30:23 The Adapt ability neatly starts that chain for 1G. So you can play the Broodscale on Turn 2, enchant and combo on Turn 3, for unlimited mana and +1/+1 counters on the lizard. They better have a blocker, lol.

Evolution Witness will be a key piece in a B/G shell build around Pestilence. Can always loop the Witness's as blockers while you Pestilence and play B/G control. Not to mention, you can return Pestilence from graveyard

I wonder if Cranial ramp would be acceptable if it gave +X/+1 where X is half the number of artifacts you control rounded up

That would be interesting. But still probably not. I think if it was a 3mana equipment cost is it might have been open. Because then it's comparable to basilisk gate. But even then the fact it enters as a creature is such a huge deal for avoiding tempo loss in the affinity deck.

The hydra does have haste if you bestow it on something played previously and they don’t kill the target

I’m upset that MH3 didn’t have: 1. Centaur garden while having other pain/threshold lands. Would have helped infect 2. Any infect creature 3 or less that would be useful for modern.. even if it’s just lone wolf with infect

That would've been interesting. But I thought they werent printing anymore infect creatures. Toxic was their "fix"

@@saltandpauper modern infect is not even top tier deck at all in the current META. Adding 1 or 2 infect creature that is CMC 3 or less would help it a little. Also centaur garden is a nice pump spell that is a giant growth on a land, almost uncounter-able. Even a spell that gives an infect counter would be great, that is not an equipment, “until end of turn” or aura. Sorry I’m biased.

@@MrLucasrn no I get it my point was I believe the design team said we dont get "infect" anymore. Only toxic. But that also wasn't really the focus of this set so I think it'd have been a pretty strange place to put it

I think it'll be a cool card for my cube, but id be surprised to see it in constructed, it needed trample of something to compete with jewel thief for a slot

It would be a rebuild for sure. There is also talk of a UB dread return decks using them so I'm sure they'll find a home somewhere.

The land "cycle" is pretty sweet.

I wish I thought so. The cycle is basically unusable and they only find basics. I feel like ash arrens is basically always better but will be pleasantly surprised it someone finds a way to make them work.

Attach is at least 75% of the might of cranial plating. The ram is nowhere near as scary. But rip to it anyway.

yup, RIP. I understand why it took a ban to save both creator showdown and pauper-geddon from being potentially bad experiences and poor showcases of pauper to the world at large, but I wish they'd let it back in after they are done so we can see if it's actually a problem. lol. Never happen, but I can dream.
