Get an F105W from Casio. Basically the F91W with the Illuminator backlight instead of the dinky LED for just a few dollars more. Such a handy watch to have for days in just around the house or out on a walk.
@joshfenn Жыл бұрын
Great point! I don’t have the F105 but you’re totally right, they look really similar. Probably will pick one up myself to add to the Casio collection at some point.

@@joshfenn super fun watch that goes with just about anything! Sometimes have a hard time deciding between it and one of my g shocks.

I've been collecting knives and other EDC gear for about a year now but have never really dabbled in watches. (I have been daily-ing a cheap little all plastic casio with a rubber strap that I bought while on vaction in Turkey 5 years ago because my previous watch broke mid trip. I'm not even sure if it's a genuine casio. My only other watch is a entry level Pulsar that I got as a birthday gift that I used to only wear occasionally but have now started to wear daily more often to look a bit classier.) Anyway, your videos introduced me to the world of budget friendly watches like the ones shown here and I have a Casio CA53W in green on the way that I bought myself as a Christmas gift! Thanks for making me aware of these epic watches.
@jacoolivier2 жыл бұрын
(The pulsar is a vj42 x214 in case anyone was wondering)
@joshfenn2 жыл бұрын
So glad to hear all this! You’ll have to let me know how the green is after you get it, I was torn between that and the classic black when I put in my order. Gonna check out that pulsar too, thanks for adding the model below!

Perfect video! I just recently bought my first watch in an Orient RA-AR0005Y10B. I love it but wanted another watch to swap between while I save up for a Tissot PRX. I think I’m going for the Casio Illuminthingy, looks really classic. Thank you!!

Idk how or why, but I got my AE1200 on sale on Amazon for $17. Can’t beat that!

Such a steal, still one of my favorites as the collection has grown!

If you’re gonna spend a bit more money on a Casio, I suggest the GA2100 or the casioak. Great g shock for around $125-$150. Only problem I have is the curved band, but they use quick release pins, so changing the band is super easy.

I’ve been wanting to pickup one of the Bluetooth solar casioaks for a while now, definitely on my list! Love the square design though too.

I have owned the DW-5600 for 2 yrs now and i gotta say it is being serving me really well.

Such a classic! If/when anyone catches it under $50 it definitely deserves a spot on the list

I really liked the pebble watches, especially the last ones but well it was a nice trip while it lasted
@joshfenn2 жыл бұрын
Never got a chance to try the pebble watches when they were around. Maybe sometime they’ll revive it!

Casio is great, but you need to check the Seiko 5 veriant. I had my Seiko 5 (SNK803-37mm-cream dial), put a leather strap and its looking good on my hand. The build quality is also great too, drop this watch more than i can remember and its hold like a tank

I feel the Duro and DW5600 are must haves in this list. Great diver and Gshock which offer more diversity than the 5 listed (I know you honorable mentioned the Gshock since it’s redundant to the 5610 but it still is one of the best watches under $50)
@joshfenn2 жыл бұрын
The duro isn’t really my style but I’ve heard great things about it! I’ll have to check it out soon. The dw5600 probably would have been in the official list if the msrp was $50 or less, but pricing bumped it out when recorded. Great pickup though that’s usually right around the $50 limit most of the time.

@@joshfenn I picked up the GWM5610 for $70 during a Black Friday sale, can’t complain about that at all! The DW5600 was for sale for under $40

Me too! Spotted the sale on the gshock subreddit. So glad I was able to get one, it’s been great so far
@vincentferreira1135 Жыл бұрын
Yeah but the 5600 isn’t under $50 anymore. At least everywhere I have seen. G Shock prices have gone up a bit the last few years.

I have an A168 as a “home” watch, and now I’m thinking of the World Time for forest walks. Was thinking of G-Shocks but I’m not really sure it’s my thing. World Time looks really cool! Might be too large for my wrist though…
@joshfenn2 жыл бұрын
The world time would be great for that! I’ve worn it out on the trail backpacking for hundreds of miles and always enjoyed it. It’s almost like a ‘g-shock light’ in a sense too, could give you a feel for that type of watch without having to spend too much.

The royale is easily the best budget watch on the market. Can’t go wrong with any of the styles

Absolutely! The royale was my first dive into Casio and really can’t be beat for the price.

Great list! I still dont have a calculator watch.. might need to pick that up! BTW the "regular"m casioaks have been dropping in price. I have seen some of the original colors for under $100. Wish I could give several thumbs up! BTW the Timex looks fine on your wrist. Do you have enough material to loop it back in to the keeper so it doesn't stick out? Just an idea
@joshfenn2 жыл бұрын
I’m definitely jumping on one of the Bluetooth/solar options at some point. Loving the square though right now in the meantime, picked up the 5610 for $70 over Black Friday.

@patrickcashin19272 жыл бұрын
You might consider just changing out your straps. Fairly easy to do. Also Wranglerstar talks about the NATO Strap (nylon) being too long. You tuck it back. Also explains the purpose. kzbin.info60Cwj9XkqVk?feature=share
