A good desk truly makes a difference. I often make the mistake of overlooking that part of a studio setup, but there's nothing more frustrating than a desk that gets in the way of your creative process

I was searching for tones of affordable desk, sometimes the quality is not there with cheap desks. That's why I found that building your own(if you have the facilities) is the best option, I designed the desk according to the space available in my bedroom and what gears I have or will have in the future. Overall I paid about $250 while ensuring its quality and marching my tastes I guess for those who doesn't mind cutting wood, it's the best alternative!

I am starting very slowly to build my home studio . I decided to go for a dawless set up . I started 2 years ago buying guitars , specific guitars that i wanted , like Ibanez AR725, Yamaha Apx10na, Fender Baja Telecaster, Fender Stratocaster 50s reissue , Yamaha SLG200S and SLG200N , Ortega R122 3/4 , Ibanez AEG10II, Fender Ga43sec , G&L Legacy Stratocaster , etc etc ... a korg Sp170s piano that i think it feels and sounds , korg Microkorg xl plus , Alesis strike multipad, Akai Professional Mpk Mini mk3, Boss VE500, Boss Md500, Nux Chorus, Marshall Avt150h with Marshall 4x12 cabinet ,microphone MLX990 , one dynamic microphone , Pearl Export acoustic drum kit , Marshall As80r and Marshall As100d , Harmon and Kadon Solo headphones , and my last purchase just days ago the tascam Model 12. Looking now for active monitorvspeakers that i will buy in the nex coming das if i found a good deal , and a laptop or tablet . Laptop and tablet is not really something that is necessary because i have with the Tascam Model 12 . Is been a long journey and really happy with all i have and now i need start to put all together starting for soundproofing the litle room i have what i believe in the next 3 months time will be finished and all the music room set up to start and be able to record and jam along with friends . I just can't wait start using the Tascam Model 12 🥰

See I already have a great desk I can use if I got like a 2x4U box that could double as a monitor stand. However even just the boxes are almost as much as some of the desks that offer just as much rack space if not more. Currently I have a rolling flight case with all of my rack gear in it but that sets it kind of far from me and I would like everything to be more in arms reach and not end up with a huge empty space in the corner of the room. I thought about a second desk and separating my audio side of things from the gaming area but then that would mean a second computer or cables going between two desks. I also dont want to just totally replace my current desk as it is an Uplift desk and still functions just fine despite being about 10 years old now. Granted I dont use the stand option very much though but that is because I game more with it then anything else right now. I could make a box I guess but I dont really have the time, tools, or the space to build one from scratch. I just want to know why a basic rack box has to be so expensive. I get the desks, flight cases, and larger units, and I get that equipment for the "professional fields" tends to be way over priced but like what professional is going to buy a basic wooden box with some metal brackets on it that is just painted black and offers no protection to the gear and does not hold that much gear to begin with. Like Gator has a 4U box with no front or back just made of wood and painted black and they are asking $123. Where also from Gator I can get a 6U metal frame for less then $40 but I would not be able to put anything on top because there is not top. So clearly plywood costs another $100. Though the price of everything is kind of messed up right now so I guess there is that too.

Very useful, few other infoes for verticale heights ?The Ideal monitor height would get the ears at the same level of the midpoint between the woofer and tweeter, and good to set the equilater triangle for the sweetspot listening position. Height also important for the head fatigue in the video monitor Is too much high. I suppose you prefer la-2 like (mono) for mic recording, why do You choose stereo preamp ? for reconverting after virtual summing? In this case id4 should have additional I/O for a sorte of reamping.

Because I thought it was time to look for a proper studio desk, I went out and browse the internet. But there's one big problem. I've got a visual impairment and I need the display (monitor) in front of my face to be able to read the finer details of the daw. And they ALL provide shelve space for the monitor in the back. It's infuriating actually. I think I'm gonna have to have it custom made.
