I maxed my Yaoyao out. Best decision ever. Mine has a perfect blend of atk and healing (I have an HP sands with 36% crit DMG). I'm using emblem and (newly) engulfing lighting (previously the catch). 38k HP, 120/36 crit, 200 em, 260 ER, 1700 atk, lvl 90, 10/10/10. I like emblem because Yaoyao HAS to be out onfield for her burst. Thus, I wanted to maximize her burst utility. Her burst DMG does 10-20k dmg and then 2 to 9k DMG per radish, per rabbit. I LOVE jumping around during her burst as everything dies around me lol. I'm using a hooper bloom/ burgeon Pokemon team with Sucrose, Xiangling, Yaoyao, and Furina. Everyone is c6 except Furina (C0). Favorite team ever!

I kept experimenting until I landed on my current build. I get all the healing I need, even with Furina on the team, and now my Yaoyao does respectable dmg. I wanted to try a dendro sands, but the HP artifact that I have on my sands has amazing crit dmg substack

@@teknowilI was in a similar boat. My Raiden had the catch. If you don’t have engulfing, then the catch is pretty much raiden’s weapon. Since I already have Raiden at c2, I decided to do (1) 10 pull on her recent banner and another 10 pull on her weapon. In a single 10 pull, I snagged engulfing lighting! My Xiangling is using dragon’s bane for EM burgeon trigger plus crimson witch which boost burgeon further (I have a crazy good pyro artifact in crimson, so I never tried another set on her)

I used her EVERYWHERE before I got my Nahida. Now I don't use her at all lol. Kudos to the Yao Yao/Thoma/Yelan/Fischl burgeon team. It helped me break the geo shields in the previous abyss. I use her skill to have some application during my setup and then her burst for on-field application. Fun.

my favorite is full EM raiden, with a dps nahida on golden troupe, furina and full dps deepwood yaoyao. on that team my c0 nahida is hitting for 70k+ spreads yaoyao herself is hitting for about 20k+ on the burst bombs then of course raiden is triggering hyper bloom.

I generally use Nilou, Barbara, Dendro MC and Yaoyao for Nilou bloom. Nilou and Barbara's skill, Yaoyao's ultimate, run and hug everything. Leaves Nahida for Hyperbloom on the other side.

Yaoyao is one of my favourites, I use her in many of my teams, but she is my main healer for my Cyno team (Cyno/Furina/Nahida/Yaoyao). I just got her to C6 this banner too and she is amazing. For those who do not have Baizhu or do not like Baizhu, she does super well, even if you need to spend a few seconds on-field for her burst.

I'm playing her in a hybrid Raiden team with Nahida and Furina. Furina buffs Raiden and applies hydro, Nahida applies Dendro and buffs the team's EM, Yao Yao applies even more dendro and more EM through instructor's and finally Raiden burst, with the excessive Dendro will trigger lots of aggravates and Furina buffs Raiden talent damage.

@@Merance Two months later...I actually find him more similar to Zhongli rather than Yaoyao for Abyss because they share the same purpose as off-field defensive utility. I'd just think of him as a dendro Zhongli with good Furina synergy. An unnecessary character, but widely used for comfort. (if you have Furina, he is great with her, but like there are so many healers that he really isn't close to required. ) If you get him you will definitely use him. So if you like him go for it, but know he's very unnecessary unless you want to A. late-game min-max with some team where he is best in slot or B. want comfort / frequently die or C. Just really want on-skill quick team healing in overworld. -- There's a chance he could get some value in Natlan if they do something more pyro-dendro reactions, but like that's 6+ months out. It might be worth looking at upcoming characters and see if there's anyone you want more. The next few patches look to have really strong characters.

Aggravate swirls only occur in AOE of swirl and only on the 2nd hit if grouped up because swirls cap at 2 hits per 0.5s. If the enemies are far apart, aggravate swirls wont happen and dendro supports AOE are quite small except nahida. Thus, it is better to group the enemies spread apart first and then use dendro AOE which are yao yao burst (her E AOE is very small and usually keeps targetting the same enemy to be reliable), baizhu charge attack (E for 1 or 2 enemies) and kirara E or Q. In the yae miko fischl yao yao team, sucrose would better than kazuha because no need to dash towards or away from the enemy much as everyone is completely ranged so some save time. Sucrose can also hold hakushin ring R5 along with EM and c6 buff (some buff durations are quite short so time them with yae miko burst) so more buffs than kazuha but kazuha has short animations and slightly more dmg so it kind of evens out. Sucrose has to use her E every 10s+ to refresh the buffs/debuffs so dont rapidly use her E. Since sucrose have to use Q E to group enemies early and swirl electro into the center of her burst to infuse it, can use booktrick to collect the anemo particles while pausing in game timer.

You may want to fix the spelling of Yaoyao's name in the title, so people searching for guides for her can find your guide easier. She's not always worse than Baizhu. He's better with Furina, due to the nature of his healing, but he's generally worse off-field dendro application. And as far as Furina goes, I'd pull toward C2 Furina and keep using Yaoyao over pulling Baizhu ;) But I digress, for multi-target off-field situations, say with Aggravate, Yaoyao is the better choice. Weapon-wise, the other BP weapon can work with her as well, in certain teams. Needs 3 elements on the team, so not a good choice if you use her with NIlou, but otherwise, it can get her a lot of EM.

Fun fact, Yaoyao only has the timed IC in her kit. If she had the normal 3 hit ICD she would do more damage then even the most powerful 5 stars in the game. Even without the normal 3 hit ICD she is still a very strong burst dps.

If you didn't play lantern rite she's no longer f2p so at most she has like a 1 year cooldown timer before getting her which is quite a lot. Still I picked Yaoyao but since then I already built Collei. Since 4.0 we also got Kirara on banner. Basically she lets you use Kazuha in aggravate instead of anemo healer. But Meh I'm not sure of her role in other teams when her burst needs her on-field for f2p.

Beginner team building GUIDE!)” by the way, using either starters or Starglitter shop characters. “4* only” is not “free to play beginner friendly”. I’m a spender for over a year and don’t have a Heizou or Mika because there are no guarantees on 4*. A free to play beginner team is more likely one 5*, 2 starters, and 1 starglitter character which is obtainable after 2 months of moderate free to playing since 90 wishes guarantees a 5*. If a player really has no characters or is saving on a new account, Barbara, Lisa, (any cryo, dendro, or pyro to deal with the electro hypostasis to level Lisa up) will work. …I did that on my alt account up to AR44.

I love Yaoyao, mostly bc she's the conflux of my 2 lovers in this game, polearms and dendro, I play her and optimize her for Nilou Bloom with Candace, she never let me down, onfielding jumping and exploding everything with radishes with like 1400EM 30k HP double crowned 150ER~, I like her in this team mostly because I can play her whole kit wanna say that while she's very good and flexible, she is still not the best 4* at C0, I give that prize to Kuki Shinobu personally, she consolidates a whle archetype, and even out of it she's amazing in things like pure spread teams, and flex on many others, her elemental apllication is a ton better than Yaoyao's that end being lackluster and very context dependant (single target or AoE, lacking a ton on the first scenario) and Kuki dont really need C2+ to change drastically your account, also Yaoyao gets worse the more invested is your account, and Baizhu and Kirara are more than capable enemies, unless you play her specifically on Nilou Candace Nahida team, she's not the best option anywhere at high investment sadly.

my issue with Yaoyao is that every time I use her I feel my soul rotting, mostly because of a few gameplay issues she has these issues are that she targets you over enemies if you are damaged, making it difficult to get that dendro application if you're unable to get close to the enemy. And that her burst disappears when you swap off, which really sucks on any team where you need to swap off her (keqing, cyno, etc.)

He’s good but he needs a lot of ER so he can be tough to build. He gains a lot of damage and ER help with cons so you need to compensate by having lots of ER. Use fav if you have it, if not pipe or sacrificial, ER sands, emblem artifact set He’s also a bit more of a late game character I’m not sure what AR you are right now

It works fine as long as it’s only Dendro, Electro, and elements that don’t react with Dendro. It stops working if you “accidentally” have something else in the team reacting with the Dendro half of the quicken. For example if you have a Hydro unit, swirling the hydro could disrupt the quicken by making bloom cores, giving you an Anemo-powered hyperbloom team instead. Similarly accidentally mixing Pyro in there would give you burning, and now the main source of your team’s damage is Overloaded.

Probably aggravate. More difficult to swirl with Nahida, but not by much, and you want the healing anyways because of ping and skill issue with quick swap. Also if you don't have Baizhu or have more than 3 enemies even if you have Baizhu.

@@purp1e200 I should have worded my initial statement better, Raiden has many other options other than aggravate unlike Keqing. Hypercarry, HB and rational are more popular teams, and thus get recommended more. (And there are other units that make better use of aggravate, think cyno & yae). Raiden aggravate is perfectly fine to use and is competitive with standard no EM builds. As for why Keqing is only recommended to use in aggravate, it's because her other teams SUCK. Unlike physical/electro Keqing, aggravate keq actually makes use of reactions which bump up her damage alot

@200 They didn't say "benefit a lot from EM", but "benefit a lot from aggravate", because indeed, Keqing does benefit a lot of from aggravate. The reasons being that 1) she can trigger an insane amount of these reactions, more than Raiden and 2) on top of that, it is not an amplifying reaction but an additive one. Additive reactions tend to favor "quantity over quality", aka characters that can deal a massive amount of small hits, each (or most of them) triggering a reaction, as opposed to characters who have bigger multipliers and can trigger a smaller amount of reactions. Such characters prefer amplifying reactions, to make the best out of their bigger multipliers over a smaller amount of hits. Aggravate doubles down on this because of Fischl's A4 passive, in turn making this reaction not the best for Raiden, especially since she has other very good teams anyway. She can still work in that team however, and as a matter of fact, for the current abyss rotation my first clear was using a Raiden / Yae Miko core for my aggravate team, just so that I could free up my Keqing to play quickbloom on the other side. It worked well honestly, but I wouldn't call it optimal or anything

I love the idea of this, but maybe I suck at hyperbloom. I seem to always spend way too much of the fight on Kuki just to get her health back up to 100% before her next skill use. And her skill talent is lvl 9 so she's doing decent healing.

Once you have even a couple solid dendro alternatives, I agree. But when my trav was literally the only dendro I had, Yaoyao became an acct-saver. Until I got Nahida/Baiz and now I don't use her any more except for Oceanid...
