This seems like the perfect controller to play with Street Fighter 6. Both the game and the new Snack Box Micro are very thoughtfully constructed, it's amazing that we live in a time where the consumer is considered this much by both a AAA game studio and a mom and pop store In addition, your controller reviews have gotten so much better. You just went really in-depth with this one without wasting any time. Great video as usual!

You are the reason that I found the snackbox company in the first place seems like it’s been about a year or more and I keep going in periodically to find the current availability. I used to live in Georgia, but have recently moved to Alabama not far from the gulf. I’m pleased to say that earlier this week I was able to order one from their site. Unfortunately it wasn’t the woolie one. It was in between the micro and the new two player control panel for my Taito Vewlix. I guess that Vewlix is going to have to wait till I can get around to my street fighter six rebuild of the cabinet. Keep up the good work and thanks for being there.

I feel like I was very ahead of the curve on this, back in the late 90s and early 00s I used to play neo geo fighting games on an emulator with a keyboard. I actually preferred it greatly to a controller especially samurai shodown 4, doing the moves was so much more crisp and responsive.

Probably had to compromise in order to accommodate all the buttons and keep the controller as small as it is. A slightly thicker and much larger area option (to accommodate full size extra buttons) is the Mpress controller. However, like the snackbox, it's often out of stock...

I would like to get an official snackbox micro one day, but for now I have transitioned from using an arcade stick to an ergonomic keyboard that helps me position my hands differently, and I have not had carpal tunnel since the launch of SF6, so I just wanted to say that leverless controllers are definitely a great option for people with carpal tunnel or tendonitis issues. Also, with my tiny hands, I prefer smaller controllers with smaller buttons in general. I can't actually reach all the punch/kick buttons when they're all 30mm in size, and I have to shift my wrist left and right, but I don't have that issue anymore.
@0o0sean0o0SPC

@@0o0sean0o0SPC I think it's partially because my hands are small, and I have to strain my ring finger and pinky a lot more for the HP HK buttons. I can't reach the fourth buttons next to those without shifting my wrist slightly, it's super frustrating.

I got so lucky to get an order in for the 2023 micro with art case earlier this month for the week of June 26th. Very excited for this. These controllers are really in demand because I sometimes check the site to see if convex buttons are in stock (they never are) and the micro hasn't been in stock for a while. Hopefully it comes back soon and hopefully they also restock on the heavy metal plates and buttons lol, most things are always out of stock on their site but it makes sense now that they are getting so popular it can be hard to keep up with demand.

I actually find the new buttons are not as good as the old ones. I prefer the rough surface of the old buttons rather than the smooth new ones. Other than that, usb-c is a godsend!!! But I do find that holding the snackbox too close to my body actually hurts me after playing for a while as I have to twist my wrists a little to hold the buttons correctly & that added stress, albeit little, is enough to cause discomfort after a coupe of hrs of play.
@NihongoGamer

I wish companies like Hitbox and Junkfood Custom Arcades would make all-button controllers with traditional "WASD" layouts for the directional inputs. Because no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to get my muscle memory used to having the Up button be on the bottom. I'm used to a lifetime of playing PC games on mouse and keyboard with the W, A, S and D keys for movement. I'd love to have one of these well-designed controllers but with a WASD layout. It would be great not just for fighting games, but also for arcade games like shmups and beat-em-ups.

Most pc games have 'space' as 'jump', which is the same as 'up' usage in fighting games and is the analog of hitbox button placement. 'w' is normally forward unless you only play 2d games then it is sometimes jump or up which are sometimes distinguished too(lots of 2d games don't use 'w' for jump either). Do you have a hard time jumping in 3d games?

This feeling of uncertainty and nervousness I have must be the same feeling others have when thinking about going from a controller to using an arcade stick. It's hard to wrap my head around using buttons with my fingertips for directional inputs. Just because I know I won't be able to translate what I want to do when I first start using one, and I'll be worse at the beginning because it's a whole new way of playing. I never got used to playing with a stick on my lap, so I used a makeshift table to be between my legs to put the stick on. However, it's cumbersome to pull all that out and my special chair just to play for a bit. So I've been using a controller to play Street Fighter 6. Even though I'm worse and have way more mis-inputs when using a controller, it's just easier and more comfortable to play with a controller because I can lay back. Would like to try one of these out one day and try to get used to it. Seems really convenient, and with how it's designed, it seems like I'd still feel like I'm playing on an arcade stick. Because I would just be changing what I use with my left hand and still have that typewriter feel of hitting the buttons on the right.

4:44 "Finding a good pad one is much harder than, Finding a good arcade stick. And even if you do manage to find one that you like, most of them are built with conductive rubber which eventually wears down leaving you with little choice but to Simply buy a whole new pad." - SOOO TRUE, not me struggling with the DS4 Pad. Its nearly perfect, I just hate when they use a conductive rubber, which wears down easily. As a fighting game player; TEKKEN (Specifically) DPADs that uses a conductive rubber is not ideal for daily use, especially on intense gameplay in fighting games.

People will be like: Playing fighting games on the keyboard is atrocious, use a controller instead. Playing with a controller is unauthentic, play with a fightstick instead. Fightstics are outdated, you know what you should use? A KEYBOARD!

I bought one in March. Love it, BUT I have my concerns. I still don't really know how durable it is if i mash buttons or just press slightly stronger. Plus the top gets scratched extremely easily, which is a shame. Apart from that, it's an amazing product.

switch wise very durable and its hotswap so worse comes to worse you swap out one of the switches (usually they are $.50 a piece or less). These use the same buttons as a low profile mechanical keyboard, meaning they are meant to be smashed and having millions upon millions of keystrokes. Hot swap makes it so you don't even have to worry about that and can try multiple different types of switches. Awesome concept imo and love my snackbox

@ARMediaOfficial you can just swap out the switches but idk if the PCB might get damaged over time. I don't think so and I've never heard of anyone breaking the PCB tho so idk

I have the Snackbox, I get skipped input allllll the time due. For example if you're from blocking direction (1) and try to do fireball motion (236) really fast, often you let go of (1) and push (3) at the same frame skipping (2). The down button being higher than the left and right with jump at the bottom took forever to get used it, hurts your brain. I would love to try a mix box but it's ridiculously priced, may as well just play on keyboard.
