it's funny to me as everywhere you look, wiki included (which is supposed to be objective), it will tell you that wretch class is for experienced players. But wretch is the only class that can really be enjoyed only and only if you have never played the game before, as it makes everything you find feel way more valuable.

Not true. Wretch is primarily for players who have gone through the game and want more of a challenge; I'm doing a lvl 1 wretch build right now. Another thing, and this is something that most people seem to be missing, is that Wretch does NOT have better potential than other classes. You miss out on a few levels so if you're looking to optimize then Wretch is definitely not for you.

For a first playthrough sure go for it but if u want to do a certain build like faith strength where u don't need int or arcane u lose on 4 levels basically if had gone a different class. In general the wretch is inneficent by 3-4 levels which only matters in optimized lvl 125/150 pvp builds

imo im at 125 and have had zero issues in pvp or the entire pve game as wretch as well as the full flexibility to swap to whatever build i feel like trying. it's been really freeing lol

@Keshuel each class has it's starting stats and those can never be changed so if you want to stop at a certain level on a character (like pvp meta level) it's better if you plan the stats you will need by then and see wich class is more efficient. Unlike what someone else said it does make a difference to have more stats in your end build and building new chars that way to have a more varied type of play between them all is a nice goal that will make you play much more of the game than if you just settle for one char

First class I played was Wretch and I did try the dual-wield whips. They carried me all the way through. Had 2 Hoslow's Petal Whips. Put them on cold damage. And focus dex while pouring side points into strength and int when you hit 60 with dex. My lord the damage. Along with Frostbite and Bleed. MMMMMMM Delicious.

it depends if you're going for the PVP meta level. since you need every point you have at a certain meta level. but for PVE only character Wretched is the best. since you can respec everytime with great starting stat allocation. great vid explaining things.

@@vhcxhbvg No, at any level you have the same amounts of total stats, so for pvp meta you want the stats you don't use to be as low as possible. Example: you do a pure melee build, then having 10 int/fth/arc is worse than having 9,9 and 7 of each.

Hell even for PvE the vagabond in general has a better points spread. there are enough cool weapons for int/faith/arcane builds that need the amount of strength/dex that the vagabond has that none of its points are really wasted. the strongest argument could be made that a rivers of blood arcane build is 2 points sub optimal into strength, but the wretch is 1 point sub optimal into intelligence for the same build so its a difference of one level.

But how do you get all the chievos with a strength build. The perfect golden order ending will either mean you gonna have to stat cheese with stats boosters items, clothes and weapon arts(and I'm not sure you can reach 37 int with a starting int of 9), or respec which is a weak mindset undeserving of a bass cannon.

Stargazer heirloom talisman +5 INT, twinsage glintstone crown +6 INT, Godrick's great rune +5 INT, Intellegince-knot Crystal Tear for Wondrous Physick +10 INT and Marika's Soreseal +5 INT.

I chose this class for my playthrough for this exact reason, it made finding weapons/armour more exciting too. I learnt this from DS3. Much better for trying out different builds then you can make a dedicated character later on if you pick a favourite

For the record, i have been having a major problem with ds3 cuz i got back into it right after they shut down the servers so no jolly anything for me. However in DS3 you can go into your options menu and flip a selection that makes ds3 start in offline mode always so if you're like me and playing through dark souls again, check your options menu. Ds1 & 2 I'm not so sure about though.

Vagabond is literally the most versatile class. If you want to min/max pick Vagabond. Just check the MugenMonkey calculator and as long as you're not going for a pure Int or Faith build you'll always get the most out out of your levels while staying at the meta SL/RL.

nah, the wretch falls behinds in almost all builds in terms of SL and is inefficient. If I want to try a str build I just roll a hero. If I want to try int/dex, I roll a prisoner. Multiple characters is the way to go.
