Nikola, I am a great user of drug store beauty products. As many women don't have the money or the location to big stores to buy cosmetics. I love my local Walgreens store ( it is the only pharmacy ). They have a Wonderful supply n variety of fine cosmetic products, I am 75 yrs. Do I need to exfoliate my lips at night if so, what do I use.? Afterwards when do I moisturize my lips n what product .I currently use Nivea at hs with a Elf primer in the am prior to using a foundation to start my day. I also order a monthly glam box cosmetics, of which I love. I don't use 1/2 of what they send so I share - pass it on. Any advice plz ? Love your channel. It is so informative n fun.

Esthetician to Esthetician -- THANK YOU! Too many of my clients never really cleansed their skin before starting a new day and applying more makeup. They wondered why their skin never looked the way they wished it to! The evidence was on my cleansing towels when they came in for their skin services. I love hearing about skincare at different price points. The drugstore brands have come a long way! My pet peeve is that some of the luxury skincare brands (like Skinceuticals) are not using airless packaging while some less expensive brands do. You are right consistency is key! I'm 76 and learned that a diet lifestyle of junk food and drinks will wreck your skin faster than a bare face in the sun for 2 hours day in and day out like when we were young. I simply revamped my diet over to whole foods and my skin and hair is improving by the day. I can't afford all those products nor the time to apply. I went crazy finding semi affordable skin care products and it is almost impossible! All of the serums, moisturizers, cleaners, UGH! Vitamin C serum Ceramides and on and on, I love Burts Bees cuticle balm but I had no idea that the line has expanded so much! I'm 64 and I don't want to dread doing my morning and night facial routines, Burts has made it so much easier! My understanding is that when Burt's Bees first sold, the formulations went dirty. But when clientele turned their many backs on that dirty trick, Burt's Bees cleaned up their act and now offer us Burt's clean formulations again. And we Love that!

Yes! Deep dives into drugstore products (including makeup) is VERY helpful. I'm retired and on a fixed income, as are many of your subscribers. So this suits me to my socks. That, and cosmetic chemistry is getting better. Wet 'n Wild, Essence, and ELF are all producing products that are indistinguishable from high-end luxury lines; except for the fragrance. The high-end lines are loaded with fragrance, a known irritant. It's easier to find fragrance-free products at the drugstore.

Love the video - Thank you! My one request is to do a review of both high end and drugstore skincare routine that is 100 % fragrance free for all products used. I wish beauty influencers would inform us of fragrance in every product used to be honest. My skin cannot tolerate fragrance of any kind, even natural - so while I really enjoy these reviews, so often I go to purchase the products and have to pass because there is almost always fragrance. :(

I just use cheap white wash clothes to wipe off the cleansing product I use (I use non-foaming). White so I can bleach them. I have enough to use a clean one everyday until next laundry day.

I have been looking after my skin all my life as I have extremely dry skin. I'm 68, and Dr. says I'm doing very good on my skin. I use almond oil and then extreme moisture on my skin after a shower. I enjoy this kind of video as my skin can't use the same face moisturizer twice in a row. ❤

Nikol - I discovered you about one year ago after a gray hair content contributor on KZbin recommended your channel. After watching a couple of videos I was impressed by your candor and so I decided that I wanted to see the evolution and watched every video that you have on your channel over the last year. I have been waiting to comment until I saw them all and even though I have a few more left😉, I just had to comment now. Thank you so much for this video - I have been crossing my fingers in the hope that you would do this!! I have been doing some research as part of my overall wellness journey regarding skin care products. What I have taken away from this endeavor is this: First, when companies create products and make claims regarding efficacy, testing and safety they do not test their own products with other manufacturer's products. They test within their own line. We have no way to know what products will do when mixed together for the LONG TERM. Obviously, we can assess any immediate reaction, but I am learning that there is more danger in the long term. Second, I want products that are not tested on animals. You mentioned one of the bigger dermatologist recommended products (Cetaphil), but the other big ones are CeraVe and unfortunately one of your favorites, LaRoche Posay; who sell in countries that require animal testing and so they are not cruelty free. For that reason alone, whatever dermatologists recommend is really meaningless to me. Lastly, I need something relatively affordable. I understand that high quality, organic ingredients are inherently more costly to obtain, and I am willing to pinch pennies elsewhere for good skin care, but in the end that doesn't change what is available my beauty budget! THANK YOU so much for doing the leg-work and testing a sampling of the Burt's Bees line. I echo the responses of some of your other viewers - more of this type of content would be nice. I know the title focused on "drug store" but would love to see other natural lines (not random products from multiple lines) at a variety of price points! Lastly, I just want to let you know how much I value your honesty and your motivational energy. I just turned 54 this past weekend and want you to know that your videos - especially Fierce Aging - have helped me to embrace going gray and aging with grace and with optimism!

This is a great idea Nikol. Series on drug store options. Always use the ultra moisturizing Burt’s Bees lip balm and the lip tint when I’m on the go. Really like them. Appreciate your efforts and research to give us options at all price points. I will dabble at higher price points but tend to always stay within my own comfort zone for most of it. I have ended up using The Ordinary skin line mostly from Sephora or direct from the company online. I find they are not only affordable, but you can change serums and cleansers to target whatever you’re dealing with at the moment. A few months on one and maybe something else. With your recommendations on pairing down what we are targeting, I have been seeing so much difference in my skin! I only concentrate on 2 things and when one is resolved then I work on something else, if necessary. Ty for such great advice. Whatever the line we choose, it’s helping us and our wallets. Lol. ❤ 😊

While I own and love your product line, I do struggle a bit with your packaging, especially the snap mechanism on your eye shadows and primer. Just wish it was easier to deal with. Thanks so much Nikol! I tried the Burt’s Bees firming serum and firming moisturizing cream, and for the first time since being diagnosed with mask-induced rosacea, my skin is HAPPY!!! No redness, smooth and supple, happy! The firming eye cream is also very nice, not greasy, just comfortable, and really helps my allergy-puffy under eye area. Without this video, I would never have considered this brand for facial skin care.
