Everyone talks about how grt Nawaz and Pankaj were and I totally agree but why do we forget Manoj Bajpai, I mean sardar Khan blew my mind. He was so fucking natural, manoj was spot on....

As someone who lived in hinterland Jharkhand in childhood and then moved to the metro cities, I never expected something so grounded to come out of Bollywood. That is the win of this movie, appearing to the mundane lives of the 90% India.

Coming from the same state as Wasseypur, why Sardar khan isn't "classy" because men in that state aren't "classy". Atleast not during that era. Bihari people hate show off or fancy thing and judge Bomby Delhi people for their fancy looks as being feminine and fake. Infact, people in Bihar even after having millions in wealth, buy cheap cars and keep their houses low key. That's why Sardar khan isn't all classy.

Scorsese is not actually wrong, not entirely anyways. You can have a debate on the points, but to dismiss him as just an old cranky man is silly. To pretend Hollywood is producing the same quality content as some decades before, and with the same frequency, is even sillier. Quality has overall gone down considerably. Some good and even excellent movies come out every year but this is not the same industry that regularly produced movies that have gone down in the all time greatest list, sometimes multiple films every year. Now I can count great movies Hollywood has made in last 20 years on one hand. All eras have good and bad, but all eras are not equal where art is concerned. And he is not wrong about Internet and the need to be thoughtful about that either. Of course nobody likes a party pooper and people will laugh him off so we don't have to spend any energy doing any sort of deeper examination, awareness and accountability is anathema to the world we live in now.
