Yep, I’m a baker and I’ve been doing that for 30 years. Next time melt butter and combine with brown sugar and cinnamon and put it on the bottom of your pan. Put rolls on top close together then pour the cream lightly where the rolls touch.

You can even do it with water. Using a liquid that is used in the dough (or very similar) will enhance the flavors that liquid brings. You can replace milk with oatmilk in most recipes. Almond, soy, etc can be hit and miss.

Wanna make it even tastier?! After you pour the heavy cream: Melt in the microwave 1 stick of butter and add the following to the butter: Mix in ½-¾ cup brown sugar, Mix in ½-¾ tsp of cinnamon, Add a Tblsp vanilla Add pinch of salt. Pour evenly on top of the rolls before baking. Enjoy!

I did this with a bit more shushz in it- (heavy whipping cream, of course. Approximately 3/4 cup. PLUS: for extra topping- mix a half a stick of butter, (melted) and a half a cup of brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. Mix and then pour that on top of the rolls. Place in the oven at 350 for about 35 to 40 minutes, (I added almost 5 minutes extra to make sure they were done.) Take the icing that comes with the rolls and add 1/2 tablespoon of melted butter, 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, and a splash of vanilla and milk. Mixed together and add to the warm, cinnamon rolls. HEAVEN!!!

If you make the dough from scratch they’ll turn out just like that even without the heavy whipping cream. If you add it as well… it’s a whole other level of deliciousness. Don’t forget to bathe them in a cinnamon brown sugar syrup when they come out and drizzle the icing on once cooler! This is my favourite thing to make.
