"Did I mumble, Mother?" is such a great line, her tone and expression gives me chills every time. I have to say this is definitely my favorite Disney Princess movie ever. The music and story are 10/10 and the characters are the best. Amazing reaction :D
@SevenEllen3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say it's a great line, it's more that she's standing up to someone who has been her captor her whole life. I feel some of the dialogue could have been stronger in this movie, like Flynn not joking Rapunzel should 'get back in that tower' but rather be the one who is all about encouraging her to speak about her mother openly without Gothel intruding. That way, he can help her work what's really going on without the movie spelling it out to her. Rapunzel should have been the one to cut her own hair too, as it's more dramatically powerful (that, and, you can't actually cut someone's hair legally without their consent).

Everything he does is to build her up even allowing her to keep her frying pan and freeing her from her hair knowing he'd die. He knew she wasn't bound to her chair and would be able to stand her own with Gothel in the room. Gothel is the villain, Maximus and Pascal are the heroes, and Vlad collects unicorns because he is one.

@eaglefan25693 жыл бұрын
When you do the same thing for years on end, you get really efficient. And if she does it consistently, every day, there wouldn't be a lot to paint, read, mop, wax, brush, and sweep since they'd stay very clean and known.
@jack.cummins3 жыл бұрын
@@eaglefan2569 doing her hair would take a long time in itself right, along with all the other stuff
@eaglefan25693 жыл бұрын
@@jack.cummins Well yes, they would, if you were just starting it out after not doing it for a while. It's like when you let dishes pile up in the sink for a week- it takes a bit to clean them all because they accumulated. But if you washed every dish every day, you'd get really fast at cleaning the dishes and would spend less time doing them because there's less work to do. My point is that this is Rapunzel's "usual morning line-up". She does all or most of these tasks fairly consistently, if not every day. While it would've taken her a while to get used to when she first started doing it, she's clearly familiar enough with these tasks to finish sweeping, polishing, waxing, laundry, mopping, shine-up, and sweeping again in 15 minutes. If you did all these consistently there'd be very little to actually clean up, so you'd just be touching up and done early. Also, there is a time gap. "Then after lunch, it's puzzles and darts and baking". While she did the chores in 15 minutes, some tasks (reading, painting, guitar, knitting, and cooking) took her to lunch, then others (puzzles, darts, baking, paper mache, ballet, chess, pottery, ventriloquy, candle making, sketching, climbing, sewing, and brushing her hair) happened after lunch. Take into consideration that just because Flynn was robbing the crown at 8, the guards chasing after Flynn and the Stabbington brothers wouldn't have been assembled immediately, and it would've taken them a bit to get into the forest. It would take time to get back to the tower as well. Gothel was gone a few hours before she noticed Maximus and knew something was wrong. Keep in mind the entire story takes place over three days- the day before Rapunzel's birthday, the day of Rapunzel's birthday, and the day after. The scene around the campfire is where it transitions between the first and second, so the events of the first half of the movie took place between 7 AM and night fall. Then they spent an entire day in the kingdom. Eugene's prison escape and the last act were all that last day.

"Was the flower in her the entire time and not just her hair?" to answer your question, yes. the Sundrop is inside of Rapunzel, and her hair is just where the magic of the Sundrop happens.

I love flints reaction to finding out about her hair, finally a "normal" reaction to something like that XD

That's my favorite reaction as well. That border of freaking out always puts a smile on n my face. Frozen is good but Tangled rules!!

Something that I think you might want to know: When Mother Gothel says something nice to "rapunzel" she says it to her hair, but when Eugene says something nice to her he moves the hair from her face, so he's acually speaking to her and not the hair

Once you see this Tangled animated series from after the movie you'll get to know more about Gothel and what she had during the flower and before Rapunzel, also how Rapunzel met Pascal, and where Flint came from

My favorite Disney movies of all time have always been The Lion King and Aladdin. Nothing that has come out after the 90's movies has even come close to how I feel about those movies until I saw Tangled. Instantly became my #3 favorite movie. The songs and story are fantastic. Mandy Moore and Zachary Levy were perfect for the roles along with doing all the singing themselves. I also always cry just thinking about how the King and Queen must feel after 18 years of releasing lanterns hoping that the daughter would return while not knowing if she ever will.

People argue that this was the most unrelatable Disney princess movie but for me, the gaslighting is pretty close to home. And I think all the possible mental health disorders you can understand through this movie are amazing. Very well played. Amazing characters. Prompts to Disney for teaching children about a tough subject indirectly

The end was that it wasn't the flower that was in her, it was the Sundrop. The Sundrop is an ancient power that was split around the beginning of the world and so there is both the Sundrop and the Moonstone on this world. The Moonstone is only important in the tv series (which is actually pretty underrated) but the Sundrop was in the flower. Once it was used to save the queen, the Sundrop transferred to Rapunzel, her long hair was just a conduit for the Sundrop's power. So she still had the healing (and more) power within her even though her hair was cut.

The series is also good. Good character development and world building. Especially in how they set up the big bad, Zhan Tiri. It provides a lot more background to the “sun drop”.
