I have a 2021 Model 1 in Payne's Grey. The service is impecable. I asked and they agreed to make it a two rather than three hander so I can focus on the dial as much as possible. Also, they will custom engrave a map location (like your neighborhood, city etc) of your choice on the case back which further personalizes the watch on at no additional cost. Finally, at time of order I selected one strap and over the course of waiting for the watch I changed my mind and then simply included both choices. A wonderful company!

I appreciate you covering lesser-known brands like anOrdain. The more established brand reviews are great, but with so much interesting stuff happening in the microbrand space, I'm leaning more and more towards newer brands that are innovating and creating unique designs. I'd love to see more reviews to help out these smaller startups and showcase any interesting watches they're creating.

I’m not sure if they’ll still do this under their new batch production model, but when I ordered my Model 1 I was asked which wrist I would wear it on and how the watch would be left overnight (face up or crown up). The movement was then regulated accordingly and the result is that it runs consistently at -0.5 s/d. 100% agree that AnOrdain are worth your attention precisely because they care deeply about what they are doing.

Teddy great video. I met the team at Anordain at a Worn and Wound event in NYC two years ago and their dials are fantastic. My 20 year old son who’s a Junior in College loved the pics I took of their watches and this watch will probably be a graduation gift when he finishes college.

I can't say enough about my Model 1 Payne's Grey Fume. It's a spectacular dial and watch! I like it so much that I have a second on its way. I do agree with you on the glare and I give you credit for the great photography. It's one of the hardest things I've tried to photograph to date. The only other issue you'll have if you want one is the wait. Mine took about 4 months from order. They've moved to batch builds, so it's a bit of luck to secure one as the batches are released. There's a huge demand and limited production, which may equal frustration. It's worth it all once you see the dial in person!

I had a chance to review the post office red (non fume) version of the Model 1 and the orange fume version of the Model 2. anOrdain knocked it out of the park on both. Beautiful watches. I will add one to the collection one day for sure. Highly recommend.

I recently bought an anOrdain. The 10 week wait was worth it. The watch is as accurate (mine is as accurate as my certified Chrono Christopher Ward) I have the Green-fume. It is eye catching, beautiful, and often draws compliments - which as we know is pretty unusual from non-watch people - and never the derision I've seen from certain folks regarding the likes of Rolex. The movement starts as a 2824-2, but they strip it down, pull the date complication out, and put her back together. But, most importantly, their customer service is superb. I had several back and forths as part of my order's unique nature (it was to celebrate a milestone) and they never failed to be timely and courteous. It's one of my most cherished possessions. Also, their strap options are pretty fantastic. My green with Russian hatch leather is nothing but... Beautiful.

Ordered this exact watch but with the new La Joux Perret G100 movement in January (I was on the waiting list for a long time and missed out on the most recent drop) They said they'd be shipping it out to me in May or June, so I hope that gives people an idea of what's going on with the waiting list at the moment. Apparently they produce 14-15 dials a week now.

I was unaware of, and am very impressed by, this Scottish brand. However I want to alert those of you who agree with me about a Swiss brand that I believe is the worldwide quality leader in the production of ceramic dials, Lundis Bleus. I happened upon the brand two years ago because it is a brand carried by the prestigious Dallas-based Timeless Luxury Watches. Lundis Bleus has specialized in grand feu ceramic dials since their founding in 2016. Their prices begin around $4000. In addition to their world-class ceramic dials they have a very unique case design, colorful exhibition backs, and exclusively use the top-of-the-line Sellita SW300-1 movement. The limited edition 3rd anniversary watch I purchased from them is the second favorite watch in my modest collection, only behind my Rolex 16550 creme dial. Lundis Bleus is worth a look if you’re a ceramic dial aficionado. Congratulations on yet another great video Teddy!

What sucks about microbrands is you rarely, if ever, get to see their watches in person. Pretty much have to buy, or be given or lent, to see one in the metal. Thus, I enjoyed and greatly miss the Worn & Wound Wind-Up Watch Fair where there are many microbrands, including anOrdain, to see up close and get to talk to the brand owners personally. I feel fortunate to have been able to attend this free watch fair in San Francisco twice during the first 2 years they held it before the pandemic crap f'ed up everything. Was looking forward to going the 3rd year in 2020, but we know how that year was like. Anyways, I had the pleasure to see anOrdain, talk to the owners (nice folks, btw), and examine their lovely dials in person. These are a must see in person to get the full visual effect. Doing great unique dial work. I did a video of the watch fair and anOrdain is in it. One of my last impressions were maybe the watch were a little petite.. since dial so nice, I think it would serve and showcase their dials well to maybe up the size of watch and dial just to see even more and better... Actually, maybe the size is fine :) They don't really need it, and it's really most all about the dial (s). But, I would also like to see if they can integrate some lume onto their hands and dial.. I just like a low light show to admire the watch and be able to tell the time any time of the day. And, yes, I like to see brands and watch offerings that aren't so mainstream and "hidden gems" so to speak.

I really wish I would quit seeing this watch pop up on my feed... because I have no need for it, but I absolutely love it! To my eye, it's possibly the most beautiful watch i've ever seen. I love the simplicity in the function, but the massive difficulty to create the dial make it such a contrast. It's taking all of my will power to not get on the waitlist.

anOrdain has been on my radar for a some while, the dials almost look organic in the way the light interacts with them. OK so it's an ETA2824 base movement but as you say these are easy to service and spare parts should be plentiful. Thanks Teddy for reviewing this brand. As I live in England a trip north of the border may well be needed at some point for a closer look.

Lovely watch and could be even lovlier with an exhibition back and if the dial markers could be 18ct gold. I realise a crystal caseback is more difficult to seal but the watch is dressy and therefore unlikely to see water

That is an amazing looking watch, and something I never would have known about had you not done this video. Thank you! On a side note, the use of Arabics for the hours and on the minute track are a combination I have specifically been looking for over the last couple of months, and it is really surprising how few options there are... seems like the only options are field watches or Fliegers, so this watch is a real find in that regard as well.

I own a plume fumé model. I love it, but in real life the color is much more plum (purple) than the deep red depicted in the video. The reflections on the crystal are a bummer considering how striking the dial is. Legibility of the hands also suffer unfortunately. Movement is very well regulated, and overall the craftsmanship and personized customer service is exemplary.

Mine took over 3 months to receive, so their new system of producing models ahead of time and making them available on a certain date may work better.
