The BEST Doubles recipe ** The ONLY DOUBLES RECIPE YOU NEED**

3 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp tumeric powder
3/4 tsp yeast
1 tbsp brown sugar
warm water for mixing
1 tbsp oil,
1 tbsp curry powder,
1 tsp tumeric
3 tbsp shadon benni all together (added at intervals)
1 tbsp geera added at intervals
2 cloves garlic
salt to taste
Oil for frying
1 1/2 cup channa and 1/2 cup split peas/dhal
soak with 1 tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp baking soda
** Please take note that some tumeric/saffron powder brand may be stronger than others and may have a re action to the baking soda.

Tried many, but this is the best doubles recipe ever. Bara was soft, and tasty but slightly red so will cut down on the tumeric next time. Channa was perfect. Made on Xmas eve and Boxing day too. Was a hit. Thanks a lot.

Here is food for laughter:Yesterday after following a different tutorial, my barra came out like fry bake😂🤣 and though soupy the channa was a little hard 🥵😢 probably because I was advised to cook the splitpeas and channa together.😜😢 Luckily, I just stumbled on your video...your explanation could not have been more precise. Love this recipe! Wondering about the brand turmeric used. I’ve tried a few and I get the reaction you mentioned in your transcript( the bara turns pinkish, orange-ish)
