Great review, thank you. I am considering purchasing this flashlight and was concerned based on other (evidently incorrect) reviews and the Fenix website itself. They implied that tactical mode went turbo-low-strobe. I'm glad that is not the case.

+Tommy Yup, I just double checked and tactical is turbo, strobe, low.

Wildernessways Thank you for doing that, I appreciate it. I already liked and subbed :P I will probably be getting one of these in due time. Take care!

I like the frequency changes on strobe to keep Aholes in their cars away from me while I’m on my bike.

Nice review. Sub earned. I carry PD35's for a few years now, just ordered one of the "PD35 Tac"-version - 850lm vs 1000lm is an improvement and also the user interface sounds really nice. Looking forward to it, maybe I'll get rid of my "old" regular PD35s then ;)

This is one of the best videos demonstrating the functions and use of this excellent flashlight. How would you compare this to the 2016 version? I prefer that version for it's battery life and shining distance, but I'm thinking if it's at that much of a disadvantage practically from the TAC version's tactical setting. Thanks for your thoughts!

+Michael Zaloom Thanks for the kind words, unfortunately, I have not seen the 2016 model, so I don't have an answer for you.

+1uptospeed Thanks for the kind words, I don't do a lot of flashlight reviews and I was waiting for the flashlight geek crowd (and I use that term affectionately) to jump on any mistakes that I made.

Did you get the diffuser cone so you can use it as a lamp, etc? I loved them on my LD20

Would you know if this light will fit in a Surefire V70 type plastic holster?
@Wildernessways
@Wildernessways 8 жыл бұрын
+Badwolf75 I am not familiar with the dimensions of that Surefire, but the dimensions of the PD35 are 5.5 inches long and 1 inch in diameter, so if the Surefire is similar I am guessing it should fit.

If you do some research you can find guys who have returned Fenix, Olight and thrunight lights for being defective, but I have never heard of anybody returning a Surefire or Streamlight.

+John doe I have personally returned a Streamlight and had several issues with my Surefire, which is why I no longer carry it. I have not had any trouble with my Fenix.

Wildernessways When you review a new light you should tell about your experience with other lights, i have seen videos where guys talked about how their new fenix stopped working after a few months. I use flashlights every night at work, mostly Surfire's I have had to replace the tail switch on an LX2 which was free. But other than that no problems.

I will keep that in mind, but I was reviewing this light, not other lights that I have used in the past. But thanks for the input.

Wildernessways Im not trying to be a jerk, even though it sounds that way, and I realize you are reviewing one particular light, it would be nice to know how it stacks up against other lights you have experience with, I am also what you call a flashlight geek, and the new LED technology is great.
