Most New Englanders dunk the CLAM CAKES into the Clam Chowder
@whitetail7516 Жыл бұрын
Thats how we did it, my folks were from southern MA. And the chowder was like water not the thick chowder you get in the store.

Why use a spyder when your fryer has a fry basket?

Because I Can and I like to move items around in the oil with the spider. Thanks for the view.

Seafood platters aren’t what they use to be. I grew up eating clam cakes at the dining hall at Rocky point park

Looks great.. nice and fluffy. Maple syrup is new to me on seafood. New England style. All the best to yourself and family. Loved the Rice pudding!👍👍😊

Thanks so much for the view,,,and yes as odd as it sounds dipping in Maple Syrup, I highly suggest a try. Sweet and Savory...you will find many that drizzle a bit of honey on thier hushpuppies or savory fritters and since being from New England where Maple Syrup is King,,,I just have to dip mine in the maple syrup...give it a try and let me know what you think

Mmmm, Mmmm good. Been dying for clam cakes/fritters. Your recipes for clams is hilighted in February, however, we New Engladers crave them in the summer months. Curious why you highlight February ?

Heck, I put maple syrup in my coffee or tea, if I don't have any sugar.

Yay....they look just like the ones my mom made when I was a kid in Santa Cruz, CA....with fresh clams that my dad brought home. In my book they were only #2 to her fresh abalone steaks! Anyway, I’m assuming you’re using vegetable oil....is that right? Thanks for this post! 👍

Quick question: Are you using canned clams? Look great! Will try this recipe for sure! I remember my first clam fritters. I was a kid in the early 70s and bought them at a Drive -in (movie). They came in a foil bag and were kept warm by a heat lamp. I wouldn’t eat that on a dare today!😁
@mikethestewburner55053 жыл бұрын
No canned clams here. These were fresh soft shell steamer clams chopped

@@mikethestewburner5505in RI a clam cake is a clam fritter. In Maine you ask for a clam totally different. But growing up we called the fritters clam cakes and we would go to an amusement park called Rocky Point which had a large dining hall that served the bests chowda and clam cakes
