I think saying Amy is the best at following the rules undersells here abilities. She is the best at logically solving traditional cases. Jake is better and unorthodox thinking and solving unusual cases. But Amy is better at solving traditional cases.

The Jake monologue is S+ tier, if you're talking individually... Jake Peralta is the best. However, so much of their success is based on teamwork, and Charles Boyle is the ultimate team player. He gets along with everyone, hangs around with everybody, works the hardest and is the most supportive man in the entire precinct. Contributing to so much of his peers successes definitely makes him the overall best.

I absolutely this factor about Brooklyn-99 that nobody is unqualified. All of them have the ability to solve different types of cases, and they do that well. And they have a great captain who recognises their speacialties and assigns them cases based on that. No one is just a "comic relief" there, even if all of them are funny in their own ways.

For me, Amy really proved she was a badass detective when she went undercover in a maximum security prison, aligned herself with a dangerous murderer, and uncovered vital information that saved Holt’s life

Jake was also a badass detective. He was able to solve each and every crime that involved being in protection or prison. He could have fooled the boss inmate if the boss didn’t tell where the drug was. Another great accomplishment Jake did was knowing Holt’s tell.😂

In my opinion. They all have their own strengths. Charles is the best team player, Jake is the best at thinking outside the box, Terry is the most responsible, Rosa would be the best at undercover work due to the fact no one knows anything about her, Holt is the most in control of his emotions and having the best one liners, Amy is the most organized and by the book. Hitchock and Scully are the best at food, Gina….. is gina, for how else can she be described? The rest I have no clue.

I love how you can see the dentist’s thought process in his final interrogation. He clearly starts with statements like “that’s not true” and “no I didn’t” because they don’t actually confirm anything and he figures he can get away with saying them, but as he gets more agitated he continues talking and slips. It makes the whole thing way more believable than if he was just silent and then confessed out of nowhere. Really well written scene

Imo opinion the squad are an amalgamation of the best detective Jake thinks outside of the box and sees things other people might not, his child-like personality helps lighten the mood and make everyone around him feel safe Amy’s intellect is rivalled only by her ambition to be better, that makes her determined and focused, meaning there are making no mistakes Captain Holt is a natural born leader, he isn’t afraid to speak up and defend others when they can’t and that makes him extremely brave and honest Charles isn’t the most physical person but he is very hardworking, his talents help him fit in and become the most useful person in the room and be a team player Rosa is the most versatile and volatile person and that is important when facing dangerous people, fighting fire with fire What Terry makes up for in strength he also makes up for his care for others, he is a parent first and foremost and makes him the ideal person to approach with any problem Gina is absolutely open minded and creative. She has a charm no one else possesses and that can make her cold yet very understanding Hitchcock and Scully are the worst detectives yet they share the strongest bond, having a friend by your side is important and they remind us of that every day. In this line of work a partner is also important , the world can be a very lonely place so to have that friend always be there for one another is the best thing, no matter how weird things get

theres no debate- theyre all the best. everyone has their equal strengths and flaws. jake is a master at noticing the small things but can often get cocky and miss the biggest details right in front of him. terry is brawn, and he's got brain too, but both are overshadowed by his emotion and empathy. rosa and holt are both absolute badasses but contrary to terry, they both LACK emotion and empathy and as a result, have difficulty in certain cases. rosa also is aggressive and rough at times and can forget to look at the whole picture. amy, while great at noticing detail like jake, tends to overanalyze things and can be brash and jump to conclusions. charles is actually extremely knowledgeable in many things and is excellent at people skills and reading others- but he can be overly kind and often blunt, and is much more of a follower than a leader. and even gina, while she isnt a cop herself, has incredible social skills and manipulation tactics- but she can be selfish and nosy. i could even say things about hitchcock and scully- they had a great primetime. despite being the doofus characters, hitchcock is pretty intelligent and good with technology, and scully can be quite intimidating when he wants to be. overall- everybody is the best detective in their own way, but its the group as a whole that succeeds.
