Thank you for showing more of Denmark than the vast majority of citizens from the USA get to see. Those who come by cruise ship are only in Copenhagen for a few hours. Almost insulting to all that Copenhagen has to offer. And then comes the rest of the country. So thank you for liking and living here and for being open to the things that Denmark has to offer.

You are welcome! Thank you for having such a beautiful country to explore. There are so many wonderful things to see and do. One reason we started this on KZbin was to encourage us to get out and see even more. Doing this has helped us appreciate everything even more than before. Such a great country.

@@TravelinYoung If I may suggest you a place then go to Faneford Church. There are some very beautiful frescoes inside. The church is right next to the sea. The place was a former trading post and it was a natural harbor where the ships were sheltered from wind and weather. This natural harbor was a gathering place the times one went down for and beat the Venders militarily and plunder the villages. And when you are now on Møn, go to the small island Nyord where there is an intact village as villages looked in the really old days. In the town of Stege there is a town gate as there was in all Danish towns. It is succeeding and preserving this. In Stege I can recommend and eat at "Slagter Stig" www.google.dk/maps/place/Slagter+Stig/@54.9873039,12.2880738,16z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x4652d621371ae625:0xfa0ecc7e46a8ea2e!8m2!3d54.9858078!4d12

I like the way Miranda explains about the castle - she sounds like she has studied and learned her lesson, so it comes out fluent, competent and with no hick-ups. Well done. Oh, I love the the hick-up - the finishing line - at the end of the Strøget video... ha ha!

I stumbled over your channel a few days ago, so decided to check out the videos from the beginning. I used to live in Hillerød, for 4 years while I was studying, and I couldn't agree more. I absolutely love Frederiksborg and the garden. I would pack a picnic and eat lunch there in the weekends. This video brings back some nice memories. Thank you :)

I was a gardener at the Baroque Gardens in 2013 - one thing I remember is puting out the massive pots with a ruler - it had to be precise to fit with the aura and design. In a baroque garden nothing is left to chance and everything is tightly manicured :)

You should visit Aalholm slot in Nysted, Lolland. It's one of the best kept castles compared to its age (it's 1000 years old). The castle itself is closed for public visitors, but the garden is open for visitors and it's extremely beautiful, with a bunch of deers and pheasants running around everywhere!
@TravelinYoung3 жыл бұрын
Yes! We went to Lolland and stayed in Nysted before we had the channel. We walked around and as close to the castle as we could. It is a pretty area :). We do need to go back now that we are documenting our adventures on KZbin.

Greetings from a dane living in Hillerød. I a couple of days back was searching through videos about DK, and stumbled upon one of yours, and watched on. I was thinking, that if you live in KBH, you might have interest in visiting Hillerød, for any reason. I figured, since I always take pride in whenever the world around has any least interest in DK, I would have interest in showing you around, if that was one day an option. Then I found this, and thought "ding it!". Oh well. I appreciate you all three liking it. I have been inside the castle, and the huge portrait at 5:33, a guard in there told me about. It was painted by someone whos name I don't recall, sometime in the 1800's. The guard told me the artist included himself and his wife in the left window, and that the artist must have simply not known better, considering the inaccuracies, of the men wearing english bowlerhats, and them also havin shoelacers, which did apparently not exist back then. I reckon they tied footwear using buckling. I took some pictures in there, to also show my american double a preview of the interior-contents. He has emailed me before that they would like to visit DK sometime, which did surprise me. I found my double on the photographygame-app., named GuruShots. I commented on one of his pictures that it was too good that he on his profile-picture looked like me. he replied with calling me, "my brother from another mother" and that he liked my sense of humor. Mayhaps if you sometime plan on revisiting Hillerød, you would have interest in a meet and greet with a dane appreciative of outsiders liking DK. I also watched you video where you speak danish. Good on y'all, even though there is a very typical difference in the positioning of words, you did do very english/american. mayhaps i can aid you in learning some details. Here you have a couple of videos by Rick Stevens: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5fWiWiLhKh6oas kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHO3Zpevl7J-r9k And of course, this old classic. An old Norwegian commedy-thing: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qV7QgKxui7p4eM0 This one I also watched long ago: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKLKg3ZrqMt2l7M I recently found and watched this one... While personally i wouldn’t say Hillerød city in itself is anything special, as you have all these other villages like: Dragør, Sønderho, Stege, Ribe, and many more, Frederiksborg is definitely worth a visit. It has the amazing and famous baroque gardens, with the incredible renaissance architecture. It was built to impress the other dukes and princes which was a huge thing back then, so also kind of unique since it’s the first in Denmark to be built for that purpose.

Near the castle is a forest called Store dyrehave. Its a Parcefor hunting forest. Its on the Unesco world heritage list. Fredensborg castle and Frederiksborg castle was used by the king for hunting trips in the nearby forests. Store dyrehave is a great place to take some long walks. And lots of people bring their dogs with them. Its a bit further away from the station, but the bus 375 from Hillerød station stops really close by. Worth a visit or 2. Its so much differet from Dyrehaven where Bakken is.

My Home town... and as a family (With 3 small kids) we use gardens and the small forest around it, several times each month for small adventures and trips! J. C. Jacobsen (Carlsberg) did not only turned it into a museum. The castle actually burned down in 1859 and was rebuilt with support from Jacobsen. The church was unharmed. The reconstruction took 14 years so the financial support from Jacobseni (and later Carlsberg Foundation) was one of its kind.
