Fun Fact: in the DKP fight, Goku's Kamehameha is smaller as a reference to OG Dragon Ball where the Kamehameha was small and narrow also rhyme, he did explode in the anime as well as the manga, just for dramatic effect ig

Ive always thought that if Dragon Ball: Kakarot started in the OG series it would be amazing. Traveling with the whole crew and collecting the Dragon Balls, fighting through the Red Ribbon Army, the tournaments, and concluding as the OG did. THEN you open up to DBZ and find out you can fly and it opens up more than before. THEN it ends with Super beginning, and multiple DLC goes around it and maybe an alternate DLC for the GT era.

That's exactly what I want in a Dragon Ball game. I want to have a story that goes from the original Dragon Ball to Super or GT. Not just having a storyline of Dragon Ball Z from Raditz to Buu Saga or Raditz to Cell Saga everytime a Dragon Ball game release every year.

Yes, Demon King Piccolo exploded after his death, even in the manga. And about Goku knowing Piccolo's name it's because... y'know, he looks just like Piccolo, he's also going by Ma Junior, any of them could tell by that, but the most important thing, Goku already knew about Piccolo Jr because of Kami-Sama, y'know, like, before the time skip, before Goku started his training, Kami-Sama told him about Piccolo and asked him to kill him, right after that there's the time skip to the Tournament.

This DLC shows me that they really are capable of creating an OG Dragon Ball Kakarot Game. Literally they just need to do it and I feel that the RPG elements work WAY much better with that one since Goku is really at his weakest in the very beginning. Plus not being able to fly would make traversal pretty interesting sometimes even with the nimbus

I just wanted to address something since people keep saying to release OG dragon ball games in the comment section. There is already an action rpg about OG dragon ball back in NDS, starting from goku meeting bulma. However the sales are low and many people didn't like it, so well i cannot blame them stopping to make more of the series. Although personally i do enjoy it.

Two DLC right away: The first centered on the Son Goku Arc, from the first search for the Dragon Balls, to the Training under Muten and ending it with the 21st Tournament; The second with the Red Ribbon Army Arc, from Muscle Tower, to Taopaipai, to the RR Base and Fortuneteller Tournament. If the second DLC landed during the hype of Super Hero, maybe would have been a success, considering that people might've wanted to explore the beginning of the feud between Goku and the Army. Or maybe, even better, a whole new Game, even if they just call it Dragon Ball Kakarot, or whatever.

Yooo rhyme glad to see you picking up the dlc right away cause you right the spoiler scenes pre launch are everywhere and I definitely wanted to see you and deion's playthrough on it One thing I will say without spoiling anything though, a key aspect you missed here with the ground combat, and the reason why the demon king Piccolo took you this long as well as the bandits at the end was the jump, they added a jump button that you can use to Dodge attacks much easier than the ground flashstep and it can be used after those uppercut attacks to extend into more combos It's the R2 button similar to the fly up button in the original main game

I just had a crazy idea! If they made a game like Dragon ball: The journey begins! Where it plays just like the dlc in kakarot or similar to naruto storm 4. Where you have open world map to have the journey of DB but have fights be on multipler maps. And if it becomes a hit, make the next game. DBZ, the story continues. Dragon Ball: Kakarot would be like Dragon Ball origins but with revamped cutscenes, gameplay, and voice acting. I don't think they'll do it only because OG Dragon Ball had some wild moments, for example, Goku taking off Bulma's under and Bulma flashing Master Roshi on multiple occasions. They could just hyper-censor the moments and slap a rated T on the game but is the internet going to be ok with kid Chi Chi's design? There's a lot of opportunity to make creative gameplay for Dragon Ball like Goku utilizing the power pole and the flying nimbus for fast distance travel or attacking. Mai, Shu, and Pilaf are dragon balls equivalent to Team Rocket so I would love to see them in DBZ: Kakarot style. This could also open up some ideas for other playable characters than Goku such as Krillin, Chi Chi, Yamcha, Oolong, Master Roshi, Yajirobe, etc. Plus a lot of people probably don't know the origins of Kid Goku which would be the same selling point for DBZ: Kakarot-- learning the story through the game. This DLC reminds me Piccolo was in the range between Vegeta and Frieza on the evil scale.

Ok now im gonna be absolutely real after having beat the main STORY portion of this dlc, i think that it didnt fully deliver on the looong wait for it to come out. Gameplay was wocked fun and honestly i almost like the ground battles more than the normal ones in the game but they skip SOOOO MUCH of the tournament and choose to instead cover it in freeze frames of dialogue using images from the show, and it really dissapointed me

I'm mainly disappointed cause the 23rd Budokai Tenkaichi arc is one of my all time personal favorites, I've watched it time and time again and this really didn't do it as much service as they had kinda promised. They absolutely should have animated both Yamchas fight against Hero(kami) and Krillens fight with Piccolo, they're vital to the atmosphere and establishment of the mood of this arc, and they literally showed a freeze frame and said the victor of each battle then moved on. The dialogue is missing alot of vital moments as well as enthusiasm from the voice actors. The scene where chichi screams furiously at Goku is completely lack luster compared to how it was in the original material, she barley sounds upset at all. Even the main fight with Piccolo at the end is a little lackluster, though atleast they didnt skip over all of it completely. Idk, I still really enjoyed this dlc but it sits wrong with me that we waited so long with little to no info on it and then it comes out with arguably the least amount of effort out of all the big story dlcs (not counting the beerus and Frieza ones cause those are just bad)
