I purchased my Takomo's largely because of you MSH. I couldn't decide between the 101s, 101Ts or 201s. You played the 101's many moons ago and said "Why wouldn't I want more distance and more forgiveness from the 101s". I got the 101's and have never regretted it. Too beautiful to hit but so reasonably priced it's okay! I used the specs from my Pings I was fitted for years ago and got the KBS Tour Lite stiff shaft. I absolutely love them. Bought my daughter a set too and picked up the Sky Forger wedges. Great irons even if they were double the price. Can't wait to see your next set and look forward to Monday's video!!

Club makers should extend the scoring lines to the end of the toe. Sometimes there is a difference between center of scoring lines and center of blade. My wear marks look like I'm off the toe. Actually out of center of blade.

Hi MSH, you're really tempting me with the 201 LOL! I currently play the 101 and I do like them. My only gripe with them is the significant offset with the longer irons (4-5), which does not help with my occasional hooks. Are you really switching to the 201? It's funny how you said you're not a good ball-stricker. I'd agree if you're comparing to a swing robot 🙂 Kobee

The takomos were on my short list for my new irons. Ended up buying a set of titelist t100’s secondhand for cheaper than I could’ve gotten the Tacomo’s. The fact that you’ve been playing a game improvement iron baffles me. You’re such a good ball striker. But before the titleists, I played a game improvement too
@mistahshorthitter2 ай бұрын
I just never thought of myself as a good ball striker. I think that is because I've played with and against so many really good golfers. Just played in a tournament paired with one of the top mid ams in the state. He played in US Ams and won many events, and he's not close to the best I've played with!
@ryanwalters6942 ай бұрын
@@mistahshorthitter I feel that I’m not a very good golfer but the last 2 times I’ve went, I’ve been -1 at the end of the round. I have to go into scramble mood almost immediately but some how I make it work. I rarely hit a green in regulation so I have to chip it close and save par. My birdies come on par 5’s usually
@mistahshorthitter2 ай бұрын
I have been planning on doing a video somewhat related to what we are discussing. Sometimes we lose perspective based on who we are playing. I along with many other golfers need to focus on what we can do to improve. Comparing ourselves can be healthy if done in the right way. I'm going to work on that video soon.
@ryanwalters6942 ай бұрын
@@mistahshorthitter I find sometimes I have to tell myself that I’m a good golfer and remove the negative thoughts my brain puts out there to hit better shots. It’s almost like my brain is trying to convince me that I’m a bad golfer. Even when my scores say I am a good golfer

As a Finnish golfer im very happy they seem to be really good Irons! allthough made in china and dont know can you really say they are Finnish, well the company is! And also i was thinking have we all been distracted somehow? And making a good golf iron is not rocket science after all. At least seems its not as difficult and expensive as "the narrative" with golf companies lets us to believe!

I own Takomo irons, love them but here's the truth and reality. Are they any good, they're awesome. Are they cheap compared to the big guys? Hell yes. Here are the issues, if anything goes wrong I just broke my 9 iron shaft you cannot just buy the shat you have to buy a brand new complete 9 iron $130, now I have two 9 iron heads. lost my 8 iron another $130 did wind up finding it now I have two 8 irons:(. also, it takes up to a month to receive an order, played a month without my 8 iron and now will play at least a month without my 9 iron. So far it's cost me $260 extra because of bad luck, i'm 60 years old and that's never happened to me before so assume that you won't have to deal with those issues ever. But id it happens and you can deal with that than pound for pound these are the best irons out there.

@@alanmartins6349 I'm sure it's still frustrating. Hopefully, that's the last time. Could you have taken the 9 iron head and gotten a matching shaft installed somewhere near you? The shafts they use seem pretty standard.

I got the graphite shafts specifically made by Takomos, so no. Any other manufacturer I'd have it bought and reshafted on the same day.
