Congrats! Of supreme irony, I played against this exact deck build this morning, with me piloting your Dimir Faerie build. I’m only just getting back into the game after a decade hiatus. But I eked out a Sharky win, after a greedy swing by two Djiins. 🤓The same Fae cardboard deck took me to FNM win at my local shop. Thx for all of the instruction and patient gameplay. 🙏😎

This deck just does work! Now in the top 300 after my latest win. I love siding in monastery mentor for decks filled with spot removal. I haven’t gotten the turn two oculus yet, I got close I had surveil land and revival spell only to draw the oculus to start the game 😭, but damn have I pulled off some fun stuff. Most disgusting thing I’ve done of late was helping hands for a mentor and then recommission for an oculus and I just ran away with that game. Thanks as always for the videos and decklists.

This deck has been so fun to mess around with and tweak. In Bo1, I even recommend just dumping the Djinns and running Main Deck Monastery Mentors and Founding the Third Paths. Mentor is a nightmare for targeted removal and for Red Aggro and with no Djinns to worry about, I think Third Path is better because you get double Prowess / Token triggers, and you will play Oculus from your hand FAR more often.

someone needs to check out this town aint big enough for the both of us 😅 sure its 2 mana but not only can it save or reset etb 2 of your own permanent you can also tempo the opponent by saving your creature or returning ikora to dig further and maybe returning their leyline binding that was holding your occulus or something

Yeah I always used ephemeras dispersal before also like the surveil 2.. unsummon being 1 mana all the time seems really nice.

What matchups are sheltered by ghosts for? I would have thought elspeth’s smite was better against red decks as the one mana interaction allows us to more rapidly advance our gameplan
@darthsantaCLAWZАй бұрын
They can grow out of smite range with enough buffs or the hexproof enchantment will protect.
@samuelgames897017 күн бұрын
sheltered is an absolutely insane swing against any aggro deck. Remove their best permanent, give your biggest thing +1/+0 and lifelink and ward 2, swing. Even if they can remove it, usually that life swing and tempo loss (extra 2 mana for removal) is enough. The last game showcased really well how good it is even in one of its worst case senarios.

@Ashlizzlle ohhh, I haven't finished the video yet. Makes sense I forget that flood maw is only opps creatures. Just crack it at end of turn like normal, I love when people do stuff in response to your play and it taps them out and it’s something that doesn’t change about your turn especially when they do on first main phase like wait till end of turn you have the lost info you know instantly they’re bad

Fading hope is better than unsummon due to the scry effect, but massive GGs to winning!!! (Fading Hope would be better due to all of your creatures being mana value 3 or less, so you would scry every time you bounced your own creatures back)

This video is a little misleading. She states that “unsummon can also target our own permanents”. No it can only target creatures. And having the bonus of bouncing a get lost from manifest dread means you’re losing the match when you u could just into the flood maw ANY of your opponents non land permanents. I’d rather make sure any nasty enchantment gets bounced that bouncing any creature. Especially since this meta is all about enchantments sticking around. Imagine enduring curiosity sticking around permanently after it becomes an enchantment.🤦♂️ Also, Kiora in this deck is a weird take. It dies to cut down and I rather bring back a tolarian terror with ward that’s a 5/5 with ward 2 with recommission than Kiora. 🤷♂️
@AshlizzlleАй бұрын
I meant to say unsummon can target our own creatures, which if you read the card you'd know You're also just objective wrong, bouncing a permanent still means they can replay it, what does bouncing a curiosity back into my opponents hand do? They replay it as a 4/3 creature anyways, bouncing buys you a turn, it doesnt solve a problem. Unsummon however can solve the problem of having your few wincons exiled or gaining access to a card (manifested) you otherwise couldnt gain access to. That's INFINITELY more valuable in a deck like this, we deal with problematic permanents after sideboarding. On top of that, you playing Tolarian Terror in your Oculus deck means you are severely disconnected from the meta Oculus decks anyway, which is a pretty strong indicator you should probably just observe instead of spreading misleading information in my comments 😉
@BlazingSerenadeАй бұрын
bro no one asked for your opinion lol - if you like the card then you use it to win a qualifier
@BlazingSerenadeАй бұрын
can you read recomission and look at Terror's CMC lmao
@spenceravila4385Ай бұрын
unsummon cannot target your own permanents. It’s not my fault you stated that in your own video. Reading the card explains the card and unsummon didn’t do anything in your videos that into the flood maw would have done more. Yes bouncing a permanent means they can replay it. But isn’t that the point of making your opponent wastes an early t-2 t-3 turn to reply a powerful enchantment/artifact. Sorry but seeing a synthesizer, urabraks forge and up the beanstalk just sit on the field permanently means you’re relying on get lost to solve all your problems which is just wrong in this current meta. And not understanding tolarian terror can easily be easily triggered in this deck shows you rather be a one dimensional deck which is fine but it limits your end game potential but you do you. It’s misleading to a lot of people who see this video thinking that your way is the “new meta version” of this deck when it has less answers than the standard variation of this deck. With all that mill with your pick lock pranksters, chart of course and more, having a terror come out for one cmc seems pretty good to me.
