@pierrex3226
@pierrex3226 7 ай бұрын
That's awesome. Super expensive, ofc, but I'm very familiar with 3d printing but their robot is the next level after the next level, and you've got to amortize that thing. Then it's got to take hours and hours of robot time, so you can only make one at a time. Then you've got to pay for the scan rigs at bike fitters'. And in materials costs alone, they probably spend several times more than your typical competition. And it's in California where everything costs an arm and leg in the first place. So I'm not buying a pair, but I'm not the target audience anyway. Will be interesting to see results over two years, because I don't think many shoe companies will start using 4 axis 3d printing robots anytime soon, and 5-10pc sprint increases should lead to a lot of wins. Then number of podiums should do the talking for them. Very nice innovation.

I’m trying to figure out how it works. I find it interesting that Neill Stansbury says “stiffness and power transfer because of stiff soles is a load of rubbish, it’s a tiny spring and you get the energy back” in an earlier video about what to look for in a shoe and then claims that the Lores give great power transfer because of the dorsal (top of shoe) stiffness here (8:00) by effectively elongating the power stroke. If the former logic is true (re: spring return), why does that not apply to the dorsal aspect of other shoes?

What about your cleat position? It looks like your cleats are more forward. Which is fine if you're not heel dropping anymore, but it definitely contributes to better sprint, riding in a bunch etc.

These shoes seem very interesting to me.. I recently got some G8 insoles and this transformed my Sidi shoes into a more effective power riding my Xc mtb. It will be interesting to see what the long term use will be for the cyclist. The foot is meant to be used in human gait, but in cycling the foot lacks feedback from metatarsals to the ankle, hence why arch support is important in cycling shoes. I wonder how limiting ankle movement/flexibility, will affect the cyclist (specifically the knee,) with limited hip mobility. On another note, these shoes seem to attempt mimic, what the Norwegian power pedal did back in the 90s.
@bikefitr

There is no limit in the ankle dorsiflexion with the LoreOne or LoreTwo. The LoreOne acts as a top down foot support. There is less of that in the LoreTwo, which does include arch support with a modular systems similar to G8.

I've literally theorized about this for a year. I ride with barefoot minimalist shoes for awhile. Over time I've found that tightening higher up on the laces, closer to the ankle works better. The only downside is the flexibility of all minimalist shoes. You are really forced to strengthen your foot to pedal with minimalist barefoot shoes. I always wondered what it would be like to have a rigid sole.

Id consider this purely because of a custom shoe to fit my wide flat feet
@edsassler
@edsassler 7 ай бұрын
So replacing the structure of the foot with a carbon external prosthetic - this explains the lack of an arch support, or the need for it. Much like the new carbon plate running shoes, the gains are made by removing losses inherent in the human body. There are gains to be made, the engineer in me is all about efficiency in power transfer, but frustrated bike fitter in me hates this idea. In a world where 0.1% of the riders out there can make use of aero advantages of new bikes, 60% of the bikes come with proprietary stems and internal brake routing, making fitting a royal pain.

What’s the likelihood of this race and Olympics winning tech that increases athlete performance to an unprecedented 5% to not show up with elite athletes and teams but with KZbin influencers? When it seems too good to be true…

@@roadcyclingacademy at least this video shows that Neil knows how to read since his impressions are verbatim the shoe website content. Even the 5% increase claim. I actually respect his bike fitting knowledge but this kind of advertising is doing no good to anyone.

@StephanDrake-hf4kf 7 ай бұрын
@@marcvb3364 Hi, you referenced the Bonts as weighing 1/3 of these. That would imply that a single Bont in a 42-43 weights 100g, which isn't correct. Of course there is a bunch of variance per model within the range, but most Bonts are in the neighborhood of 230-260g (460-520g/pair) at this size vs 300g (600g/pair as Neil says) for the LoreOne. Thus the weight difference per shoe is roughly speaking 40-70g, which is negligible in terms of performance, and especially given higher efficiency and force transfer. The LoreOne is lighter than a Lake CX403, for further reference, which is 315g (630g) for a 39.
