The Best Dahlias For Wedding Design | White Dahlias | Blush & Burgundy Dahlias | Peachy Dahlias

We are sharing our picks for the best dahlias to use in wedding design work. We learned early on that not all beautiful dahlias look good in wedding bouquets. Some are the wrong color, the wrong shape, or the wrong size.
When it comes to choosing which dahlias to grow for wedding work, you can never go wrong with white, blush, burgundy, and peachy colors.
We prefer ball shaped and Pompon dahlias for use in wedding design because those look good in any arrangement.
We also grow the large dinnerplate and other specialty varieties, but if you want workhorse dahlias, stick to the ball shapes. Dinnerplate dahlias can be a bit awkward to work with in hand bouquets.

I got some Dahlias at aldi this year for just 2.29 and was able to seperate the tubers into 5 plants

I know this is old but I’m rewatching it as I’m going to focus on dahlias for florists (and tuber sales) going forward. I’ve found that my Crichton Honey had the same inconsistent form that you described and, from the pictures I’ve seen online, I think perhaps that’s just in its genetics? It seems to have an inconsistent form with some looking like a perfect ball and some looking a bit twisty in the center.

Yes, Wizard of Oz is not supposed to be bright candy pink. It’s supposed to be a very soft pink. Maybe what they got was either mislabeled or a “sport” of Wizard of Oz.
