This is probably the last of Critical role campaign 2 episode 3 that i'm going to animate before moving on to episode 4. Gonna do a few scene more but that's probably gonna be like an unfinish storyboard for my personal satisfaction :D

Also, not sure if this is a faux pas or rude, if you're going back through C2, I just did a pass myself. (Spoilers below, for the uninitiated/those not through C2) Would be interesting to see the only self-crit in Critical Role history - the escape from the Kings Cage. I feel like I've seen animatics of Yasha being left behind in the vault, but it ends there. I think it would be quite a comedic break in tension letting the scene play further, and watching Caleb sucker punch himself in the face trying to cross the bridge over the gibbering mouther, having just lost a party member. Personally one of my favorite D&D moments I can think of during that middle section of C2. 😅 If losing Yasha was the dramatic set-up to a comedic moment - hands down, Caleb delivered the best.. punchline. Edit: I put the spoiler warning a bit too low to be effective 😅

MN has the best start of any campaign I've ever watched. The cast of characters played so well together and the eventual.... Happening to one of them (no spoilers here) and how they were immortalized in the campaign solidified it for me.

I personally LOVED Nott, before Veth. Nott was way more fascinating and interesting. But Veth was definitely the happy ending version of Nott. I just kinda wish Nott had lasted longer, before we finally got Veth. Like....Veth kinda should've been the tail end of the campaign, instead of towards the middle.

I forget what episode, but Nott explains to the other members of the Nein that she's the one who actually takes care of Caleb and that she'll pretty much go all out to protect him.

@@EddieJET This, is was around episode 8 or so. She VERY MUCH is acting as his mother and guardian. It comes from her motherly instincts and how she had to leave her child due to the curse that we were not privy to for a long time. It showed the strong character dynamic between the two.

​@@slvaltva1392It's really good the way they play that sorta codependency, Nott being an alcoholic and in Sam's own words having all of her emotions and quirks amped up to 11 because of her goblin form, while still being a caring maternal figure. Meanwhile Caleb is super smart, paranoid, and cautious, but still somewhat a traumatized teen mentally on account of having lost over a decade of his life having gone insane and getting locked in a sanatorium. Sam and Liam play them so well!

Caleb is clearly underestimating the little gobbo and speaking down to her. But Nott loves him so much, she tolerates being patronized, and takes it all in stride. Just like a mother would, when her boy is getting too big for his britches. Especially with how quickly she whips out the gold, like "Lol, I know what you're after, dummy. Just stop talking and take it already." Super cute. ^w^

Liam has said that he started lighter on the accent to begin with, because he wanted to make sure the audience and other cast members could understand what he was saying. The more he played Caleb, the more he fell into what he felt the accent actually should be.

My husband pulled that kind of reverse uno move. He invited me to a bookstore to let me pick out any books I wanted for my birthday. I took 2 hours to go through my list of books i needed, wanted and to complete collections. Get to the end andim widdling down books. Campaign 2 was definitely my favorite. C1's beginnings are very rough as they get into the swing of things, plus all the cringe and awkward moments and tension with Orion until they get rid of him, but by the time they get to Whitestone it improves a lot. And C3, to me, has just felt so intensely slow like very little has happened across many episodes and while i'm curious about the moon stuff and I like Lord Eshteross, the rest of C3 just doesn't have the same appeal. But C2 was just... Beautiful. Beau was very annoying and abbrassive, particularly in the earlier episodes, and I didn't care much for Molly, but the episodes were still good, and after Molly died everything really took off and it just became such a good story full of good interactions and interesting places and characters.

I think what I love about this is that, upon first viewing, you probably won't see the "caring" side of Nott as the other comments put it. It's there, but in a perfect roguish way you're misdirected from it. Then you get later in the campaign and you have the joy of going back to see where the hints were dropped by Sam!

Party was in a similar situation, but my rogue has upwards of 300 gold by nature of me just not spending any of the money I earn because I just loot and pillage everything else.

Run a game set during Neverwinter's ascention crisis. Party was off on a dungeon crawl to see if they couldn't get in contact with Bregan D'aerthe mercenaries to get discreet weapon supplies, and ran off the rails a bit and found an old dwarven stronghold. At the end they fought a Dwarven Wight who wore a crown, whose greed cut corners and cost the lives of their men, the self appointed King of Pale Rock. After beating him, was giving out the loot. Adamantine Ingots, a full plate of Adamantine (Worn by the king) that would have to be resized for the Paladin. A the Adamantine Crown with emerald gens encrusted, and a gold inlaid in the shape of iron hammers about the front worth around 1500 gp. I fully expected the party's forge cleric, an ornery dwarf to request the adamantine ingots, and offer to reshape the plate so that the Paladin could properly wear it. I didn't expect the party's Rogue to ask for the crown. So, the thing is, the party was using some of the old Neverwinter themes, reworked so they could be usable in 5e. I knew the Rogue had the Neverwinter Noble backround (Others were a Pack Outcast Shifter Barbarian, Dragonborn Paladin Harper Agent, Human Renegade Red Wizard), but I didn't expect them to turn around later and using the crown they had gathered to serve as a new crown, citing that the old one was just representing the old Neverwinter. Just shows to show you're never sure what people are going to get attached to, or use, rather than just sell
