Hey all! I just wanted to say that we had an absolute blast doing this video. The idea was to show that both bikes are 100% capable and that wheel size is kind of irrelevant. 27.5 or 29, you can have fun anywhere. A few people have commented that they would have liked us to do a swap and give our feedback on the other bike, but unfortunately we both ride different size frames, and also you wouldn't believe how long it took to film just this very short "comparison". 😂 Maybe in the future... you never know 🤘

I’ve had my 2019 Swoop for six months now and loving it. It’s my first full suspension bike and been a great introduction to the sport. The big wheels and long travel have saved me more times than I can remember. I watched this video before buying the Swoop and it helped me make my mind up. Thank you.

29ers being faster is the biggest myth in mountain biking. Ive' ridden both and in my opinion is they both roll over the same but the 27.5 is easier to move on and off a line. The only place a 29er is faster is on smooth no brake strait lines. For us I think 29ers work well out West where the trails are open. Where we ride biking nimble means speed so for us 27.5! Great work love the talking at lunch!
@RealMJSr5 жыл бұрын
Agree, I rode both. And the idea of 29er being "confidence inspiring" is so foreign to me. I felt like I was too high up for steep and gnarly stuff on a 29er. Yea, 29er rolls fine, but 27.5 is so responsive and the lower center of gravity was key to me.
@SenderoSeeker5 жыл бұрын
Cheers Watty. I've had both 29er's and 27.5's and both are great in certain situations. There's no doubt the 29er has greater roll over and in fast chunder it's safer, but of course you do lose some agility. Likewise the 27.5 can be thrown off it's line more easily. However I love both wheel sizes. Horses for courses!

Great video Nathan, informative and fun. Swapping bikes would have been interesting but I guess sizing, set up etc makes that difficult. FWIW I've recently got an Orbea Rallon and am totally blown away by it's ability to roll over trail obstacles. I've read that 29ers tend to be better for getting the job done at the expense of some flickabilty but I genuinely find the Rallon a total headcase of a bike. You pays yer money etc.......
@SenderoSeeker5 жыл бұрын
Haha. A "total headcase of a bike". Best description I've heard so far 😂 Too be honest that's exactly how I'd describe the Swoop too. It invites you to get rowdy and sometimes actually pushes you beyond your comfort zone, but that's part of the fun. Glad you enjoyed the video Chris! And the Rallon looks awesome.

It's a great place to live Dave. The quality of life is fantastic, and you'll never have to see another grey and dreary sky again (or very few). Madrid doesn't really do smooth flow, but depending on where you are in Spain you can find most any type of trail. Cheers for your comment 💪

My Radon swoop 29er is on the way to me now and should be here i a couple of days. Im not the tallest guy around and have ordered the 17 inch version which i guess is a sort of medium although they don't do a small . Anyway, i am still not sure i have done the right thing, although it might just take time to get used to it. I have been riding a Merida with 27.5 plus and it didn't seem to big at all, so going up a few mm might not be that noticeable. My hardtail is a 29er although i don't take that anywhere techy and thats fine too, so wee will see what happens. If anyone is in doubt as to how fast 29ers are, you should go and have a look at Ben Cathro's videos and see how quick he can ride his Santa Cruz High tower LT.

@@SenderoSeekerHow would you compare the Nukeproof Mega to Swoop, which one you think is better?
@SenderoSeeker5 жыл бұрын
The bikes are way to different to compare. The Mega was a tank that liked going in straight lines over anything very fast. The Swoop is incredibly agile and a really rowdy bike that wants to go fast all the time. Couldn't be more different :) For me the Swoop is much more fun!
