rod. One of my favourite bfs rods is the Ace Hawk Double CU, Feels alot better in the hand, casts alot better and you ger two top sections U & UL.

Yea it’s true the foregrip is a bit short and thin but you are meant to be able to get better sensitivity by feeling the blank. Which model did you get? The 5’6 or 7’? And yes is actually makes the perfect kids rod.

Just got a Soloking Acura for some saltwater bfs to target indopacific tarpon and small trevallies Just wondering how I would maintain the reel and will it hold up. I won’t be dunking it or anything like that.

It should be fine, the bearings that usually.get the most corrosion over time are the in handle knobs and they are easily replaceable. I would just make sure you wipe the reel with a damp cloth after use

No, it should be medium light, I'm guessing the 2.5-17g models. Definitely can cast lighter than a normal ML though

I have the 6 foot 10 Light version paired with VE II. Perfect power BFS when I need to reach further places! Beautiful rod as well. I like how tapered the rod is. The rod tip is actually thinner than my Purelure Creekdance. Crazy! I wish they make a UL/ shorter version of it. It’s gonna replace my creek dance for sure. Nice video btw! Nice spot!

@@yep.fishing I’m doing the same exact thing. The dance with Acura for smaller fish and quick games. Cedan for when I’m expecting bigger fish or where I really need to throw the lure! I have the non pro version though. Haha. It delivers on the heavier lures. Anything below 2 gram is a bit tricky. But it’s for power bfs. So suits the purpose.

If you want, try removing a washer from under your drag star and see if that helps. One friend said a few times it made a reel feel less Geary.

For me, I think my main gripe is the high price tag, I don't really trust Chinese made rods as much I do with established brands. Probably whimsical since major brands are all china made as well..

@@grantmacdonald6109 there are only a couple of Chinese brands that I would risk spending this much on and the Tsurinoya and Purelure. The cheaper you go the more you roll the dice but are obviously taking less risk. I'm sure this rod will come down in price over time too.

I have a problem on my tsu dw ultra that it backlashes way to easliy, more than my other baitcaster even after ive set it up correctly, i was thinking the rod might be the problem because its relly floppy almost like a glass rod

With those types of rods you may need to adjust your casting stroke. With slower rods you will need a slower smoother stroke whereas faster rods you can do a quick flick because only the tip is loading. Hope this helps. Additionally you can add .5mm magnets to strengthen the brakes if required.

Most definitely a noodle type rod does cause backlash. Those rods are best with a heavy braking reels. You need a fast rod if you throw hard. I had the same problem with the hicc50 pro reel.

Should be a perfect budget option for panfish. I'm not too interested in the mavllos assualt, wasn't impressed by the specs. The delicacy is a far better option.

Yea true I could pair it with the exa.but.I just spooled it with 140m of 1.0 (for the 7'6 zero and also on the Cedan and Grupla perhaps) going to use it primarily for open water fishing, I'll try it like that with say 2.2 G just to see but I plan to put the GIU on this, aurora on creek dance and red dragon GIU on Histar rod and that Startlure Zacco. Might do a quick video showing my setups.
