FYI, not every version of Sambar here is sweet. Some are very spicy, some are tangy with a more tamrind flavour and so on. My favorite is Kal menasu saaru, it's spicy and delicious.

Keshri sheera is a sweet dish. Kesar is saffron n sheera is with semolina ,sugar water or milk, to cook it. .Try it. The best sweet dish of all.

This was indeed nice! In TN, the dosa tends to be crispier, in KL, the preferred texture is more paper like. But Bluru, rather than developing a certain nature, has truly made it a science, they got dosas that all south Indians like. But I really dont like the typical Karnataka sambhar, smh. Meanwhile, AP/Telengana be like that's cute, y'all make rice dosas. Hold my pesarettu....

Yeah for someone who speaks predominantly Hindi, "Tatte" might sound funny. It actually means a "plate" in Kannada. Idly when takes the shape of a plate becomes Tatte Idli.

Funny how people from the South get triggered when someone says they had Dosa from Delhi "how can a North Indian cook authentic dosa?" without realizing that most Dosa places in North are run by south indians 😅 AND if you talk to them they're all Ex Employees of famous Dosa places. They come here because they can charge 3 times the price. So don't worry, no one's losing out on authenticity 🙏

@@Nishanth_mementomori Depends on the place. Looks like you've never eaten Karnataka style sambhar. Kannadigas add jaggery to Sambhar. It's meant to be sweet unlike the Tamil preparation which is spicier and a bit on the sour side.

Hoping to start a war here 😜, vidhyarti Bhavan dosa is overrated. Bangalore's idli vadas and dosas are best had in small joints in different places. You should start in malleswaram area with Veena stores, then move to surya refreshments etc... There's an amazing idli vadas joint at malleswaram railway station. The best places for dosas and idlis are small and inconspicuous guys... Bangaloreans will know what I am talking about!

Karnataka dosas are generally mediocre, TN is obv the king, followed by AP and Kerala. AP has better rice on the whole, nice chutneys/pachadi and they don't have the awful Karnataka sambar. Kerala has the advantage of having the best coconuts in the world. I don't know where dosa originated from but I'd bet somewhere in TN. Eggs are great on dosas too, whether as just sunny side eggs, or stirred with chutney and veggies and slathered on the dosa to make something like a crepe.

I'm a local, never ever go to Vidhyarthi Bhavan, the staff is not the same they were decades ago. They became very rude, the standard went low and they are milking with their brand alone. Every freaking food vlogger began to promote them for free and it became very cultish among outsiders to visit Vidhyarthi Bhavan and wait for hours. It's stupid how you have to wait for half an hour to eat a Dosa and that alone became the main attraction!
