Man, Ryo's backstory is nuts. He's actually the main character from the Digimon Wonderswan games, a Japan-only LCD console, and comes from the Adventure timeline. He's actually involved on how Ken became the Digimon Emperor, and his recurring foe was the Jogress evolution of Machinedramon and Chimairamon, the super-powerful Milleniunmon. He was stranded in Tamer's Digital World at the end of his adventures.

I had actually started rewatching Tamers about a month ago when I bought my Gallantmon starter deck (which was also the first set of cards I ever bought for this game). I think it still holds up really well and might just be my favorite standalone season.

Tamers is my favorite Digimon series and one of my favorite anime. The main Digimons story is good but impmons/beelzemon story is absolutely amazing. Also Jeri's scenes where absolutely terifieng when I was a kid

EX-2 is a great place to start if you want to build around these digimon and if you're a Guilmon fan I recommend the ST-7 Gallantmon Starter deck plus pulls from EX-2. Other than that the latest Starter decks ST-9 and 10 are both competitive with some help
