I have the 14 inch 7.62x39 Bren 2ms and I started it with the HBI Selector and Charging Handle but after about 5 months I swapped them out for the NEOTERIC DESIGNS ones because their Selectors are Longer and angled downward l almost an inverted 1911 thumb style but work AWESOME and the Folding Charging handle does not get in the way and is longer than the HBI or OEM. Also the HBI Trigger is AWESOME but the addition of the 922R Disconnector Elevated the Trigger to a whole to Plane with a Trigger pull of 3 LBS 9-11 Ounces! You might want to take a look at Haga Enhanced Backstrap is takes the Bren Grip to much better Ergo and makes it feel like a Magpul MOE type! A3 Tactical makes an Awesome Magazine Release Paddle and button.

Gotta get a few things done then head to my range and film my July 4th video. If it works out like I have planned, it should be fun. If it fails to work out, it'll still be fun!!! I'd say out of all the upgrades, the HBI trigger has the most impact for your buck and is cheap, along with HBI's gas port job they do for suppression.

AK12 inaccurate, HK416, SIG Spear and X95 too expensive, SCAR too slow rate of fire, Steyr doesn’t have enough after market and full auto is too weird…CZ Bren 2 is almost the perfect rifle

Totally agree. The Sig Spear is expensive now. I recently found a 16” X95 for $1650 and grabbed it. It shoots like the Bren - added geissele trigger - like an AR. My 8” Bren is so cool and light. Love em both.

About the haga lower not functioning correctly...The hammer on whatever AR trigger you are using isn't thick enough. There is a firing pin block/safety(silver lever) in the rear of the bolt carrier assembly that needs to be pushed out of the way during firing. You can either remove it or get a trigger with a thicker hammer. There is a guide on the haga site somewhere. Weird that it works on the 8" though.

My next purchase will be a Bren 2. I go to the Czech Republic every year for my job. I’ve become friends with the guys at CZ’s flagship store in Prague. Since my first visit to their shop, I’ve bought five CZ’s. FYI, if anyone gets the opportunity to visit Prague, I highly recommend visiting their flagship store. It’s like a museum of CZ firearms!

I recently ordered the latest version of the Bren 2 machined aluminum billet but returned it. For the most part, I liked the function and fitment, but at $430, I was expecting a better-manufactured component; it looked like a newbie machinist prototype, with rough and aggressive milling - no finishing passes on several areas, plus it had blem-type flaws under the finish. I hope Haga can find a better manufacturer because he has a well-designed product. I understand trying to save costs on low-volume runs, but the item I received did not meet my quality expectations at this price point and is hard to justify as an upgrade primarily for a better grip.

The factory gas piston on the pistol variants has adverse, normal, and off. No suppressor setting without getting the off setting drilled out or replacing it with the HBI gas piston.

I sent my gas regulater to HB Indistries to put the smaller hole (or the bigger) cant remember which (my wife has to remind me as well, haha) Now, when I run it surpressed it doesnt cycle. No matter what setting. Very frustrating and aggravating having to stop after after each round. So now not sure what to do next. Have to research a little more. Thanks for you video. Excellent!!!

I got the HBI regulator. So far it’s working ok suppressed and non-suppressed. Sorry you had that issue. Call/email HBI see what they say.

Correction : On the gas regulator 1 is unsuppressed, 2 is suppressed and 3 won't even cycle, turns into a bolt action for super accurate zeroing. Been using Bren 2 in Ukraine for 18 months now. Very good platform.

Regarding your shorter barrel Bren 2, have you had any issues with the folding adapter for the brace slightly slide out in rear? I've noticed when shooting or just doing some dry fire drills the SBT brace adapter slightly slides out leaving a fingernail thick gap between the lower and upper receiver. Haven't had any issues yet but it's somewhat concerning. I assume we both have the brace and adapter kit from A3 Tactical.

You can, it's just tricky to maneuver it out. The screw hole of the pic rail section gives you access to the plug detent.
