Nico Evaluates any chance you’d be willing to do "other best lists" for Weapons, Robot Masters, and Levels from the Classic Series? What I mean by that are games you had not included for you original lists. For the levels, just include Mega Man V (Game Boy), Unlimited, and Rock 'n Roll; the latter two, because you play tested them, and even did 'Case, Mega Man' for Unlimited. For Weapons and Robot Masters, Mega Man V (Game Boy), 11, Unlimited, and Rock 'n Roll.

Fun fact: one of the developers who developed Mega Man 5 said that the reason that the weapons are so garbage was because the game was rushed and that was the best I could think of at the time.

I still don't like the Doc Robot bosses, but I enjoy the Robot master stages too much to even care, and I like the wily stages in spite of how easy and short they are. 7 is just underappreciated brilliance, especially for a game that was made in only three months.

Mega Man 9 absolutely deserves to have the highest score on Nico Evaluates. For me, all it took was one stage to know how good the game was going to be. The level design is quite sadistic, but it shows how hard many NES games were in their time. With inspiration from the universally acclaimed Mega Man 2, it put the most popular Mega Man title to shame. I see Mega Man 9 as an old animation series being re-run for the first time in years. The older people, who enjoyed it as kids, get to enjoy it again and remember how good they felt back then. Children who were born into today's generation, on the other hand, get to not only enjoy the show but also learn why it has such a long-lasting legacy.

@@genericyoutubecommentchann7418 Aside from Rockman and Forte, how is there a harder game than Megaman 9?
@genericyoutubecommentchann7418 Жыл бұрын
@@wheatleyturret826 While I think Megaman 2 and 3 have easy segments, I find their hard parts to be much more sadistic. I think the Doc Robot portion is harder than anything in Megaman 9. And it might just be me, but I thought Megaman 7, 10, and 11 were a little harder on average than 9. Mostly because I think the weapons, especially the Jewel Satellite and the Concrete Shot, trivialize a lot of the game. I would also maybe consider the first game to be harder if only because of the lack of polish in some things like the foot holders, and a few of the bosses can be hard if you don’t know how to handle them. And of course, I think Rockman and Forte is the hardest; we can agree on that.
@wheatleyturret826 Жыл бұрын
@@genericyoutubecommentchann7418 nah, I feel like 2 has only a singular hard part, while 3 only has the doc robots as difficulty, but I kid you not, Mega man 9 was the ONLY mega man game that genuinely got me to start scratching myself out of frustration in EVERY. Honestly i think its better than 4 The robot master stages are freaking awesome and very unique each from the other with lots of different twists in them to make them fun like snakeman stage and the platforming in the clouds, spark man and the blocks that go up when you jump them, magnet man and the yoku blocks with the air ducts, gemini man and the eggs that you have to shoot While megaman 4 has good robotmaster stages they arent in the same level,some of them end really fast and dont really leave an impression (dust man, drill man or skull man) Others are plain boring (ring man) and overall the end game of 4 is where the game shines. 3 has better boss battles overall, better robot masters stages and is the first one i consider to get the fortress stages right, even tho they are very short But the real reasons why i think 3 is above 4 is the attention for thinfs that the nes games didnt have. Look at the weakness chart from each 3 and 4 3 had a lot of work into making the player choices matter and really the only game aside from 3 to give you such a degree of experimentation for tackle bosses is 7 (that i consider the best) And 3's ending is really fullfilling and wholesome. You feel that you earned it
@Jrdotan4 жыл бұрын
@Awesome Cat They are ok But while 3's final stages arent as food as 4 4 robot master stages arent nearly as good as 3's 3 just nailed the pacing and enemy positioning 4 has some weird choices here and there that takes a bit of the overall experience Still good tho

The reason why MM2 is bad is because MM1 sold so poorly that Capcom only gave the team a limited amount of time to make MM2. They decided to design the levels first and hold a contest for the robot master designs, leading to Heat Man getting a recolored sewer and Flash Man getting an ice stage. When that was finished, they didn’t have enough time to test the weapons. They just checked that they worked properly and shipped it, didn’t bother to check if they were balanced. In other words, it was rushed beyond rushed.

So once more with feeling, I compared the scores of the games to see which era of games is the best. There's the Classic (1-6), Continuation (7, 8, Forte) and Revival (9, 10, 11) eras. For each era I added up the scores of the games then divided it by the number of games in the eras. The lower your score the better. This turns them into the following top 3: 3: Continuation Era with 8.333 points. Well, if two of your games are in the two lowest spots your score is going to be terrible even if the other one is second place. Gotta agree with this one: MM8 and Bass are easily the worst in the series. 7 however is excellent. 2: Classic Era with 6.833 points. Heavily clustered around the center you'll end up being dragged down by your lower scores even if you have a few good ones. Which is a good metaphor for the first six games: some of them are significantly better than others, especially Mega Man 4. 1: Revival Era with 4 points. Well, practice makes perfect. Having shorn away all but the most basic elements of the game you end up with some very tight design. Mega Man 11 however tried something else entirely, which while fresh did not really feel Mega Man. They could have made the gear system either superfluous or a crutch, and did not commit to either. So good on you, Mega Men 9, 10 and 11: You are the best of the bunch.

Disagree with 11's placement as the design I feel the game is super learnable, and well thought out. Cheap deaths are few, and it always feels like a little more observation and practice is all you need to get through the game. Weapons all have their uses, levels are mechanically diverse with good obstacle and enemy variety, and the robot masters are as well designed as the stages themselves. Perhaps stages such as Torch man's are a bit too hectic (especially gearless) but for a game to have such few unfair/rng parts is pretty commendable. I do agree it's just too short though. Two wily stages and then its revisits and final boss? Shame, but I won't forget the fun I had getting there. My list: 1. Mega Man 7 (Some of the most diverse and fair level design in the series. Wily Capsule 7 was taken too far, but I can't help feeling excited with the level of challenge he brings. My list my bias X'D) 2. Mega Man 4 (Just a great overall package that gets the important stuff right. Hard to complain and easy to recommend) 3. Mega Man 9 (Challenge is a bit much sometimes such as with the near un-reactable Wily Capsule 9, but aside from that its just such an excellent package. Fans who prefer the more difficult Mega Mans will get a kick out of this one.) 4. Mega Man 11 (As I said: Very learnable, and crazy fun to master. The ideal Mega Man experience imo) 5. Mega Man 10 (Its pretty decent! Basically more of Mega Man 9. Very solid and the fortress music is some of the best in the series. Bit of a shame Block Devil and Sheep man's weapon stink.) 6. Mega Man 1 (My guilty pleasure. Plenty of weird flaws and a lack of level memorability compared to other Mega mans, but just doing a quick runthrough of the game is pretty fun) 7. Mega Man 6 (Its frustrating that such a fun game is marred by not being able to jump out of a slide and the constant form switching. That really bothers me, but aside from that its really solid stuff) 8. Mega Man 5 (Hate the wave bike section in wave man's stage. Aside from that its alright. Nothing really grabs my attention) 9. Mega Man 3 (Love most of the game, but the doc robot stages kill any enthusiasm I have for replaying it) 10. Mega Man 2 (The game is visually and musically memorable, but its design seriously annoys me at times. Who thought boo beam trap and wood man were fun bosses? A good nes game, but a flawed Mega Man game.) 11. Mega Man 8 (Is this even a Mega Man game? Half the stages are unfair autoscrollers. This is the result of variety first and polish later) 12. Mega Man and Bass (Burner Man, Dynamo Man, King stage 2. Need I say more?)

MM2 is not only popular "due to nostalgia" - if that were the case, then people would praise MM1 just as much, and they would also praise "Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest" at least as much as "Castlevania", but they don't, because MM1 and C2SQ are considered worse games, for lots of reasons. And there is generally a reason for why people feel nostalgia for very specific games.

It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either) #11: Megaman 3 (hold your pitchforks, like I said it’s been awhile, I just don’t remember loving the level design, and I can’t deny how much the doc robots pissed me off) #10: Megaman 5 (one of three games in classic series I’ve only beaten one time, I only remember defending stone man for some reason. Robot masters were mostly ok, Proto man stages felt lazy as hell, and the end game was ok) #9: Megaman 1 (I’ve played this game a lot, and I like some parts of it. It just felt too short and a few of the gimmicks and stages are really poorly done. The fights are also split between being really well done and really poor. I like it, but it could be better) #8: Megaman 8 (yet again, hold your pitchforks, I used to love this game, but now I can’t think of it nearly as highly. Haven’t played it in a while, but I still remember liking it. Not going to lie, I’ll probably rank it lower if I replay all the games) #7: Megaman 11 (the first megaman game I ever played, I loved it. That being said I haven’t played through it fully in so long that it’s a bit harder to rank. I also used to only play on the easiest difficulty, so this ranking is definitely skewed. I liked the robot masters, the end game was good overall. Also damn that soundtrack is amazing) #6 Megaman 2 (I wont deny that I think it’s a bit overrated, but man I can’t deny how much nostalgia I have for it. Easily the game I used to play the most, pretty decent line up of robot masters, and genuinely one of my favourite end games, probably due to nostalgia) #5: Megaman 6 (I remember this game being really good, and that’s about it. I remember really liking the robot masters, I can’t remember why. I know the game is really good, it’s just not as memorable as some of the others for me) #4: Megaman 4 (I have both amazing and terrible memories from this game. I hated Bright man and Ring man, and I can’t deny Dive man gave me a bit of trouble, but playing through the Cossack stages and later the wily stages during the nights of my Christmas holidays will forever be some of my best megaman moments. Oh, and this game has some awesome level design and end game bosses) #3: Megaman 10 (used to be the king, fell down a bit because the top two just have better robot masters. I love the many additions like the difficulty settings, playable characters, challenge mode and achievements, and of course the robot masters. End game was also phenomenal. A treat the whole way through) #2: Megaman 7 (I can’t believe I used to hate this game. I was so bad at it that it skewed my ranking, but man. Level design and robot masters are impeccable. Patterns, pristine. Hell, the wily fight might break my balls because it’s so hard, but I can’t deny it’s a well done fight) #1: Megaman 9 (I love this game. I have been torn between my favourite robot master for so long, and all the contenders are in this game. Galaxy Man, Magma Man, Jewel Man, Hornet Man, they’re all amazing. End game was really good too, and the music was fantastic) Overall, the classic series is full of masterpieces

24:23 My problem with the game is how most gimmicks are done to death in a lot of stages (spanning across multiple checkpoints), and maneuvering around them can feel like a chore (Commando sand, anyone?). Not much is done new with each gimmick in the second checkpoint it is used (with exception of Chill Man).
@rhyperiorhunter73398 ай бұрын
honestly when watching the footage you show of megaman and bass I just constantly ask myself "what are you doing?" like at 2:14 why would you not just kill the monopellons before trying to get on the train, of course you die to that as the game should punish just trying to brute force your way through, or 2:12 why would you think the game wants you to do that when it shows you how to use each weapon as soon as you get them, both of these and the squid enemy section from the worst stages feel like intentionally playing poorly just to make megaman and bass look bad which is quite disingenuous, if anything examples like that punish trying to just brute force your way through without thinking and encourages taking your time and being cautious

MM3 is my favorite, but because of nostalgia. It was the first MM game i ever played, and the only one I ever actually owned on the NES. So alot of the other games I never got to play until much later in my life. After playing the rest of the earlier MM games, I can see where their were advancements and setbacks in the series when comparing to my favorite. I can objectively say that almost all the games after MM3 were mechanically superior, as they should be. I will definitely put MM4 and MM9 on a higher pedestal because they exemplify what MM games should be. I'm still iffy on MM7, due to it's slowdown, but its still a very solid game. And no developer should ever do what MM8 did, which was everything wrong. Some of these games, including my favorite MM3, suffered from short or rushed development cycles. If I could change anything about MM3, it would be a long list.

1-2. MM9/MM11 These have the best level design, weapons and bosses. I prefer the music in 9 though. 3. MM7 The secrets are absurdly hidden and i hate slashman paralyzing attack. Otherwise, awesome game. I think that the progressive stage selection is actually a good idea. Love these sprites. 4-5. MM10/MM4 Both are pretty good, although i have a few gripes with some stages here and there. I would give the edge to 10 for QoL stuff. 6. MM6 A pretty solid title, even if the menuing kills the pace. It also didnt move the series forward, when MMX had already came out. 7. MM5 Charged buster is busted and the weapons are pretty bad. I actually like several stages. 8. MM2 Stages and bosses are pretty mediocre, and metal blades are op. 9. MM It has aged in quite a few places and the bosses are terrible. Weapons are actually pretty good 10. MM3 It is this low if only for the copy robot stages 11. MM8 Too gimmicky (i hate the skating sections), childish tone, no enemy variety and slow menu. Good bosses. 12. R&F I like the disk collectibles, the progressive stage selection and the weapons; the rest is terrible. Btw, I think these games would benefit from eliminating the lives system and from replenishing ammo when you die (if the ammo of each weapon is appropiately balanced).

I loved 8 on my first playthrough. Ever since I've never been able to get into it again. I start a file, play like 15min, exit and play 7 or one of the NES games. It was one of the first I played when I was a kid but never beat it. W/that in mind I beat it when LC2 came out, maybe I was excited at that time having memories of the game. Now though I just can't. Feels bland, and the longest I played since was the Saturn version just so I could fight Wood and Cutman. After that I haven't picked the game up again.

Fantastic list! More people need to call out Mega Man 2 for what it really is. A cluster of fun ideas with bad execution. MM7 is definitely my favorite one, and I'm glad you acknowledged it to such a high degree. Mega Man 4 certainly deserves more recognition. It's the most balanced Mega Man experience one could ask. Mega Man 9 is great, and I can certainly see why people rank it so highly. In my opinion, the game can be pretty trollish at times, more so than your average Mega Man game, almost acting as a parody of a Mega Man game that is unorthodox rather than just being traditional. I think MM8 gets a bad rep, simply because of it's awful voice acting. The levels, weapons, and bosses are all perfectly sound, which is the most important aspect to a game anyways. MM&B is not for the faint of heart. I like the weapons quite a bit. One thing that is much to the game's detriment, which applies to MM8 as well is the lack of E-Tanks.

My list. (I don't have 9, 10, or 11. Just depending on how Nico's evaluation made my opinion.) 12- MM&B. I was really excited to play this game, only to find out that this game is good only with Bass. Playing with Mega Man is just a "screw you". 11- 8. God, this game. It's so god awful. If this wasn't Mega Man, I would actually enjoy it. I do like the bosses. 10- 2. The first Mega Man game I played. I was determined to beat this game, and I did. ONCE. Never could beat it again. I'm still trying to use less of Metal Blade and makes use of the weapons, buts it's just so unbalanced, I was crying for Mega Man 4. I was expecting a really good Wily Stage 2, and what do I get? A background in the colour of feces. Wily 4 might possibly be the worst Wily Stage I have ever seen. This is my Top 3 least favorite Mega Man games. I'm done. 9- 5. To be honest, I personally enjoy 5 more than 2. It's still doesn't scream Mega Man to me. I find myself using the weapons for fun, even if they aren't that balanced (because of the F*CKING charge buster), the stage I kinda enjoy, but the Robot Master fights... eugh. They are just to simple. I only like Charge and Gyro. 8- 10. I don't know, I was confused where to put this, sure I don't own it yet, but it looks so fun, yet so bad, I'm confused. It's probably not as good as some games what comes to flow. The weapons don't really look that powerful, apart from one half of the arsenal. The Boss fights look really cool, especially the ones Nico likes. Overall, I hate myself for giving 10 this score, but at the same time, I feel like my opinion just shouts at me to keep it here. 7- 6. This game just feels like the most rushed. The weapons are just there, they use the same sound after you fire them, the bosses are a bit interesting, and the level design is just the same. It's not horrible by any means, I do enjoy this more than the games at the bottom of my list. 6- 1. This game might be the shortest, but it's Capcom's first attempt at Mega Man. Stages look good for the first game, bosses are pretty fun even if they only cycle through 2 attacks, and the weapons are more fun to use. 5- 3. Inafune said that this was his worst attempt at Mega Man. First of all, did he look at 2? Second, the game isn't even that horrible. It's pretty fun, Weapons are good, apart from the goddamn Spark Shock, and the bosses... seriously, what is up with Robot Masters having only two attacks? The Doc Robots are just not needed, they are garbage. 4- 7. Don't know why people bash this one. It's more passive, but it plays just like Classic Mega Man. Weapons are fun, The stages are mostly awesome, music is embedded in my mind, and the fights are just good old fun. Shoutout to Wily 1. 3- 11. This is a nice way of redeeming 8 years of silence. It looks gorgeous, the robot master lineup is really fun to play (or maybe it is, I don't know, I don't own the game, goddammit), the weapons are really cool looking, and everything just makes sense. It is really short, which is a disappointment, the Wily Stages looked really cool, but then that's about it. At least you have different difficulty settings and the challenges, I guess. 2- 4. The first Mega Man game I beat. I was so fed up of Boobeam Trap, I ragequit 2 for a while and tried out 4. I have to say, kudos to Capcom for making this game. It's just good ol mega man fashioned fun, Cossack and Wily castles throw a real challenge, and the weapons? Just feed me them (That came out wrong, lol). I had so much fun screwing around with them. The robot masters though, were a letdown. After that awesome sewer stage, you're expecting something dangerous, but then it's like, "Hello, I'm Toad Man. Oh, I'm dead." It's still my No. 2 game. 1- 9. Now I know what you're thinking. "Dude. You don't even own 9." It looks so fun, I just want to invest my cash in a Wii-u for THIS game only. It's hard, which I like. It flows well, which I like. And it gives replay value, which I also like. The graphics look a bit lacking, but it's nothing to sneeze at. Man, I'm crying because I don't have this game. EDIT: I've rethinked about my list and thought I would rank 10 above 6.

Now 7 is a very beloved entry, same with 10 and 8 has its own niche of fans too. Honestly every game has its own little vocal fanbase. The only games that dropped in popularity since the 2000s are 2 and 3. ESPECIALLY 2, the fanbase respects the game but if you mindlessly simp MM2 you won't get much respect which is nice because the mindless nostalgia fueled biased towards 2 really grinded my gears back then.

Best to worst in my opinion (can change pretty much any day of the week, but this is generally how I feel): Mega Man 5 Mega Man 11 Mega Man 7 Mega Man 4 Mega Man 8 Mega Man 6 Mega Man 9 Mega Man 10 Mega Man 2 Mega Man 1 Mega Man 3 Mega Man & Bass I don't really care about how well the games and levels are designed so long as the core gameplay is solid. I don't mind repetitive elements or overpowered weapons, so long as there's at least the option to do something fun. I also don't usually play through to the end of the game very often, as by that point the game has little replay value. I like special weapons in theory, but don't like the process of switching weapons in practice. Even quick-swapping is uncomfortable, so I'll usually just stick with whatever weapon I feel like playing around with for a stretch of time. I feel like 5 and 11 are the most fun to pick up and play, while 7 is my go-to for whenever I want to get to the castle stages and beat the game. 4 trails just behind 7 because of its weapons, which I think were just the right course-correction from 3's useless selection, but are greatly outshone by just how much fun I have with Noise Crush and Wild Coil. For all its faults, 8 is still a fun romp with good weapons (especially when you make fun of the cutscenes), and I find myself wanting to play it more than most other games in the series, even if I quit halfway through. I have the most mixed feelings about 6, 9, and 10. They're really good games quality-wise, but I just don't have as much fun playing them as I do other games in the series. 9 and 10 suffer _immensely_ from the fact that they were emulating Mega Man 2. Despite how much fun the weapons are, I don't want to have to go through any of the stages buster-only to _get_ those weapons, nor do I want to be locked into half-health because I like the charge-shot and slide. I dislike the original trilogy most. 2 is the most polished out of them, and 1 is short enough for me to excuse its BS footholders and Wily bosses. I have no respect for Mega Man 3 - they give you the worst possible weapons to deal with the levels (Spark Shock particularly), and you don't have the charge-shot to fall back on when those weapons inevitably fail you. Also screw Mega Man & Bass, all the homies hate Mega Man & Bass

It's always fun to hear other's opinions because the Mega Man series is SO good! Other than Rockman and Forte I don't think there is a bad game or even a mediocre game in the entire classic series. I actually consider Megaman 4 and 6 to be on the lower end of the spectrum because the music in those games just didn't do it for me. Some of the castle music in 4 was actually superb but the stage themes couldn't hold a candle to MM2 or 3 (my personal favorites...I have never seen someone spit on the glorious MM2 like you... for shame!) "Critically speaking", I will take MM2 or 3 over 4 any day of the week. 😜 One game that we can certainly agree on is Mega Man 9 though. 2:30 I don't think it's right to say the stages in Megaman and Bass are made for Bass, it's just that he can cheese a lot of the platforming with his double jump. If the stages were really meant for him, they'd be more balanced around his maneuverability. The stages feel like they're made for Megaman, but made not too well.
@NicoEvaluates4 жыл бұрын
Depends how you look at it. To me, it always felt that they added Mega Man into the game on last dev day.
@gravethestampede34544 жыл бұрын
@@NicoEvaluates Bass feels more like an unlockable character, as in it feels like his campaign isn't meant to be challenging (outside of maybe Cold Man), but just a fun romp where you can blow past obstacles with relative ease. It feels you're not really experiencing the game as much for better or worse.

@@NicoEvaluates Bass has several disadvantages to Mega Man. Almost all of the bosses are harder as Bass, Bass has no health recovery items, Bass doesn't have a lot of the useful items Mega Man can get, you can accidentally double jump into a lot of offscreen spikes or enemies, and Bass has to fight his way through a lot of sections that Mega Man can out right slide past. Honestly I like playing this game as Mega Man more. I think many people plays as Bass first then play as Mega Man and conclude that he isn't made for the game as they compare their experience with him to their easier times with the some of the levels as Bass.

The stages are well designed around Bass, though the boss fights fit Mega Man (they still suck as Mega Man)

Glad to see that you'll be doing an endgame boss ranking video. Are the ones from 7 and 8 that are in the beginning/middle of the game going to be included?
@NicoEvaluates4 жыл бұрын
That'd be a miniboss list.

My list (except for Mega Man 9, 10 and 11, 9 and 10 i don't complete at all and i don't have Mega Man 11): 1-Mega Man 7 (favorite of all) 2-Mega Man 3 3- Mega Man 2 (second favorite) 4-Mega Man 6 5-Mega Man 8 6-Mega Man 1 7-Mega Man 5 8-Mega Man 4 (less favorite from all) 9-Mega Man & Bass/Rockman & Forte I'm gonna be honest, i like them all, other more than others, except for Mega Man & Bass, such a hard game, no, a game that it's worst to swim in a volcano, i respect you're list, i'm not ok with someones, like Mega Man 9 (because yes, i play not much Mega Man 9) i fell it really hard, thank godness 10 have a normal and easy mode (i play in normal mode with Protoman in this moments) and i don't have Mega Man 11 so i don't say nothing about the game

Love your list! Nearly perfect! Only thing I would do is put 3 above 10, and, honestly, I never liked 7 much. Didn't feel like it moved right. I'd put it maybe above 6.

A'ight, as broadly requested, a commenter's list (it changes with my mood): 1. 3 2. 7 3. 5 (Yeah, I know, I'm pretty much alone in this) 4. 11 5. 2 6. MM&B 7. 8 8. 10 9. 9 10. 4 (Sorry, I hate the charge shot in this game. Not 'cuz it's OP, just 'cuz it's clunky. And it's soooooooo slow.) 11. 6 12. 1

I love rockman 5. It's not high on my list though because the weapons aren't to great and it's way to easy.

HOW IS MEGAMAN 6 SO LOW?
@LionelRGuy2 жыл бұрын
@@Davi-zo4lu 'Cuz it just feels the laziest. The Rush Adapters are nice, and the multiple paths are a nice touch, and I love Centaur Man, but a lot of the rest just feels phoned-in. I mean come on, EVERY SINGLE WEAPON in the game uses the same standard buster pellet "POIT" sound effect. INCLUDING THE CHARGED BUSTER SHOT. INCLUDING THE POWER ADAPTER (which has an ADDED tiny little whoosh, on top of the poit). (Except for Centaur Flash. Somehow THAT one got to have its own sound effect.) Eh. Yeah. Bugs me that much. Always has.

You're pretty on point, but I personally can't stand 7. I hate the aesthetic and how cramped the entire game feels. 11 is my personal favorite and I've been playing the series since 89.

I finished Mega Man & Bass yesterday, no nostalgia for it. I liked it despite sone parts of unfair design, but that was in small increments.

My list (And reasoning) MM&B: I dont even have to say MM8: Once more, I don't even have to say. MM3: Ehhhhh. Ehhhhh... I love the boss stages and weapons. But I hate the Doc Robots and Wily Stages. It just rubs me the wrong way. Not to mention the horrible glitchines. It hurts me cause I wanna love this game but... the bugs are annoying. The slow down is annoying. The bosses are annoying without their weaknesses. All I can say is it's just kind of annoying. After beating the robot masters, I really just give up on it. Which is sad. But let's talk more about why 3 kind of sucks. I feel like people only like it cause it set the precedent for future Mega Man games. (Sliding and Rush.) But... MM4 did that too. And did it better. Take away the slide and rush and you have a sub par, if not janky game. If I can't play it while more than four enemies are on the frickin screen... I won't play it at all. MM5: My guilty pleasure. I love this game but dear god it can get ugly. I won't beat a dead horse but it's still my baby. It falls flat on its face during the Proto and Wily stages. In fact. They personally piss me off. I will say. Weapons? Could have used a buff. They can be used and used well but the Mega Buster just tears through literally everything. Also what's up with the bosses? Their parents must've been siblings cause I've seen crack babies with better skill. They make Metal Man look good. That's a problem. If I can beat a boss no hit my first time playing (Which I did! Stone Man and Star Man were both it!) Then you're doing something wrong. I want challenging fights. Not whatever that was. Over all it was a very meh game with very meh mechanics, meh fights and meh everything. Just meh. Meh. MM2: I like it... to an extent. I agree on many points made for and against this game. Wont beat a dead horse. MM1: My second guilty pleasure. It's fun. Every weapon besides hyper bomb feels good to use, the stages can be fun, the bosses are pretty okay. If it were a word, it would just be "okay." MM6: I love this game! I mean I really love it. Weapons are actually good, stages are good, bosses are... meh. Even the X and Wily stages are pretty good. There are some oopsies here and there but I tend to overlook them. Maybe a little to much but still. MM11: I tie it with MM7. Why? The new designs are eye candy, weapons are fun, bosses are great, double gear is fun to play with. Sounds like maybe the best game right? Wrong. These stages are shorter than my will to live. And if they are long, they tend to have retarded gimmicks like the moving platforms in Impact Mans stage, or the spikes in Acid Mans stage, or the bouncing in Bounce Mans stage. One thing I really hate is the Wily Stages. not cause they suck but because they're short. A Yellow Devil fight, an orb fight, boss chamber and Wily. Scraping the bottom of the barrel now huh, Capcom? Must be running out of things to put in front of Man. MM7: Now listen. Just because its low, doesnt mean I hate it. In fact, I like it. But I never got the same feeling I got when playing the NES games. Does that make me blind to nostalgia? Well if you see where literally ever other game but 4 is beneath 7, no. When playing a Mega Man game I want good weapons. 7 didn't have many. I'd say I only use 4 or 5 out of the 8. And some of the weapons I use can suck also. Stages are fun and bosses can actually be beat Buster only and feel good to do so! Sure, you can rape Spring Man, Cloud Man and Turbo Man with their weaknesses. But they're awesome Buster only. Maybe Turbo Man less but still. Also, stage interaction is top notch. Scotch wheel to melt ice and burn trees? Genius. Freeze Cracker to make it snow in Cloud Mans stage and freeze lava in Junk Mans stage? Genius. MM7 was a collective brain orgy of good ideas. Bass was a fun new character, Wily was tough but fun. Everything lined up just right. MM10: Call me a sucker for Proto Man and Bass for being playable characters. There's a lot of content backing this game up. I feel like I can play this game over and over and never get bored. Everything is good in this game. Not great but good. And it sits right there. At the good tier. MM4: I love you. Weapons, Bosses, Boss stages, Castle Stages... Everything is perfect. I cut it a lot of slack cause I feel like the devs wanted more still. But the NES wouldn't allow it. It gets all my love. MM9: Pretty much what was said in the video. I got the Daily Dose trophy (beat the game once for three days) just out of the fact I love the game. All bosses can be beat buster only too. Which is a polite way of saying "Listen. We know you don't know the weakness order. So instead of kicking you in the balls with someone like Shadow Man to rape your every hole, we're giving you some nice, fun but challenging bosses all around. Everything is perfect, even up to its length in stages and gameplay. It feels good to play. I like that in any game. Now I would love to go further in depth, but I'm not spending all day here. Hell. I'd love to go real deep into game play and such like ya boy Nico. But not in a simple comment.
