Cinderella (2015) was the best remake that Disney has ever made, I've seen it countless times and I still enjoyed it till this day. Everyone was perfect in their characters and you can tell it was released in the time when Disney was careful in making their remakes. That ballroom scene alone has way more soul and heart than most Disney remakes

Yep. The first Alice In Wonderland was really good, it took inspiration from but was different in a good way. Cinderella knocked it out of the park. What these two also had in common was they weren't musicals. However they got sloppy and just copied and pasted and then decided to make musicals with people who couldn't sing.

@@jorgealejandro672 About the live-action Aladdin, that movie was quite of a mess, despite of good performances of Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, and Will Smith as the Genie. For the fact is that there are problems within the live-action Aladdin movie: • the miscasting and awful performance of an actor playing the live-action Jafar. • Guy Ritchie is not a good fit to direct a musical film, such as the live-action Aladdin. • The weak screenplay. • The cheap-looking quality of cinematography costumes and production design. • The choppy and confusing film editing. • The awful and choppy-looking Visual Effects.

9:58 to be fair, the one to truly blame for this dress is Emma Watson. I love Emma but her idea that Belle's looks should be more in line with a feminist aproach (Light & easy to move in ) was what truly killed this dress. Sure, she was not the one who designed it but i doubt she would agree to use a version more inspired on the animation (with a big puffy skirt & long gloves)

Not only that, but her refusal of corsetry saying corsets are essentially anti-feminist. A load of rot. Maybe Emma Watson is smart, but there's a damn reason corsetry was necessary for evening gowns in the past. All those skirts weigh a ton and a corset or stays gives structure and helps hold all that weight. That's why her dress is in that lighter sort of chiffon material and doesn't have much volume compared to the original. Anyone who actually studies fashion history knows that corsetry is not this symbol of oppression its made out to be. It's no more malicious than a bra.

@@ElizabethMcCormick-s2n I say this as someone who studied fashion history and design. You can't make ballgowns without structure and even then they're not comfortable but people have the issue with the structure and not the actual garment causing discomfort. Not only that but tightlacing was not a common practise but a trend and not even possible until the mid 1800s and the live action film is apparently set in the mud 1700s were they would be using stays and not corsets anyway. Different things, same purpose which is structure. Not only that, but corsetry was worn by all classes, so working women also wore them. There had to be a degree of flexibility and comfort. Also, corsets were not just for women. There was also male corsetry that was certainly not uncommon. In one point in time, it was popular for a man to have puffed chests so they'd pad their chests and corset to make the effect more noticeable. In short, corsets are hardly the biggest example of anti feminist clothing at all. Hell, I would argue the modern day is far worse in terms of clothing.

I love Ariel’s live-action tail and hair. But they really should have stuck with the seashell bra. They could have made it incredibly beautiful with things like mother-of-pearl or clamshells and pearls. The scales just look off, like what is the point of a mermaid even having boobs if she just grows scales where a human would have nipples. What would be the purpose of fat accumulating there? It doesn’t make sense realistically-or at least as realistic as pertains to fish-humans-or stylistically. Belle’s ballgown is lackluster compared to the OG (and even the excuse that Emma Watson refused to wear a corset doesn’t hold up, since you can’t even tell if Belle’s wearing one in the original film!), but it’s not terrible. It’s just a pale imitation. That Snow White gown, though, is nothing short of god-awful! From the ugly hair to the weird way the skirt attaches to the bodice to the sleeves to the garish color palette, it’s hideous. Honestly, they could have just repurposed one of the walk-around Snow White dresses from the parks and it would look better than that abomination of fabric.

Plus, we got Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Idris Elba as Shere Khan, Bill Murray as Baloo, etc., etc. etc. The cast really helped make the remake stand out and was one of my favorites. I didn't mind Belle's ballgown in the remake. Sure it could've been more glamorous but also considering she rides off in the dress to save her father, that probably also had a factor in the design. Galloping away on horse, the dress needed flexibility. (also that really bothered me in the classic vers, her dad is facing death in the woods but she had time to change outta her dress lol) However I definitely agree on Cinds ballgown. That was perfect and suited her incredibly.

It would be nearly impossible for the actress to get the shade of red in question that would match the original Little Mermaid character’s hair color. Red is such a rare hair color and it doesn’t come out so naturally when people dye their hair red at all. I know this because I am a redhead myself.
