Recently picked up a 360 cameta and love the amount of angles you can get with it! That and my GoPro hero 9. You’re right, the stabilization in these small cameras is crazy! Great video, from a guy looking into starting some minor video stuff while riding its great info.

For me getting the video is the fun part. Sitting in front of the computer and editing is what I don’t like but it’s a love-hate relationship and it’s just part of it. Being able to document your experiences is priceless

The new set up I have with GoPro is way better. I almost picked up another 360 camera instead of the new GoPro 10 but decided to give it one last try and I’m actually really happy with it. Especially with the battery pack. Thanks for noticing. I’ve been working real hard lately 😁

For your "rider view" camera at the 5:55 mark of the video, you mentioned that you use that for live moto vlogging. How do you use an external mic with that camera? Confused how you get any sound to it when you want to live vlog, as I'm thinking the internal mic isn't going to pickup your voice when you have your helmet on...

Hey Kyle, not sure if that is the correct spelling. Great video mate along with Bret’s very helpful in being able to decipher those angles and which camera you are using. I am very interested in your helmet set up especially the battery pack. Do you know off hand how much continues usage it gives you before it flattens and also do you leave a battery in the GoPro ore remove it. Cheers mate from Australia.
@backcountryadvmoto2 жыл бұрын
With the external battery pack you can either leave the battery or take it out it doesn’t matter. But I use the “extended life” GoPro 10 battery In the camera and the battery pack to essentially trickle charge the camera battery as I use it. The last few times I have used this set up I have literally gone all day without having to change the battery one time and still have charge on the pack. Once the external battery is flat it will simply use the battery in the camera until it also dies. It’s a great set up

This video is really well done. We film heavy enduro as well and do it all with Dango Chin Mounts and GoPro (Currently Hero 10s). You have us considering some different angles. Nice thinking on the rear camera with the remote control.

I would love to know that as well. I did not see it in the description. I’m using parts from two GoPro helmet mounts together but it’s not quite centered and the horizontal pivot angle is hard to get right. Great video as usual!

Super informative video, and thanks for providing all the links. How are you keeping your SD2 batteries charged?
@backcountryadvmoto2 жыл бұрын
I charge them in my tank bag with a power bank while riding. The power bank has a high output and i plug the power bank into the bike to charge so it can change them completely without drawing too much from the bike while also charging the bank

Thanks for the review! The Skidio is a hard pill to swallow but my Mini 2 can't follow (without second party software). You mentioned backing up to your iPad... how much memory do you have on it? We did a tour of Nova Scotia. I kept transferring the raw data to my laptop and found myself needing to buy an external drive for storage. Now I have a 4TB LeCle external drive and can use my tablet to transfer files from SD cards to HDD. I presume you have the access doors off of your GoPros so they aren't water proof when powered? Thanks, again!
@backcountryadvmoto2 жыл бұрын
My iPad is 1tb and I carry two 2tb sandisk extreme pro SSD drives as well as a 1tb just in case. I back all my video up every night when camping. As far as the access door goes. That is correct, it is not “waterproof“ but is still very water resistant. I have ridden with it in the rain gone through water crossings and so on with no issues at all. It just isn’t submersible

Wow, you carry a lot of photography equipment. I carry a GoPro 8 and my cell phone. I'm thinking of taking my little Casio camera with a 16X optical zoom, and I'm thinking of getting the Skydio drone if I get more serious, but all of my moto adventures are ultralight keep-it-simple solo camping affairs so my camera equipment will reflect the ultralight and simple philosophy as well. I was very disappointed by the remote mic options for the GoPro. It's basically not usable for me. I can't believe GoPro expects users to tolerate this obvious oversight. I can use a remote mic with my cell phone but there are times that's not useful, such as when I'm riding. I use a 9" Samsung tablet mounted on top of a Pelican waterproof hard case on the handlebars in lieu of a tank bag. The tablet is a large screen GPS. I run the OSMand+ app. I'm probably going to run OSMand+ split screen with the GoPro app so I can control and monitor my GoPro camera as I ride whether it's chin mounted on the helmet, chest mounted, or handlebar mounted although that results in low res video by the time the very good image stabilization fixes the intense vibration when mounted to the handlebar on my somewhat buzzy single cylinder ADV bike.
