OMG I had a ford cortina crusader back in the day bought it from a scrap yard for £50 still had 6 months MOT on it . All it needed was new brakes. Drove it for 3 years without a fault and i px for a Vauxhall Cavalier SRI.

Great vid Mitch, well presented. The star of the video for me was the Cortina Crusader. Loved them back in the day as a kid and Would really love one as a classic car to take to shows. Look forward to more classic car videos in 2025.

Excellently presented as usual, your enthusiasm for older cars shines through. I grew up in the seventies and eighties and cars then had real personalities unlike today's bland boxes which all look the same. I still remember the smell of my uncle's Triumph Dolomite. My mum had a 1978 Volvo 66 with variomatic transmission! Happy days.

I was fortunate enough to buy and sell in the hot hatch era. Had a AX GTi in a pinky red colour. Rarer than hens teath, no sunroof 76ks + - nice.

The company I first worked for had a Fiesta 1.1 van. It would do over 105 mph ( on the clock) with 3 of us in it ( as the apprentice I had to sit in the back, on the ledge), and it would be carrying tool boxes and spare parts etc. What a mmm achine!

the 2.5 cortina auto is a bit of a mis-match, 2.5 essex likes to rev, but the torque is poor, so a 3 litre was much better bet under the bonnet, and you needed PAS with that iron fitted... the seam sealer was a mess on my [2yo] 1980 fester the mk3 escort cabriolet kills me, it is an XR3, but the girls version, if only... i PDI'd those 200 SX's, they were very fast for their day, but rear tyres took a hiding due to the on-off nature of the turbo, we lost a customer, coroners report, - aquaplaned at approx 100mph into a field, advisories for the service 4 days before accident, [red] renew rear tyres ASAP... well, if you squeezed that beemer in at the end to test the water, it is a NO !!! from me... thanks for 2024, all the best for 2025, see if we can get your hands dirty, eh...
