If you could write a second letter telling goodnotes about how annoying it is that when having hover turned on, it messes up the edges of each word by adding sort of a "swing" to it, it's been complained about on the reddit plenty times for a year and its not a problem that's due to hover, since notability doesn't have this issue. Great video by the way !

That ‘swing’ is the reason I don’t use Goodnotes. I’ve tried a dozen settings but I can’t get it right. In Apple Notes my handwriting looks normal, in Goodnotes it looks chaotic.

GoodNotes problem has the whole tool bar on to that takes too much space away from the paper! That really affects my visibility on the screen , i wished the was a way to make it smaller or dissappear

I made the big investment in a new iPad to use the Apple Pencil Pro. Even though a lot of people can't afford that, so it might not be of wide interest, could you have a discussion of how you use tip flatness and barrel roll in your note-taking? I already like it even though my PaperLike 2.1 screen protector got lost by the shipper so I am far from having the new iPad dialed in as well as the old one was.

If they only based the width on speed, then it isn't true to life of a real fountain pen. It is pressure that determine width. When you push down, you spread the tines and as long as you have a good enough ink flow, you will get a wider line. If the ink can't keep up, then the line "railroads" (you get two lines with nothing in between) or stops completely.

My problem with all pens in GoodNotes, not just fountain pen, is that every letter leaves an ugly „tail“ behind, that isn’t going with the flow of your handwriting. And I have noticed that this is not the case for all iPad users. For some people it looks ugly, for some not. Which was quite disturbing.

The only problem with all these digital apps is - when I write something and if I have to refer back to something that I wrote above and retain that information to continue further from where I left off, it is a problem. Paper just works fine. Additionally, writing on glass is not satisfying as well..

Are there any chances for stabilization settings? I find that would fix most of issues related to how strokes feel and respond while providing some correction to the stroke. Art programs often come with them and it makes all the difference. This would be the push for me to upgrade to GN 6.

I have the exact same situation with my Boox Go 10.3. I love writing with the fountain pen on my Amazon Scribe, but the tablet’s functionality was limiting. So I purchased a Books Go 10.3. I love this new tablet, too, but the fountain pen on it is just not the same as on the Scribe. It is like the fountain pen in Goodnotes 5. I so wish Boox would make it write like the Scribe’s fountain pen. Such a little thing, that means so much.😂
